So, in order to have some sort of "control", he has been invited to share his unique magic to them and to become a part of the Aurors. So, the Ministry gave him a different "test"]

BACKGROUND:


Born into a rich, culturally diverse, city, Ezra absolutely loves where he was raised: New Orleans, which is also known as The Big Easy. Ezra lives downtown New Orleans in the French Quarter where music and culture comes to life. Not only is New Orleans known for being the melting pot of different cultures and people, but also the different religious beliefs and supernaturals that resides there. Of course, those who do not have the ability or do not have magic would not believe in the supernaturals, but they are quite abundant in New Orleans, despite popular belief of "supernaturals" not being existent. Nevertheless, Ezra's life there wasn't always an easy breeze but it was a good life. He was raised to be a gentleman and brought up in a religious household. When Ezra was born, his parents, who were devout Jews called Ezra a "miracle" because it took his mother a while before she ever got pregnant, no matter how hard they tried. It wasn't until 10 years later after his parents got married, was she able to bear a child. His mother was a very patient and loving woman and his father was a rather quiet and conserved man. He never really spoke about his feelings but when he did speak it was always to scold Ezra, however Ezra knew his father loved him from the little things his father would do for him. Of course, nothing ever beats a mother's life for her own child. The family was quaint and happy despite the rowdiness and fun-filled area they were living in. Not a day passes by that something extremely exciting doesn't happen. However, despite Ezra's loudness he actually enjoys the early mornings before the sun his out. His favorite pastime is looking out on the balcony of his quaint two story house in the Quarter when the world is still asleep yet starting to wake up to begin their day. 


Although his family were devout Jews, they respected every other religions as they believe they would be respected as well. New Orleans is filled with many different culture and religion that it's incredible to see how much everyone gets along despite their differences. Nevertheless, Ezra's parents never forced him to follow in their footsteps, despite them religiously going by their faith. However, Ezra followed in his parents footstep, taking his religion and love for his faith passionately as he indulged in the ceremonies as traditions a devout Jew would have. But, at the age of 5, Ezra showed signs of being able to see things normal "humans" could not see. His magical abilities started forming slowly as he was able to lift things in the air with his mind or he started frequently spacing out more. At first his parents were didn't take notice of his abilities until Ezra spoke to his parents about their deceased grandmother. He had passed a message to his parents from her and before they knew it, their little 'miracle' baby really was a miracle. Ezra was able to set things on fire without meaning to, sometimes he was even able to change liquid into solid just by saying a small chant he found in a book. His family became thrilled at knowing their son perhaps was blessed by their Messiah to be given such magical abilities. After a while, their parents decided to keep him home-schooled when he had an encounter with a ghost that scared him when he walked past the cemetery. Ever since that encounter, he never stepped foot in a cemetary, in fear of getting attacked by the differen ghost that ventured there. As time passed on, when Ezra was not learning, he found ways to prank his neighbors and tourist people whenever they stopped by in the French Quarter. Mardi Gras was always a wild time since well . .  it was always over-crowded and one of the holidays in which New Orleans is known for. Because Ezra normally liked to prank others in his spare time, he took up baking as a past time after getting scolded so many times by his parents for using his magic in such ways. At first he wanted to see what would happen if he were to perform magic tricks in front a crowd, but his parents were beyond against that because his magic was still unstable and out of his control.


So, because of that, Ezra had been lurking around Voodoo stores such as Hex and anywhere else that he can find "witchcraft". He googled, read books, and did his research on ways that he can control his magic since  . . . he can't outright ask someone downtown to help him learn, especially since the fortune tellers weren't exactly someone he wanted to ask. He was skeptical of their abilities, but who was he to judge when he had abilities even he didn't know how to maintain. So, instead of asking someone, in fear of being accused of "witchcraft" or being "loony", he kept it to himself, as his parents had done. However, he did get some help from his deceased grandmother, whenever she appeared in front of him, or other local ghost that he found himself making bonds and connections with. As he continued practicing his abilities with any books he can lay his hands on, as well as researches he has made, Ezra slowly got the hang of it, but it wasn't until he met Vaudou and Jupiter at the age of 15. He had been walking home from work (the Pralines store) when he passed by a newly opened shop on the streets of the French Quarter. Curious, as something pulled him into the shop, it was the beginning of something new when he met Vaudou, the man who taught him everything he needed to know. Vaudou had taken him and Jupiter under his wing around the same time. It was because of Vaudou, he met his best and closest friend. They all did everything together. They went through different areas of New Orleans in which held the roots of the magic in the city. New Orleans had been one of the oldest and ancient cities that held such presence. Because of Vaudou, Ezra was taught voodo magic, tribal rituals, and a better way to communicate and connect with the "spirits" lurking around. Vaudou called himself a Traveller, one who walks from all walks of life, through it all, but nevertheless, he spoke about a Wizarding World to both Ezra and Jupiter as well as the "hierarchy" and status of that otherworld. It amazed and intrigued Ezra to no end, however, hearing that both he and Jupiter were more feared than liked made him conscience of himself. He didn't like the idea of being "labelled" or even being prejudiced against because of his non-traditional wizarding ways. But, most of all, he was protective of the fact that his best friend was a half vampire and were seen as murderers and looked upon with contempt and fear. If anything, Ezra had fun hanging out with Juju. She was the only person he could talk to and be himself around, aside from his parents and Vaudou. 


