Name: Akio Kashiwagi
Age: 26
Personality: Akio is slightly unhinged even by sorcerer standards. He lives life on the razor's edge and charges through life with a mix of an insatiable hunger for risk and a seemingly complete disregard for consequences, leaving a trail of both chaos and exhilaration in his wake.

At his core, Akio is a man of pure impulse and is always on the lookout for the next big rush of adrenaline, the next gamble, the next brush with death. He'll gladly throw himself headfirst into danger if there's even the slightest chance he can gain from doing so.

Beneath his cocky exterior however, he is desperate for the respect he feels he's been denied since birth. He'll take the chance given to him by the destruction of Jujutsu Headquarters to prove that he could have made something out of himself, no matter the cost to himself (or others).

Background: Born into the minor Kashiwagi clan, Akio was destined for a life of mediocrity. When it was revealed that he had inherited his clans inherited technique, even that was ripped from him.

Most clans tend to treasure their inherited technique, but the Kashiwagi views their as at best a joke and at worse a curse. For each story about a Kashiwagi sorcerer using the technique to save the day there is a dozen where it just ended up making everything worse (something that the other clans are more than haòppy to remind them of). As a result, those among the Kashiwagi who inherits the technique tend to be designated to work as servants to the rest of the clan or, occasionally, dealing with administrative duties.

Refusing to accept this, Akio was dead set on attending Jujutsu High and become a sorcerer. However while he showed some promise nobody wanted to sponsor him, making it impossible for him to advance in grades.

After realizing this, Akio left the world of Jujutsu sorcery behind him and tried to make a living out of gambling.

Now that the Jujutsu Headquarters is all but completely destroyed and their standards much lower, Akio have decided to return and prove that he's capable of becoming a great sorcerer.

Grade: Grade 4 (at least officially)
Equipment: N/a
Cursed Technique:
SPOILER="Cursed Technique: Gambler's Fallacy"]Akio's cursed technique allows him to summon three dice that he can use to play a round of Chinchirorin with.

Akio is able to bet a percentage of his cursed energy on the game and gain or lose an amount of cursed energy equal to the payout of the roll.

He is, however, unable to bet more cursed energy than he could repay if he were to get triple ones.

The game is pretty easy. In short, you roll three dice and try to get one pair. The number of the the remaining die is the "point". In a two player game, the winner is whoever has the biggest point value (save for any special rolls). However, since the game played with cursed technique is a single person game, the point value doesn't matter much, aside from the fact that any roll with a point of one is an instant loss.

If the player gets a roll with a point value other than one, they'll receive an payout equal to their bet. If they get a roll with either a point value of one or no point value at all, they have to pay the amount of cursed energy they betted.

There are also a couple of special roles, if the players rolls 4,5,6 they'll recive double their payout. But if they roll a 1,2,3 they have to pay double their stake.

If they roll the same number thrice, they get a payout of three times what they bet. But if they roll three ones they have to pay triple the amount they wagered.

For balance reasons I'll use this forum's dice rolling mechanic to determine my character's rolls.

Binding Vows:
By limiting her normal cursed energy output, this binding vow lets Liz gain more cursed energy the more damage she takes.

Obviously, she'll loose any cursed energy gained if she's healed by reversed cursed technique.

This binding vow works in unison with the above one and lets Akio bet potential cursed energy she doesn't yet have. In return, should he be unable to pay his stake, this binding vow will cause his body to injure itself in order to create enough cursed energy to pay of his debt.

There are naturally still limits to this. His body can only generate 200% of his normal cursed energy output through damage (and doing so would kill him) thus he can't bet anything that goes above that.

Damage inflicted by this binding vow can't be healed.
Skills: Reading people, basic first aid.

If I give your character a like, they're accepted. Therefore please post each finished character as a separate post.

Name: Kojo Mōmoku

Age: 28

Personality: Kojo is the type of guy to let life's water flow off of his back like a duck. A calm, nonchalant guy with a penchant for being content (almost lazy), Kojo can be described as 'friendly enough' and 'kind' by those who like him and 'bland' or 'boring' by those who don't. Despite this, he has had a hunger, a need for something... a something that turned out to be sorcery which he has pursued enthusiastically for the last decade. That is, as one can be enthusiastic for as a hobby.

