Basically, the earth is dying or will be destroyed by that one meteor that passes it by inches every hundred years or something (I have not decided yet). And they send out a fleet of enormous ships filled with pods containing embryos of every species ever discovered, plus humans, and when they are opened, the embryos are 14 years old in their species' years. So all the humans are woken up by the caretaker robots in there and are told that they have found a planet capable of sustaining life to land on, and that is all I will elaborate on.