But, as time passed and things changed, Vaudou always kept him and Juju up to date of the Wizarding World as it always seemed remarkable to him. But, before he knew it, Vaudou brought dire news that didn't seem alarming at first as he always brushed it off as "it's nothing new". However, this time, the news was different, a Dark Lord was Rising to power and along with him, he's bringing his own Chosen ones and other creatures alike that were "abandoned". Vaudou told stories of the Dark Lord who must not be name and the Wizarding War, but hearing that another Darkness is Rising to power made Ezra antsy. Soon enough, he feared for his parent's safety as the goal was to exterminate all muggles, which means all non-magical folks. Before he knew it, his parents became manipulated with the idea that this.  . Darkness was the Messiah who has come to them, I mean, why wouldn't they believe it, especially since their son is a miracle, right? Angered, hurt, and wanting to protect his parents as well as other innocence beings, Ezra's goal was to join the Aurors, the group that Vaudou had talked about that could potentially help right the wrongdoings of this Cruel Wizard. Because of his parent's faithfulness to their religion, the Wizard manipulated them and decided to control them in such a way. But, as luck would have it, a letter came for him in the male from the Ministry of Magic that requested his presence. At first, Ezra was hesitate, especially since Juju had been reluctant to join forces with beings who seemed them as "pest" and beneath them, but his resolved was amped when his parents became subjugated to such cruelty. Because of these reasons, Ezra just recently joined the Aurors after passing so many different examinations and test that was set up to see if he was truly a remarkable non-traditional wizard.


PERSONA:


"Laissez les bons temps rouler"


Standing at six feet and two inches, Ezra is abnormally tall for his age, but nevertheless, his long legs are toned as he's a great runner. He's built and toned as he's not too bulky and he isn't too muscled. There's still some healthy skin for him to keep warm when it's cold. Ezra is warm-hearted and has body heat like no other. Although Ezra has an athletic build, he's still cuddly and will use his arms to protect those dear to him. He has olive tanned skin with beautiful brown hazel eyes. Everything about him just screams sincerity and warmth because of his approachable looks. It's not a lie that he's quite charming and easy on the eyes because of how handsome he is. At the same time, his smile is quite contagious as his energetic aura captures those around him. On his chest lies a tattoo of the Star of David to symbolize is faith as well as religion. Surprisingly, when he parents saw the marking, they didn't scowl at it too much since the tattoo wasn't derogatory or "waste of space" as it held an important significance to them. 


With a smile on his face, his pearly whites are always shown as he takes good care of his teeth and his hygiene. He has to shower at least twice a day and brush his teeth twice a day. He isn't high maintanence but he likes to look and smell fresh and clean. Ezra's hair is normally short as he likes his hair short without worrying about sweating because of the heat.  Although Ezra is tall in stature, he's a big softy at heart as he wouldn't hurt a fly, unless well, it's by reflex though he rarely feels a mosquito bite.  His finger nails are short as his mom tends to file them and fix it up for him, though after watching them most of the time, he's able to do his own nail but chooses not to because he likes to be pampered by his mom. He can be a mommy's boy to a certain extent. Because Ezra is from America, specifically New Orleans, he has a thick accent and is used to saying "slangs"  from New Orleans that may be confusing to others who probably have not been to New Orleans or heard of its culture. 


STRENGTHS:


[SIZE= 13px]With an optimistic personality, Ezra is able to attack the world with his head held high. Anything that comes his way, he's able to face it head on, without cowering in fear. Ezra is always ready for a challenge and would never back down from a "fight". He is rarely ever seen angry as he has a laid-back and "chill" type of personality. But nevertheless he's a lover and not a fighter, as he tends to like friendly competition and friendly banters than rather serious, abrupt ones. He's very easy-going and would go with the flow since he's quite easy to please. But that being said, he's quite protective of those he's fond of and close to, which means well, practically everyone he meets. Once he builds a bond or sort of connection with someone, you can bet your bottom dollar that you've found a friend for life. He never leaves a man behind and will always make sure his friends are okay. Ezra is compassionate and very consider of others, especially of their emotions and well-being. He's open and welcomes everyone in a warm hug. Ezra can be quite the hugger especially when given the chance. He's a talkative young man and likes having fun with others. Being bored is not his forge and enjoys company as he hates being alone. Whenever Ezra is around, he can guarantee that everyone will always leave with a smile on their face because he loves to make others laugh and smile. Optimism was always his strong suit as well as being a supportive person.[/SIZE]