Background: Kojo lived a fairly average life for the most part. Grew up, did alright in school (probably better if he applied himself), getting a job to support his single mom and his grandparents. It wasn't until one day his idyllic if dull life was shattered by one, simple fact: he could see cursed spirits. When bringing this up to his family, his grandfather revealed that he was the long lost scion of a bastardized off-shoot from a great clan of Jiujitsu Sorcerers. Much of their knowledge has been lost, but his Grandfather was willing to teach Kojo what little he knew, and advised him to steer clear from the rest of Sorcerer society.

Since then, Kojo has worked on and off as a Sorcerer, mainly doing minor assignments and odd jobs. Due to his disinterest in advancing among sorcerers (That is, in a social manner), and his relatively weak cursed energy output, he's managed to keep a distance from most of the evils and disgusting parts of the world of Jiujitsu Sorcery. He's since managed to go to college and get a relatively benign office job for the government... until one day he's pulled aside and told under no uncertain terms that he has been reassigned to a different branch of the government; the Jiujitsu Headquarters.

Forcibly thrust into the world of Sorcery, Kojo finds himself treading uncharted and dangerous waters, though it remains to see if he sinks like the stone others think he is... or swims in the turbulent waves.

Grade: 4

Equipment: N/A

Cursed Techniques

Kojo's technique is based on the concept of nothing, or the absence of something. Using it, he can reduce Cursed Energy in an area of affect around himself or focused on a particular individual/item/location for virtually no cost (The last part of vital importance considering his crippling Vow).

Binding Vows: N/a, 1 Heavenly Restriction

Kojo's total Cursed Energy limit is unknown due to this Vow. The Vow itself is simple; Kojo is unable to use a majority of any amount of his Cursed Energy leaving him weakened to an almost crippling degree. He estimates at least 90-95% of all his Cursed Energy (probably more) is consumed by Compounding Destiny, but it isn't being destroyed. Rather, he thinks it's being stored. The only benefit Kojo gains from it is that upon meeting a "designated individual", Karmic Balance will not only allow Kojo to access all 100% of his Cursed Energy, but allow him to tap into the vast reserve of Energy his Vow has accrued. Who or What this "Designated Individual" is completely unknown even to Kojo, and he surmises that 'When I meet them, Destiny will let me know'.

Skills: College Level Education (Masters in Business/Psychology, Bachelors in Philosophy), immense Grace Under Fire, Easy to Underestimate

OOC: Here is my Character, hope it fits in with the theme. Spent two hours building and researching an anime I've never watched to make it fit. Hope you like it!

Name: Amaki Tagai
Age: 17
Appearance:
img-lykZrsI1VQGHlOlpG35B8.jpeg

Personality: Amaki is a bit diffrent that the normal sorcerer. She isn't the brooding serious type but best described as silly and light hearted. While others might be fueled by negotive energy her positive energy has given her a bright and sunny demeanor. She dosent seem to fully treat things seriously and is often a bit to silly for others to take her seriously. She tends to act dumber than she actully is. Despite all this she is rather cunning and has dropped the silly quirks revealing a far more serious almost blood thirsty side that she doesn't like.

Background: Amaki doesn't actully cone from any clan, she has no roots in the jujitsu world. Not everyone gets to be related to some great noble clan and Amaki is just one of those people who gets born with it. The it in this case being a heavenly restriction.

Amaki would have a normalish life, as seeing weird monsters that vanished when she touched them was bot normal. Given the cursed spirits never got a chance to stick around Amaki didn't encounter the jujitsu world for a good while.

Actully she wouldn't be found till she entered high school and she got rid of one of the mo stars in front of someone who happened to be a sorcerer. They would start explaining the world she been ignorant of.

Tranfsering into jujistu high Amaki to most wasnt that impressive and given her power wasnt an ancient technique or that visually impressive she was given grade 4. With the higher ups gone Amaki is ready to help restore order to the world.

Grade: 4

Equipment: while not cursed Amaki has managed to get the school got give her a gun and a dagger she can infuse her positive energy into in order to infect spirits easier.

Cursed Technique:

Infectious positivity: Less a technique and more a quirk of her positive energy, Amaki's energy literally infects and converts cursed energy to positive energy. This is easiest done by hitting the target with a weapon or blow infused with positive energy. while this means her enemy can heal ( if they are a fellow sorcerer) they will eventually have no cursed energy and a cursed spirit will just be destroyed after a time. Luckily she has learned how to turn this effect off for friend so she can heal them.

Binding Vows:
Heavenly restriction: Complete reverse, Amaki has no cursed energy , none whatsoever but instead she generates Reversed cursed energy, positive energy as if it were cursed energy. This makes her one hell of a healer or even a great endurance type fighter, but she can't use any normal cursed techniques. She can manipulate her positive energy in a similar manner to normal cursed energy, but she can't learn anything based on cursed energy.

