BACKGROUND: Being born in the Mun family, there was a reputation to uphold in the household, not because they were Pure-bloods, but because in South Korea, their family was well-known for producing Successful Aurors and known for producing those who held High positions in their respected Ministry. Despite them being the perfect picture family, the Mun family held no grudges against other magical folks, Muggle or non-Muggles, and creatures of other natures, they solely respected them as they followed the guidelines: "Treats others the way you want to be treated". Despite having the blood of the Pure-breds, the Mun family didn't care about their blood, but rather about their reputation of their hierarchy of Success. The Mun family produced three, handsome, charming, "perfect" sons who excelled in their N.E.W.T.s and found job positions that was worthy of noting. Every-day they recieved praises and compliments as her mother and father were Ministers as well as Head Secretary. However, that all changed with Gyeoul Eun-Jeong was born. As a traditional Korean family, woman weren't seen as first priority, but rather, males were. So, the first "offense" was that she was born a girl. The second "offense" was she was undeniably dwarf-sized and wouldn't grow tall to five feet like her mother or her other relatives. Gyeoul was looked down upon when she was a child and made fun of because of her "awkward" looks. Although Gyeoul was the Top of her Class and was able to retain information better than anyone she knew, she wasn't able to pass her N.E.W.T.S with all Outstandings, instead she passed with Exceeding Expectations. It was horrifying to her parents to see such scores since all of her brothers received Outstandings. Because of the berating of her family members and the pity glances from her brothers, Gyeoul felt little to no confidence in herself, as she felt she was the odd ball or rather black sheep of the family. Ever since she was a child, her mother and father gave her books after books, lessons after lessons, even during her time at Wizarding School, there wasn't any time for breaks, she had to continue her studies to no end. It was true she would get burnt out, but the only thing she knew how to do was read books and then practice her magic. Gyeoul led a life filled with pressure and anticipation where she developed anxiety and stress-induced trauma after "failing" her first test.
From time to time, her family would verbally abuse her or physically abuse her into remembering the information she needed for the test. Everything had to be in perfection for her High Expectation Mother and Father. Her parents were ashamed of her as her brothers were too busy to try to help the girl out, so she found refuge in the animals that ventured around her home. At the same time, she found a friend in a boy next door named Kwan Jeong Eun. They had been friends for awhile, that is, until he moved to England, leaving her behind. He always helped her, not with just studying, but he taught her how to have fun and do more things besides studying. Those were the happiest time of her life, but when Kwan, left, everything was as it were, with an exception of having a bond with the animals near her. However, at the age of 16, during her second to last year, when Gyeoul was still in schooling at Mahoutokoro, she would always pass by the glass shelves of pictures of her Family's lineage of their successes and happiness. She dreamed of being where her family was, Outstanding, as they were. It was during this year that she was going to change, she was going to excel in all of her testings. But, she came upon a spell book one night, and soon enough, became engrossed of it, to the point, it was out her control. She never knew the spell book was part of the restrictions venue, but it landed in her care. Gyeoul conjured upon a cursed foul beast that wrecked havoc among the school, causing a death of a classmate and chaos that ensued because of her foolishness. Her consequence was dire as she received a scare of that night on her back and the burn she received from the fire. Thankfully, with the help of Professors and Students, they were able to defeat the foul creature and sent him to where he came from. Because of this incident, Gyeoul was mortified, ashamed, and felt guilt for summoning such a beast without knowing. She never forgave herself and called herself a "killer" because she was the one that was responsible for bringing the creature alive. It was her fault, someone died because of her. The book that came upon her disappeared the same time the creature disappeared and was defeated from her grasp. As time went on, she was secluded even more, being named for a murderer because of the incident that caused a fellow student's death. No one trusted her, instead they spat at her, and called her one of the Dark Lord's henchmen. The Ministry was even involved, causing her Family's reputation to be tarnished as she was on trial for the occurence. The whole trial was a mess as her family fought back against the other family, claiming innocence, but her family was nowhere forgiving to their daughter for destroying everything they built.
