CONCEPTS
A.R.K.S
Artificial Reality Kinetic System (ARKS), is a set of equipment that are needed to run Frangible. The primary equipment includes a bodysuit and the Hybrid Optical-based Surrogate Tracker (HOST) helmet. Only the latter is needed for a passive VR observer experience - such as spectating a game. Thanks to widespread distribution of the gear many years ago that complemented the rise of virtual gaming, ARKS are available for rent at designated ARKS gyms for local services. ARKS functions as a means of protection and gameplay immersion. The suit registers interactions between players and the environment. Shrapnels, abrasions, wounds, or wading through water, to name a few, will cause the suit to tighten up and emulate the weight upon the affected area - simulating sustained injuries or actions in-game. At the same time, the HOST helmet grants the player perception and peripheral awareness, as well as serving as a medium to access heads-up display systems (inventory, settings, and minimaps, etc.).
H.U.D
The heads-up display includes various panels that can be accessed via voice-activation or motion-based holograms. Players may customize their characters, purchase in-game items, hangout with other players, or hit the firing range to test out a variety of weapons.
In combat, the HUD displays a variety of information that aids the player in their match. The most notable functions are as follows:
-A translucent chat log at the top-left corner of the screen that can be minimalized.
-A ticket or point tracker for different teams at the top-center.
-A killfeed log at the top-right corner of the screen.
-A minimap that can be expanded to a full-scale map at the bottom-left, as well as the status of their squadmates.
-A weapon-cycler and munition indicator at the bottom right.
*Most of these functions are disabled in Hardcore or Tournament matches, prompting the operator to manually bring up their browser UI for these functions - which will hinder peripheral visions.
Built-in functions:
MARKER - Automatically mark last known position of one enemy as long as one member of the team has direct visual on target and simply pointing in the same direction. This can be done manually to mark other objectives or landmarks.
NIGHTVISIONS - Built-in gadget to enable vision in low-visibility environment. (Only available for Night maps)
PERISCOPE - Integrated binocular vision to perform long-range reconaissance.
GAMEPLAY
GAMEPLAY
Like previous first-person shooters, Frangible is a straight-forward point-and-shoot game. While the game has helped with obesity problems, the primary goal is to have fun. Train hard and you might make something out for yourself. More importantly, teamwork makes the dreamwork.
*Cardiac arrest is possible when playing Frangible. Ask your doctor if Frangible is right for you before exerting yourself. This has already been made clear, so get off our backs with your lawsuits.
AUTHENTICITY
Advised by a team of firearms expert, and optimized for gameplay balance by Tritical staff, in-game weapons have a certain percentage of malfunctioning (such as stoppage or hangfire). Players can inspect their weapons, which will indicate the issue and allow them to clear the malfunction via a procedural minigame which can take less than a minute overall depending on the severity. It is worth noting that environments can also affect firearms both positively (slower overheat buildup in colder climate) or negatively (stoppage when covered in mud). As such, treat your weapon with respect and it will keep you in the fight.
Environmental objects are rendered according to their real-life counterparts with various factors calculated (such as physics, mass, and density). For example, a 9mm will not be able to penetrate a concrete wall, but will create enough impact holes that allow a player to use as a peep-hole, or a .50 caliber round incapacitating a player behind a soft cover such as a wooden board.
PLAYER CUSTOMIZATION
Within Frangible, gunplay is the primary element that determines the victory and defeat of a player. Customizable gears such as outfit or load-bearing equipment are purely aesthetic, and does not buff a player's stats. This decision was made by Tritical to allow players the freedom of expression. Using ARKS's body-captured sensors, the player's gears reflect realistic fitting and excellent tesselation rendering. Though some creative players may also use their cosmetic gears to their advantage - such as wearing an all-white outfit to blend into their environment on snow maps like Edelweiss. Overall, the player's avatar comes with over thousands of outfits and gears to best represent them and does not affect their gameplay performance.
"Look, you can T-Bag your foe in a bunnysuit or whatever. Let me be absolutely clear about this - no stats on gears. This isn't HELAS or White Oasis. This is a final decision on our end. Don't blame your avatar, it's all skill issues - so get good or don't."
- CME Spokesman Peter Saborland, E5 Convention September 2039.