Skills: she has good aim, is surprisingly durable, is a ray of sunshine in the dark.

Name: Han Chunwoo
MDzJvlQ.png

Age: 29

Personality: Han has a carefree one could say aloof attitude to life but they are incredibly focused on their personal growth in the field of his two interests martial arts and bartending. It's clear that these pursuits mean a great deal to Han. One could say Han is a battle junkie, but he prefers seeing it as enjoying the time fought well, as each moment fought brings him closer to perfecting one of his crafts. Their passion for intense, challenging encounters is evident, it seems to even be a driving force in their life. As for his charisma, it's almost always accidental, steering from his genuine passion and dedication, It's not something they actively seek, but somehow someway he tends to draw others to him one way or another. However, it also tends to get him in countless troubles along the way.

Background: Han hails from a clan of cursed tools users, though its true roots hail from a vagabond family of martial artists way back in time. From a young age, Han was taught how to handle cursed tools and how to use them efficiently against cursed spirits, but his heart loved martial arts, to the point that he would secretly practice them whenever he could. But of course, his clan being what it was forbid him from doing so and to "focus on cursed tools", at first he just ignored them or tried to find a balance between both, and yet his patience broke one day. He performed a binding vow that forbade him from using cursed tools in front of the clan patriarch and was then effectively thrown out of the clan, he was only allowed to take his things, with the last good thing they did for him was give him some money after they formally threw him out of the family.

It took Han a bit to figure things out on his own, after all, he was just a 16-year-old kid at the time. He found a job in some old bar around the place he managed to get a small apartment for himself. As time went by Han found a way to balance between work as a bartender, sorcerer curse spirit extermination business, his own personal training, and social life though it was not an easy feat. It took him some years for his sorcerer grade to increase but he did not really care for it, it just meant that he had bigger opportunities for better fights which could entail the evolution of his martial arts, maybe even his cursed techniques.

Grade: 3 [At least officially]
Equipment: N/A
Cursed Technique: Resonant strike-
A technique self-developed by Han, in essence it has two features. First, no matter how hard or soft Han hits someone as long as he hits them some damage will be caused to the target. Secondly, with each strike that connects to the same target, the damage caused by the strikes stacks onto each other, making it so each hit hits harder and harder as long as Han doesn't miss his strike.
Binding Vows: Unarmed Fighter- Han forbids himself from using any cursed tool or implement of similar origins, in exchange it enhances Han's physical abilities.
Skills: Martial Arts Prowess, Battle Junkie, Well of energy aka Tireless. Amazing bartender.

noknicosansismygirl.jpg
Name: Kamiya Hatsue
Age: 20

Personality: Hatsue is an independent and self-reliant woman, she doesn't trust a lot of people with her biddings and mainly prefers to do it herself, regardless; Whether it's taking care of herself, her apartment, important business or taking charge in a situation. It partially stems from her perfectionism where she needs things to be done in a certain, specific way to be satisfied or content with the process and its results, but it also takes root in her untrusting nature.
When she takes notice of someone, the first thing she'll take in account is how and why the person will act in a way to feed their own ego. Although, Hatsue doesn't particularly scrutinize her findings, quite the contrary, it's the easiest way for her to relate to someone else since she mainly acts in her own favor, as well. However, it doesn't make it any easier on her to trust someone else, she can't find any valid reason why the other wouldn't betray her for their own achievements; It's something she'd accuse herself for as well.

(art credit: @/sansismygirl on insta)

Moreover, Hatsue is, although usually very composed and down-to-earth, a competitive individual at heart; She likes the sense of superiority that she shortly acquires when she wins against someone, when she proves herself to be the better person in the matter. It isn't something she actively engages in but it is a passive trait to her that fuels her jealousy, her need to show off if the situation offers her the chance. That part of her character, in addition to her mistrust, makes her often act very aloof towards others, distant and above-it-all, cool and dismissive. However, she would never actively become an aggressor, she may be passive aggressive, snarky even, but never downright threatening or short-tempered. She knows her manners and etiquette and holds herself to it, motivated by her in-built sense of righteousness that expresses it's disdain of inappropriate behavior in a way that belittles those who act rude- or crudely; "If you can only prove yourself in an argument through yelling and harming others, you are just a child throwing a tantrum".

Therefore, Hatsue keeps an eye on how she acts around others, that her need to prove herself doesn't forego the underlying requirements of her to act her age; Mature & down-to-earth; That she needs to present herself as confident but always needs to remain self-critical and mindful of her actions and their affects.