Ezra doesn't make snide remarks, but he tends to be really expressive of how he feels through facial expressions. He can be quite child-like because of his behavior but nevertheless he will always keep his upbeat personality. Most of the time, he's compared to a puppy because of his low attention span as he jumps from one conversation or idea to the next. At the same time, every minute and every hour is fun time, which means there's no stopping this ball of energy. His mood rarely dampens as he's aware of his cheeriness and likes spreading happiness to others. Although Ezra was brought up in a devout religious faith: Judaism, he's more laid back and tends to be more open minded than his parents. Regardless, he's respectful and likes to broaden his mind. However, to teach Ezra, the lesson has to interactive rather than lectures because his mind tends to wander. Because Ezra is able to feel the presence of other beings and see the aura of others, Ezra is able to tell who's near him. At the same time, because he hears voices in his head from ghost or other spiritual aspects, Ezra can sometimes warn others of dangers. On another note, Ezra is good at defense because he box as a hobby to let off steam as well as bake to let out his emotions. ((He's a great drinker and rarely gets drunk because of his alcohol tolerance)).


WEAKNESSES:


Because Ezra is considerate of his friends, he tends to push himself onto his friends to make sure they're all okay. Sometimes it can come to the point of being too nosy and in someone's personal space. Because Ezra is soft hearted he is prone to being manipulated or even taken advantage of because of his kind heart. Nevertheless, he never fails to give up and will always give others a second chance even if they've hurt him so many times. He hates being alone and relies on other people for company. Because Ezra takes things day by day and doesn't think ahead, he is usually prone to forgetting important dates so he tends to write down his schedule on paper and religiously checks it everyday to make sure he doesn't forget anything important. Ezra never takes "no" for an answer (unless it's something important) and will always "argue" or become really stubborn in some situations. Because Ezra takes care of both his family and friends, he disregards himself because he's such a busybody. He doesn't mind since he cares for others deeply and knowing how much it would affect him to see them hurt or sad in any way is worth the trouble of fussing over them than him.


Because Ezra puts himself forward and treats other better than he does himself, Ezra doesn't know how to indulge himself or rather be selfish. He's a very generous and giving person, so if he gets the attention or recognition, he tends to get nervous and runs away from the spotlight. Although competitions are his niche, winning isn't his priority, it's just having fun with the person he's competing against. Ezra can be a little sensitive, especially on the topic of being prejudiced against because of his religion, ethnicity, and his own species. The most touchy subject to Ezra is his non-traditional wizarding abilities. He hates being hurt and in pain, so he rarely would want to inflict any pain on others. Because of his soft heart, Ezra is seen as weak. Ezra's abilities are different from most and he doesn't like being the "odd" one out. Although he tries to be "normal", he can't do it and so whenever he's not himself, he likes to bake, box, or go for a run to cool off. He doesn't like relying on others and would rather listen to other people's problem than his own. Once he's set his mind on something he can be very stubborn and unwilling to change his mind on it. Although he rarely gets drunk and emotional, Ezra drowns his sorrows through drinking sometimes if boxing or baking doesn't work. But, the one way to get to his heart is sweets. Although he likes to sing, he's not a very good singer as he's gone deaf but regardless he has fun with it anyways. Ezra can spazz out a lot of times, forgetting things he's supposed to do. As he's sensitive, Ezra can be a little dramatic as he tends to say his thoughts out loud.


FATAL FLAW:


Because Ezra is "for the people", he's prone to sacrificing himself to protect the ones he loves. However at the same time, his family is his weakness. When he isn't in the right state of mind and when he family or even his important ones are in danger, he may become irrational and will do anything and everything to protect them. Ezra may be even swayed and manipulated by the dark side because of his close connection to "death" or the "spirit" world. He doesn't have limits to his magical abilities because he's still finding out about them slowly he surely. So, when his emotions aren't in check, they will go haywired unexpectedly. 


MISCELLANEOUS:


Langiappes:


- Ezra is a non-traditional wizard, which means he doesn't use a wand for magic, or rather a wand at all. He uses wandless magic, or he uses objects or mediums that helps stabilize his magic. He can see ghost or rather spirits of beings and hear voices that are heard by those in the afterlife. He uses magic that is referred to as "voodoo" or tribal magic. Spell books and enchantments are his resources as he was homeschooled.


- He can't produce a Patronus yet until he gets his wand which will happen later on as he develops. 


- His boggart is witnessing the torture and murder of his parents 


- In the Mirror of Eised, Ezra would most likely see his mind, Juju's kind, and those of "lower" ranking free of their binds and seen as equals.


- Ezra's Amortentia scent is the smell of the forest, autumn leaves, and the crispy air.