ARKS ARENAS
Most major cities have one or two arenas, built and funded by Tritical and CME, to host the local Frangible Seasonal Championship. These arenas span around three football stadiums, accompanied by multiple floors with tracking monitors for a larger audience that wish to see their idols in action. The center field is a reflective screen that simulates the in-game visuals on a broader map from a bird’s eye view. Audiences are equipped with on-site HOSTs to change camera angles and track their favorite players as the battle rages on. Ironically, it is paying for a seat just to watch the tournament from an on-site headset. At the very least, it encourages many to step outside of their home, and for the zealous fans - a chance to get an autograph from their idols.
ARKS Centers and smaller arenas also exist for more or less the same purpose, for casual net-cafe gamers or community practice. After all, Frangible is not the only game out there - but that is another story for another time.
RANKINGS & DETACHMENTS
RANKINGS
Like most FPS games, Frangible has a personal player ranking system (Global Solo Rank), as well as a detachment (Global Detachment Rank) function that allows players to form gaming clans and communities. The ranking system would determine matchmaking and tournament events that one is eligible for. While community-hosted tournaments are common for joint-exercises, the only way to progress in the global ranking system is to participate in Tritical-hosted competitions and events. Registration follows a strict filtering checklist that notifies those eligible for the events, so it is safe to assume that these official competitions and events are akin to proving grounds for many players around the world.
Renowned detachments, often referred to as “Pros”, are often sponsored by Tritical’s shareholders, with travel costs and allowances accounted for. With the rise of virtual reality’s popularity, corporate investments and ventures shifted towards the only thing that matters in the eyes of affordable consumers - Frangible. In return, it gave many a reason to train hard and attach themselves to detachments for monetary pursuits, and the glory that comes with it. Vice versa, talented players are often sought after by various detachments in order to help their rise in the ranks as a unit.
CASUAL MATCH VS. PRO MATCH
Casual Matches refer to public and private matches that are not hosted by Tritical. Any player, solo or a part of a detachment, can quickly find a match online. Casual matches allow players to advance their personal rank (GSR) and unlock their arsenal. From average Frangible enthusiasts to hardcore streamers, casual matches are often considered the grinding field for newbies and veterans alike. From time to time, Detachments may feel the need to challenge their near-peer adversaries, which is available via privately-hosted matches overseen by a mediate referee. These private matches are the proving grounds for aspiring detachments and players that wish to showcase their skills, while some are specifically created for joint-detachment exercises as part of a larger alliance. Either way, private matches can be hosted with or without a wager prize to encourage participation.
Pro Matches refer to team-level public matches that are hosted and overseen by Tritical, typically part of a Seasonal Tournament Championship event. This is the only time where a detachment could advance their GDR. As Frangible was conceived with teamwork and sportsmanship in mind, Seasonal Tournaments are currently restricted to promote outstanding Detachments. While this is the case, it also presents opportunities for many corporations to promote themselves therein.
In Seasonal Tournaments, detachments are able to advance their Global Detachment Ranking - with all detachments eligible for registration. Depending on the Tournament’s association and its terms, rewards may vary - with the triumphant detachment holding onto their newfound GDR until the next Season. To ensure a secure and fair environment for detachments involved, they are often flown into the chosen Arena and must use on-site ARKS - which are vetted and maintained by Tritical staff themselves. Accompanied by strict security measures, Pro Players must abide by their Detachment Contracts and NDA/Compliance terms (refer to Character Sheets thread for more information).
PLAYER TIERS CLASSIFICATIONS
Tier-4 (Initiates)
The casual tier for those that simply bought the game for fun or it was on Christmas sales. This is the most common tier for quick match-ups. While some may possess low GSR, their performance within a detachment is measured, in the case of exceptional teamwork capabilities. This inspires many to take on more responsibilities, as it helps to bring out leadership abilities in those that would otherwise be easily skipped simply by their ranks alone. Following the defeat of Astral Dynamix in Season 1’s Grand Finale at the hands of a Tier-4 operator from Zaranitsa, the latter's legendary feat gave rise to a renewed recruitment process for many sponsored detachments. Tier 4 (Initiates) often form the backbone of any detachment, and act as a reserve pool for specialized training programs.
Tier-3 (Expert)
Tier-3 (Expert) players are usually ranked players that have been adopted by various communities with the common ground of advancing going forward. It is common to see small competitive detachments formed at this tier for official matches and locally-organized prizes. This tier of gameplay requires players and their detachment mates to prioritize participation in official matches in order to climb the GDR.