Ever since the night where she caused chaos and destruction, Gyeoul would always find herself reliving that same night over and over again, sometimes to the point where she was plagued with nightmares constantly and wouldn't sleep. Her family almost disowned her for her actions but her brothers begged their parents to let her stay. However, despite allowing her to stay with the family, she was seen as nothing more than a pest as they labeled their daughter a disgrace to the Mun family. As the year was nearing to an end, an incidence occured between her and her family where they faced an old enemy, one of the Death Eaters that held a grudge against them. The Death Eater used the family's disgraced reputation as a sign of weakness and attacked them. The fight was long as the Mun family had to endure such a fight because they were transported to a world where they could not be disturbed. It was 6 versus 6, as it seemed the Death Eater found their own allies to kill the Mun family and destroy them. Gyeoul fought well with her family as they succeeded in winning the battle, after some long gruesome hours, where all of them were out of breathe. However, as the battle was nearing it's end, it was only then where Gyeoul could have almost lost her life, if only her brother didn't step in. Her brother were severely injured, to the point he lost a leg and is now in crutches. He had saved his sister from getting harmed as he jumped in front of the spell that was meant for her. This accident caused more hostility between her and her parents as they spat at her for being useless that caused her brother his downfall. They would have rathered Gyeoul get injured than her brother who was more noticeable, more successful, and someone who was more reliable. Because of the dark encounter, Gyeoul found a reason to become an Auror, to get payback for her brother, as well as to show her parents she didn't mean any of the catastrophe to happen. She wanted to prove herself and the World, that she is a protector and that she can protect others rather than harm them. As mentioned before, Gyeoul was able to get all Exceed Expectations but never one Outstandings, but that never stopped her from trying harder as she became a rookie auror to a full-fledged auror, hoping to bury her past in her. She found her skills in martial magic as well as other specialist topics, but nevertheless, she finds fuel whenever she's able to take her stress out on punching bags and other stress-relievers.
PERSONA: With fair, porcelain skin, Gyeoul's pure, innocent face is usually make-up free as it's fresh and cleaned every day. Her skin is smooth and silky, as her long, light brown hair, flows down her back, to her waistline. Her light hazel eyes, sparkles under the sun, as she's always seen with a soft smile on her face. When she's happy, there are crinkles around her eyes, and when she's laugh, her pearly white teeth shows. However, underneath her outer exterior, when her skin is exposed, a long gash mark down her back will be shown as a side burn mark will be seen. Standing at 4 feet and 11 inches, with a baby face, Gyeoul looks younger than she actually is, catching the attention of taunts and underestimations from her peers. Nevertheless, Gyeoul as a childlike innocence yet grace towards her.
STRENGTHS: Gyeoul is quite intelligent, book smart, street smart, and every-way possible, an excellent witch. She loves learning new spells and charms, brewing different potions, and learning everything there is to the Wizarding World. She is easily fascinated by the simplest things and is really easy to please. Everything excites her and she is quite approachable. Gyeoul is short by nature, and can actually fit into small spaces if she ever needs to hide or get something in small cracks. She smiles and laughs easily, always able to converse with those around her. Gyeoul is not a person who gives up easily, she's highly trained and motivated. She is obedient as she is playful. Gyeoul is a great supporter of Magical Creatures and is allied to the Auror's motto. She will stop at nothing to stop criminal activities and keep the Wizarding World and non magical safe from harm. Gyeoul is the complete opposite of her name as she is not as cold as winter, but she is as warm as summer. She will be there for those who wishes for her care and protection. Gyeoul can be protective of those she comes to care about, or rather, everyone in general. At times she can be a little reserved, but it does not mean she does not enjoy company since, although she can be reserve, it is only when she has to be serious on her missions. She knows when to be serious and when to let loose, which is a good balance since, she would drive herself insane if she doesn't let herself go once in a while and not bottle it all up. Gyeoul is prone to being clumsy and prone to being careless, but that doesn't stop her from working hard. She has drive, determination, and courage to do what she wants to do and fight all the odds that are against her. Despite being short in stature, she knows how to command the room when needs to and get things done. She is hardworking and won't half-ass anything. She is kind-hearted as well as patient with those around her, understanding and being compassionate. Gyeoul is a hard-worker and is always down to listen and be an ear to those around her. She's always striving towards bettering her craft and sees that there's a lot to learn before she considers herself an "expert".
