Sloth, Second Circle, the Circle of Fevered Dreams
The Principle of Self: I am alone
This Circle is always close. Just step out of the light, and you're there. It is Hell's Night, but since the Circle of Pride would never stop shining, it exists in the shadows. It is not to be confused with the darkness outside Hell, where it cannot exist. It is a shifting realm of dreams and nightmares, where reality is malleable, sounds become muffled or too-loud, edges blur, distances are uncertain, and motes of colour drift through the air. The Slothful are the lore-keepers of Hell, the most puissant in terms of mystical power, the information brokers, spies, and drug-dealers.
Sloth is one of least concrete, most variable Circles, though many of its inhabitants tend to simply steal some of their images from the dreams of mortals.
Aesthetics and Associations: Lepidopterae, the colours purple, green, and blue, darkness, dreams, amphibians and worms, the season of Autumn, lockets, scrolls, and petals, immateriality, uncertainty and obfuscation.