Tier-2 (Elite)
This tier consists of talented players that have either played since the beta or have been vetted by the bigger detachments in their area, with hopes of taking on the mantle of renowned units (such as Iskandar 5). Specific Tier-2 teams are usually formed as reserve teams to existing “official” detachments, often led by a coach. Tier-2 teams usually possess a high level of unit cohesion and prioritizes teamwork in an almost military-like fashion. Tier-2 is often deemed as a proving and training ground for a prominent network of Tier-1 Detachments.
Tier-1 (Legendary)
The epochal players of Frangible that have clawed their way to the top. These apex predators form the backbone of corporate-ran detachments and represent the best of the best. By sheer luck, profound skills, or social prowess, Tier-1 players possess a modicum of weight to their usernames, as they represent not only themselves, but also the face of many corporate shareholders. Tier-1 players must sign a contract with a team in order to participate in Tier-1 Tournaments.
FIRETEAMS
Fireteams are 4-person squads designed for tactical gameplay. Upon joining a match, a player can form their own fireteam to play with friends, or is automatically assigned one when quickmatching. At a Detachment level, Fireteams are organized for training new players and facilitating a sense of unit cohesion. Over time, particularly in Tournaments, Fireteams often form their own identities and distinguishes themselves as a renowned unit within a Detachment. While Detachments represent the players involved on a marketing scale, Fireteams are ultimately responsible for separating the wheat from the chaff. Iskandar 5 is one such example, represents one of the best fireteam in-game.
GLOBAL SOLO RANKING (GSR)
The primary ranking that allows players worldwide to climb the ladder. GSR often dictates a player’s independent abilities, and is among the primary factors of matches’ filtering process. In some competitions, GSR can determine rewards calculated for the recipients. GSR only advances a player’s personal level and ranking, allowing them to unlock weapon attachments and blueprints. However, they are not considered official Pro players, and will not be able to participate in Seasonal Tournament matches - which requires a Detachment to join. GSR overall serves as a place for scouting companies and sponsors.
GLOBAL DETACHMENT RANKING (GDR)
Upon the global stage resides the GDR for aspiring clans and gaming communities. Similar to classic guild systems, Detachments are measured by a variety of factors, with their ranks acting as a badge of honor. Within detachment ranks, players are classified by their performance within the group, measured and appointed by however their detachment leader deems suitable for the hierarchical structure. As such, it is common to see a Detachment divided into different fireteams to help categorize and organize a detachment’s manpower allocations (primary competition fireteams or reserves) for major event operations.
Due to the ARKS’s strict compliance and identity-theft countermeasures, as well as Frangible’s gradual progression requirements, Tritical vets all players prior to and after the event in order to snuff out smurf accounts and mercs (surrogate accounts). If found, they are banned from participating in any future official competitions.

MAPS

MAP FEATURES
There are different kinds of terrain and situations that players are able to play in, heavily affecting the strategies of anyone participating. Things like time of the day and visibility-scale are part of it. These are randomly selected during the beginning of the match, forcing players to adapt. As for maps, ENDGAME's default four boasts a decent variety, with arenas and gyms often making ones specific to their area.
D.E.M (DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT MECHANIC)
D.E.M (Dynamic Environment Mechanic), also called DME (Dynamic Map Environment), is an integrated module feature in Frangible that allows the battlefield conditions to change. Pushing Peripheral 1.0 Engine to its limits, environmental destruction by collisions, bullets, and certain weapon types was made possible. Following the release of the open beta in late September 2039, Tritical unveiled DEM’s concept such as dense fog and snowstorm on Edelweiss, as well as lightning storms and flood zones in September Snow that alters the landscape. DEM is randomly generated per map, and can affect players both positively and negatively. Those that fails to adapt will find themselves handicapped by their environment, while the flexible can use DEM (such as dense fogs to conceal their movement) to their advantage. DEM ranges from small to huge changes to the environment around the player.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES
Randomly generated per map, there are several buildable parts that can be collected and assembled by players to create makeshift weapons, attachments or emplacements. A checklist of combined parts will appear upon finding one, giving the players a general idea of what they can build out of it.