Background: Hatsue was born and raised into the house Kamiya; a family prominently known for their "healing" abilities. They free people of their fatigue, listlessness or even physical pains ― in other words, they exorcise the every day curses that plague and follow the citizens of Japan. Among sorcerers and those aware of evil spirits, they're more known under terms of "Goody-two-shoes", "frauds" or "cutthroats". In the past as in the present, their approach of directly liberating the people from their curses and making it seem like they're using a power gifted to them by a higher power above, strikes a lot of sorcerers as wrong as they prefer their secretive and "outside of the eye of the average passenger" way. However, neither parties have yet risen any argument good enough to fully invalidate the opposition and with that, are enforced to view each other's views with tolerance.
Hatsue, herself, had a deliberately strict upcoming. She had been taught a strict array of rules of etiquette and manners which she had to follow and submit to. To motivate their children to do better, the family had invented a point system for the many cousins, siblings and children lived under one roof. The one with the most points could wish for something like candy, a trip, an allowance, a day where they could invite their friends over and so on. The child with the least points was given a harsh scolding even if it had tried its best, it was told to do better, to work harder, it would be compared to the others and if it began crying, it would be locked into a room, alone, left to deal with itself. The more often a child was given the most points, the clearer it was to the parents who was the best among them and who to favoritize in hopes that they would be supporting a gifted child who could represent their family and finally garner the respect of other sorcerer families and be seen by the higher ups. Hatsue had never been one of the favorite children, she had never been the best in her entire life; However, she had always tried. Among her siblings and cousins, a tension rose, everyone was against everyone; there was no sense of a familial bond if they wanted something from their parents, instead it was survival. Their actions often speaking something along the lines of "Don't take it personally, I'm just trying to achieve what is best for me".

The way of thinking carried over into school, Hatsue was unwilling to show her homework with other students who had forgotten it. In group settings, she would always make sure that she was credited for her work. In competitions and school contests, she would work extra hard for reaching the first place. More often than not, she had managed that throughout primary and middle school. The teachers had given her plenty of praise for it, a rare occassion where Hatsue was validated and her efforts seen. It had turned her into a teacher's pet; Outside of wanting to become the best among students, she also wanted to be the teacher's favorite student. It had gotten her and some other teachers into quite the trouble which led to one teacher having been falsely accused of exploiting a child and being fired while Hatsue was sent to the school's counselor to talk.
After many talks and meetings, multiple recommendations to pedagogical organizations and eventually Hatsue and many of her other siblings being taken away from the Kamiya household due to obvious reasons; Hatsue eventually unlearned her habit of seeking approval from others, from unnecessary competition and making anyone who could take away the "Number one.." title from her, an enemy. Although some habits certainly remained and she isn't perfect, never will be, she has improved from her past and will continue to do so.
On her way to improvement and her past enlistment to a Jujutsu Sorcerer School, she has chosen to rid herself of partial narcissistic tendencies by using her powers to help others and become a Jujutsu Sorcerer; Certainly trying to put her own life on the line for complete strangers will fix her issues.. right?

sansismygirl insta.jpg
(art credit: @/sansismygirl on insta)

Grade: Semi-Second Grade
Equipment: A dagger.
Cursed Technique:
The cursed ability reveals to Hatsue, the opponent's or ally's cursed technique without giving her counterpart the benefit that once the cursed technique is known to her, it'll become stronger/more effective against her. Additionally, due to the knowledge, a passive ability activates which permits her a glance into a short-future which gives her an overall guess, not guarantee, of her enemy's next move against her.
The maximization of her technique is that over a limited area as big as a football stadium, the sky will split to reveal an eye which overwatches everything within its view. That very eye allows Hatsue an almost omniscient knowledge of the very area, however, due to an overflow of information that she isn't used to, she also can't keep that "third eye" open for too long or she'll pass out.
The activation of her non-maximized technique is usually noticeable by faint violet glimmer around her iris.
Binding Vows: N/A
Skills:
Outside of her technique, Hatsue habours a great tactical and strategic thinking; That combined with her ability makes her general fighting style and aim the quickest way to eliminate her opponent/the curse. Although she's young and the sorcerer society had gone through quite the uproar and chaos, she's known among those who she had already worked with as an "assassin". Swift and precise, she tries to make quick work of the enemy and exterminate them without so much but a sound from them. She owns a strength greater than the average person, however, it isn't something exemplary or unique to other sorcerers. What does strike a lot of people as a surprise are her agility and speed, she isn't inhumanely flexible, however, she has trained her body enough to be able to give a chase no matter the terrain if her target ever escapes.