WEAKNESSES: Although determined and motivated, Gyeoul's stubborn nature will cause her downfall and harm her more than others because she does not think before she acts in situations that deeply concerns her. Because of her empathetic nature, Gyeoul feels the suffering and loss of those who are in pain. She finds herself resembling them because of the pain of her own mistake and her own past. Whenever she sees magical creatures or even her own brethern turn on each other, her heart aches as she feel the anger and lost of someone's precious friend or family. Gyeoul wears her heart on her sleeve, expressing herself to the point where others can see that she is vulnerable and fragile. She is honest with herself and those around her, causing her to become an open book against her opponent. Gyeoul is reckless and finds herself in situations that will cause trouble to her partners because of her motto: "act before thinking". She is easily stressed and overwhelmed, especially when the pressure is on when her family continues to berate and disregard her feelings. Gyeoul finds herself wanting the best for others, not wanting them to feel what she had felt, and not wanting them to face what she had face. For those that will be under her wing, she worries she would not be good enough for them. She suffers an inferiority complex and finds it difficult to be confident.
At the same time, Gyeoul has trouble with test-taking. She was always great with practical, visual exams, and hands-on exams, but give her a pencil, paper, and a multiple choice, she suffers from anxiety and indecisiveness. She gets nervous and trembles under the pressure of taking an exam that would be her score. Test taking is not her strong suit and she tries to avoid it at all possible. Nevertheless, because of her antsy and inability to be on alert of things around her, she is taken for surprised easily, as she has a one track mind and perspective. Gyeoul is afraid of the future. At the same time, she finds herself having to put up a facade around her peers sometimes because of the constant stress and pressure from her family. She finds herself having to be "fake" and "perfect" every once in a while which can do more damage than she can ever expect.
FATAL FLAW: Gyeoul always finds the needs to not only prove to herself but to her peers and family that she is a prestigious witch and an excellent Auror. Because she is the youngest Veteran Auror, many look down upon her with prejudice and judge her before she can even show them her skills. She finds herself always wanting to prove her worth and wanting to show others they are perceiving her the wrong way. Gyeoul wants them to stop underestimating her despite her age and her looks as she's only 4 feet and 11 inches and has a baby face. Because of this flaw, she foolishly would head into battle and recklessly jump in front of others to protect them from harm or danger. At the same time, she is pressured by her family because of her three outrageously successful brothers since she is considered the black sheep of the family. The scars of her past that haunts her dreams every night, purposefully mocks her to the point where she can lash out unintentionally. Because of the constant pressure and baggage she carries, Gyeoul will find herself in troublesome situations, but, the one thing she's scared of the most is when it gets too rough on her, she may not have control of her powers because she wears her heart on her sleeves.
MISCELLANEOUS:
- She is an unregistered Animagus: changes into an animal at will, without a spell. Her animagus is a panda. Gyeoul does not have a patronus as of yet.
- Winter has the ability to use nonverbal magic as well as verbal magic. She doesn't need a wand to produce charms or spells. However, Winter is seen being able to deflect charms, but is also able to cast high level of protection spells and heal some broken bones to a certain extent. She can use Martical Magic when teaching her students, or those who wishes to be taught under her.
- She has the ability to fly without support of a broom or any other object. Winter is a skillful duelist because of her specialist area in martial arts and physical combats. She can wield most weapons, magical or muggle.
- Winter, also known as Valkyrie, loves magical creatures and is seen usually with them, approaching them, and caring for them, big or small. She finds them easier to converse with as when she is in her Animagus form, she studies the other creatures in depth and starts to communicate and understand them slowly in both human and animal form.
- Gyeoul has nightmares constantly, sometimes she screams herself awake. So, most nights, she finds herself not sleeping, as she has insomnia.
- Her boggart is herself, becoming a murderer, and that what she had done in her past was because of her determination and drive to want to be better and to get more "power" to be the daughter her parents always wanted, or the "son" their parents always wanted.
- Gyeoul doesn't know her amortentia scent because she is naive in the romance department. But, if she had to decide, her amortentia scent is jasmine tea and cherry blossoms.