GAME MODES
TDM Team Deathmatch (TDM)
Reach the score limit set by the server by accumulating an amount of kills equal to the score limit. Players are split into two teams. Weapon and attachment restrictions dependent on server settings.
TDM Casual: Solo players are assigned a random squad upon joining.
TDM Pro: Limited HUD with minimap disabled. No respawns.
Drop Zone (DZ)
Paradrop into an unstable war zone and survive to win. Upon landing, players must scavenge for weapons, ammunition and vehicles. As the match progresses, radioactive storms will encircle and shrink the map, obstructing vision and inflicting damage on those caught in it. As players attempt to survive the storm, they must engage other players until the last squad or player is left standing. Occasionally, supply drops make their appearance to aid players on the ground and are marked on every player’s map - containing ammunition and sometimes a vehicle. No respawns upon death.
DZ Casual: Squads are limited to four players.
DZ Pro: Detachments are limited to one squad of four players. Limited HUD with minimap disabled.
Spearhead (SPH)
Players are split into two teams - one attacking and one defending. Defending teams possess several sectors with objectives scattered within that the attackers must neutralize and capture. Sectors are neutralized upon the capture of these objectives, forcing the defenders to withdraw to the next sector. Defenders that do not withdraw from the previous sector in time will be marked on the minimap for the attacker, and will replenish extra tickets to attacker when incapacitated.
Attackers win when all sectors are neutralized.
Defenders win when the Attackers run out of tickets.
SPH Casual: Random support equipment will arrive when a certain amount of time has passed for Attackers.
SPH Pro: Limited HUD with minimap disabled. No respawns.
Courier (RUN)
A player is chosen among many as a Courier to carry intel following a pre-match timer, and must make their way towards the extraction point. They are given extra protection and bonus perks to survive against their assailants. The rest of the hunting team must take down the Courier before they escape. Minimaps and detection perks are disabled - rely on coordination and instincts to hunt down the Courier.
RUN Casual: Courier's minimap actively detects players within 10 meters. Limited HUD for hunters.
RUN Pro: Courier is assigned 1 squad mate (Tournament). Limited HUD for couriers and hunters. No respawns.
Joint-Ops (COOP)
Joint-Operations are diverse PvE missions that pit players against AI opposing forces. Players, regardless of their detachments, must work together to overcome the enemy and complete the primary objectives. Primary objectives vary per map. All players begin with their chosen loadout, with the opportunity to obtain various map-unique support as the mission progresses. Incapacitated players can be revived before bleeding out. Points can be accumulated dependent on player's feat and can be traded at checkpoints for upgrades and map-unique equipment. All items and upgrades obtained are lost upon death.
COOP Casual: Solo players are assigned a random squad upon joining.
COOP Pro: Limited HUD with minimap disabled. No respawns after bleeding out.

LOADOUTS
-
OVERVIEW
LOADOUT SLOTS
Operators are able to select and customize what equipment they wish to use on the field. Certain weapons will determine their weight and mobility in-game, so take heed of your weapon's class and customize them accordingly to adjust your playstyle accordingly. An operator is able to carry three categories of equipment on them:
1. Primary: Your operator's main weapon.
2. Secondary: The fallback weapon in a pinch.
3. Gadgets: Auxiliary equipment to turn the tide of battle or keep your team in the fight longer.
WEAPON CUSTOMIZATION
While physical conditioning may keep you in the field for a long time, every operator must be able to fully realize their weapon's potentials. Find the right weapon that caters to your playstyle and customize your them in Gunsmith to enhance your fighting abilities. Prior to a match, players may customize their weapon in the gunsmith before locking in.
Every weapon has 7 customizable slots:
1. Muzzle (Suppressors, muzzle brakes, silencers, compensators, etc.)
2. Barrel (Long barrel, SBR barrel, integrated suppressors, etc.)
3. Overbarrel (Flashlights, lasers, IR lasers, etc.)
4. Underbarrel (Foregrips, grenade launchers, underbarrel shotguns, etc.)
5. Magazine (Short magazines, extended magazines, taped magazines, etc.)
6. Optic (Magnified optics, high-powered scopes, reflex, holographic, etc.)
7. Stock (Fixed stock, adjustable stock, folded/removed stock, etc.)
WEAPON MASTERY & BLUEPRINTS
Weapon mastery allows players to familiarize themselves with their chosen weapons. There are some undisclosed features that allow players to take advantage of during gameplay, so it is encouraged to train with the weapon they prefer. Throughout different matches, players are able to unlock rare attachments and certain blueprints upon ranking up their weapons' mastery. Blueprints allow players to modify their weapon and opt for a different application or technique. Blueprints are diverse in nature, with certain blueprints allowing a platform to take on different cartridges like kit conversions in real life. Rewards for official matches vary and completely random, requiring the players to play extensively to obtain the desired blueprint.
