I've had some regrets now that I am looking back.
Some of them are not that bad and kinda small.
Like hesitating to grab an offered snack,
but then the server walks away, down the hall.
I've had some regrets from lack of ambition.
Instead of training, playing on my phone, unmoved.
And then finding disappointment in the competition,
When, instead, I could have much more improved.
I have a regret stemming from denial.
A friend whose fate, cancer, was grim.
I believed that he would overcome such a trial,
But I sat at his funeral, regretting that I did not visit him.
So, dear reader, this is my challenge to you:
Do the things to which you are compelled.
Life is short, our years possibly few,
and my regrets are actions that were with-held.
