World-Renowned Dawdler
As a new age of industry and machine dawns, factories are born throughout the continents. Young men start businesses and become wealthy tycoons who pass their legacy on to their descendants, their companies growing immensely with each new generation.
There is a gap between the wealthy and the poor, the lower classes working in potentially hazardous mines or factories for peanuts, while the rich watch from their offices and laugh. They mingle with their own kind, leaving very small chances of a third-class man or woman marrying into riches.
With the wealthy come lavish parties, mansions, maids and butlers, fine clothes and fine wine. On the opposite side of the spectrum is labour, struggle, loans and debt, tattered clothes and being looked down upon.
A man, who went by the name of Jeremiah Monroe, had become one of those first business tycoons. His company was passed down to his son, then to his son's son, and then his grandson's daughter.
When she was to wed, however, it was a scandal. Not only was she going to lose the Monroe name, but she would take up the name of a poor man. The young miss Charlotte Monroe had become Charlotte Fletcher because of her decision, but the company would remain hers and, perhaps, the man who was once a worker there.
She had become pregnant before long, remaining as the subject of gossip, though the doting soon-to-be parents paid no mind.
But the child was never delivered properly. Both she and the infant boy were lost, the wails of a new widower and new company owner filling the hospital. The key to Monroe Corp. is in his hands, but there are many doubts about his capability. How will the workers and wealthy onlookers react to the man's certain downward spiral?
That was longer than I wanted it to be. Anyways, this is an industrial RP (steampunk, maybe? I don't know). It's open, so long as you are literate, and more than just one-liners are preferred. Unless you are completely and utterly stumped.
Basic site rules apply, and I am A-OK with several arcs at once.

Personality:
History:
Example:
Name: Easton Fletcher
Age: 29
Appearance: Easton is tall and thin, his once lively golden brown eyes sunken and tired. His hair is black and normally at least somewhat combed, though it is unruly. The man is fairly tanned, though has gotten paler due to him getting a bit less sunlight, and he has a hint of short, scratchy stubble growing on his jaw.
Personality: Easton is very eccentric, quiet and overall volatile. He has a soft spot for certain things, such as small children, animals or particular foods, but is quite grumpy. And rightfully so, he believes. He is stubborn and often disregards the opinions of others.
History: Easton grew up in a poor family, barely scraping by throughout his early years. As he grew, his compassion and charm was his strong suit, and at the age of 21 he met his future wife. Granted, she was only 18, and she was the heiress to a large, influential company, but they were drawn to each other. Some years later, they wed, the bride deciding to throw a grand celebration which caught the attention of many. They were happy, especially when she became pregnant almost a year later. Minor difficulties arose throughout the nine months, up until the very end. Complications which the doctors could not help with, and both the young Mrs. Fletcher and the boy were lost.
He had lost a wife and son and gained millions of dollars and a company. Half a year later, he spends his time holed up in his new office, complaining to his secretary and passing out on his desk. How unprofessional.