*Players with duplicates can sell them on the store for in-game currency or lease it to a friend for trial testing (effect lasting 1 day).
*Weapons mastery also determine how fast your character can clear a weapon malfunction - particularly in taxing environment which can affect a weapon's performance and durability.
STAKES WAGER MATCH
In 1v1 Wager Matches, players can throw a blueprint/weapon/attachment into the supply crate. The winner of the match will be able to keep their staked item, while obtaining the loser's staked item.

MOMULAND LTD.
Chairwoman Katya Nikishina
Momuland is a prominent empire within the corporate world, with its subsidiaries found all over the world. With Frangible's release being a huge success, business opportunities with Momuland began to soar, ushering in an age of opportunities for Momuland enterprise with [ZARA]. Needless to say, Momuland was responsible for Frangible's global marketing and advertisement. Driven purely by their passion for gaming, as Nikishina claimed in an interview, Zaranitsa is considered her primary source of unadulterated joy. Often described as an eccentric aesthete and businesswoman, Nikishina's brilliant smile masks her ruthless business venture tactics and lethal political influence.
Despite this, Momuland has since accumulated growing influence over Tritical, thanks to her youthful influencer activity on the mainstream media that stole the hearts of many young gamers. With the world fixated on Frangible’s development, Nikishina quickly took advantage of the market, where her gamble worked flawlessly - earning Momuland a secure spot within Tritical with over twenty-five percent share in the project. As the dominant force in Tritical’s corporate politics, Nikishina made sure to keep her peers in check, with Zaranitsa often considered as her death squad in the virtual realm.
JIANYE GROUP
Director Irene Lai
Jianye Group is a Hong-Kong based conglomerate that has stakes within Tritical with its fruitful investments via a partnership project with CME. When the latter acquired publishing rights for Frangible, Tritical quickly became Jianye’s new front against its long-time rivals - Momuland and Ignis. With the popularity of Frangible skyrocketing since its release, Jianye has been actively seeking various detachments to fund, while promoting the game with their sponsored detachment’s successes. Their proliferated investment is aimed at a self-regulating environment for future projects via virtual reality products. As Momuland’s biggest rival in Asia, Jianye Group is poised on keeping the former’s influence within Tritical in check. With [ECHO] acting as their foothold in the virtual realm, Jianye is looking for an alternative route to win not just Frangible, but Tritical as well.
IGNIS GmbH
Chief Director Heinrich Hoffmann
Surpassing the expectations of many, [KSL] caught the attention of Ignis. Looking for a way to capitalize on Momuland’s gains in Season 1, Ignis funded the Kingslayers, rebranding them as the former’s task force to compete with the other shareholders within Tritical. In an age where gamers are the bread and butter of corporate expansions, Ignis is keen on expanding their business by exploring this new market avenue. While far from a gaming enthusiast, Hoffmann's invested capital and time in [KSL] is well-reported by the media. Though Ignis itself is far from a shining star when compared to Momuland and Jianye.
LIBERTY TRUST LTD.
President Jon Bellington
A gaming group led by a small business owner, whose pensions were used to form Bell & Friends. Following an upload of a viral gaming compilation clip showcasing XBelligerentX’s comedic narration of their playthrough, Bellington became somewhat of an internet sensation. Their MoGram profile has over 500,000 followers. Described as a cool and benevolent player by their peers, it prompted XBelligerentX to open a detachment for those that sought his counsel and shared his playstyle.
Unlike the big companies that funds detachments for public relations and major marketing, Jon's investment in [BF] is meant for setting up private servers for players to hang out, while raising attentions with certain community service events to help out veterans and homeless shelters. Donations made to the detachments are then assigned to soup kitchens and global charity organizations. Liberty Trust is a small business altogether with little ambitions to wrestle over control of Frangible.