Name: Ava [REDACTED]jjkrp.png

Age: 19

Personality: Due to a combination of her street roots and her love for movies, Ava is a mostly friendly person who is always focused on trying to make more allies than enemies. Even if she didn't like you, she'd make sure you never know. This is also a result of her growing up with her clan name that made her virtually excommunicated from the sorcerer world. Despite her past and line of work, she's maintained a pretty playful attitude towards her life and interests. The only exceptions to this are the sorcerer clans, that she has gained a general disdain for. Her last name is her burden to wear, and she refuses to go by another name because of that, even if it has done nothing but make her life more complicated. In her perspective, it's her name now, and as the last member of the clan, it's up to her to decide how her clan name is percieved. On a lighter note, she's also a huge fanatic of movies and games. After her clan's death, she'd spend all her free time using money from her thievery on movie theaters and arcades. Now that she's older, she tends to still spend time and money on those things, but also has gained more interests, like fashion and sports like basketball.

Background: Ava was born the daughter of an American woman and a Japanese man that happened to be a part of a notorious clan in the sorcerer world. From what she can remember, she actually liked her mom, who would sing her lullabies and let her watch cartoons. Though, at that age, she spent a lot of her time in bed, ill. People would visit her from many different backgrounds, always seeming fearful of upsetting her, which confused her. She remembers a time when one of said medics spoke about her when they thought she was asleep.

"It's true, not even higher ranking cursed technique users can fix this girl. Even my own technique has barely helped." they said, before laughing to themselves.
"This is truly divine justice. Sorry girl, but this clan had it coming. I hope your eventual death is swift and painless."

It scared her 8 year old brain at the time. What kind of man wishes death upon a child? What had her clan done? These were questions that she would never have answered. A few days later, all she could hear outside of her room was screams. Whatever comeuppance her clan had deserved was served that day. Though, something did change that day. While the chaos was happening outside her room, she would suddenly feel a warmth surround her as whatever plague she had would seemingly disappear, leaving her feeling a comfort she had never felt. She was beyond healthy, she felt strong. Still, with the death of her clan, she was left an orphan. It was decided that she would be sent to a selected clan. The clan that took her in was literally made to take her in against their will, and as such, she was mostly left to her own devices, given only the minimum. As a result, she quickly picked up the ways of the streets. With the combination of her heavenly restriction and manifested cursed technique, she quickly started to become well known in the world of crime. At first, she was just some kid that made a good thief and an occasional getaway driver. Over time, she would come to know some people in higher positions as she would begin to do more high profile robberies. Up until she was 17, she had done a good job of keeping her secret underworld life a secret. Not just from school and the police, but from her clan as well. It wasn't until she unintentionally outed herself when one of the heads of the clan had ordered a job from her, that she was exposed. Of course, her actions were only used to spit on the name of her clan more, but she also had kind of been put in the eye of Jujutsu HQ. From that point, she was assigned a grade and, while she occasionally would be ordered on an exorcism mission, Jujutsu HQ seemed to not like her either. This was actually a relief, as it seemed that she would most likely be left alone. That is, until it all went down.

Grade: 2

Equipment: Kunai rope dart - Brass knuckles

Cursed Technique: Glitch/Lagswitch
While seeming like teleportation, her cursed technique involves her taking a quick dash in any direction while being temporarily able to phase through solids. The dash is at a speed above what she could normally achieve by running, so to anybody on a relative level of speed to her or below, it seems almost instant. However, anybody who vastly outspeeds her or has some sort of perception based CT could percieve and predict where she will glitch to. Her CT is tied to her mental stability, to where the more relaxed she is the longer the cooldown till her next use of a glitch. Because of this, she has a very, "go in without a plan and be prepared for anything." mentality for things, in an attempt to help her keep a reasonable amount of instability, whatever that means.

Heavenly Restriction: Ava is immune to reverse cursed techniques, being left reliant solely on her own self care via physical things like bandages instead of being able to rely on a reverse techniques used by other sorcerers. Even if she could, she wouldn't even be able to use a reverse cursed technique on herself. In exchange, she has a boost to her physical attributes.

Skills: Parkour, sleight of hand, boxing, driving, billingual (English)
Not being able to rely on reverse techniques, she knows basic medical knowledge for things like cuts, broken bones, and other physical injuries.
