This story is based on the RP Project, Mortal Instruments: Age of Chaos where there will be many warfare of the battle. The idea comes crossed up to my mind and it's the first i join many of series to this story. The story could be progressed based on the mood, probably between weeks to month depend on the situation.

It's been three month since the war has been started and yet Carlisle Coalition Army shows their ferocious assault towards Alvarez Empire and Kingdom who support the Empire itself. The Grand Commander, Margaretha Sorin is a legend of Carlisle itself and her story has been heard by many Kingdoms and Empire. The Emperor of Alvarez wishes to possess her with any means necessary while also he aims to obtain the main power of Carlisle, Lumen Histoire that was sealed and only Margaretha can unseal the Lumen Histoire.


Elves, Humans, Knights, Magicians, every one of them that joins Carlisle Coalition Army knew well about the reputation and components of the Army itself. From Lucia Melrose as the equip magic master, Margaretha Sorin the only person who wields Sacred Magic and Gerard Raine, the mysterious person that always makes things smooth until every officers that have high reputation because of their prowessness.


In the West of Escarion, Carlisle Army is preparing to fight Alvarez Coalition Army. Carlisle Army seize Escarion town along with the fortress as well and now they are preparing for siege as Imperial Army are setting up siege weapons and they are united with the undeads and those who opposes Carlisle. Carlisle Army that was avaiable to fight was 15,000 while Imperial Army was around 40,000 include a thousand Necromancer to reinforce the flesh corpses that can be used to rise as the undead.


Meantime in the Emperor's palace, the Emperor are receiving report that Carlisle has seize Escarion which makes him worried about his expansion due to ferocity of the Commanders of Carlisle itself. The most threatened person is Margaretha Sorin and Gerard Raine who he deemed as a heads and tails coin.


"Your Majesty, you still thinking about the Commanders of Carlisle..?"


A man with a hood that looks like an old man, but the Emperor recognized him as a Dragon Tamer, Drekavac. He know what Drekavac mean while he was thinking about the three Commanders of Carlisle itself. He nodded lightly as he's still feel mocked because of Carlisle actions.


"Indeed, in fact i was looking forward to capture the only person who wields Sacred Magic.. I still remember how she can defeat a space magic with her power of the heaven itself that surpasses space magic. For me she's not an ordinary woman or mage... I believe she was a Valkyrie that will fight to protect those who are innocent.."


Drekavac nodded in agreement.


"I cannot send my Officers to irritate her in a while.. My whole Officers are all injured, Your Majesty.."


Raising his eyebrow, the Emperor looks at Drekavac curiously.


"How? Because of her?"


"No, it's because of both Sacred Magic and that dark person.."


The Emperor sighs a bit as he felt dumbfounded a bit but he know who is the dark person and he cannot be trusted well.


"I need to ensure she was captured because she is our top priority in order to bring the glory of Alvarez Empire.. But with this state i think we need to deploy some elite soldiers in order to delay their movements while we continue the expansion on other directions"

Meanwhile on the battlefield, Margaretha looks at the Imperial Army and the Undead Scourge who already lay down siege on Escarion Fortress, behind the fortress lies a town that they just liberated. She almost vomit when she saw the madness of the Emperor of Alvarez itself by looking at the corpses was treated very gruelsome and even no one dare to touch it as they fear of the plague itself.


"Shandris, get the archers on the rooftop of the fort and watch for both air and ground attack.. If they attack together suppress the air first"


The archer with the hood nodded while telling her troops to be prepared.


"As you command, your excellency.."


She was wondering about Gerard who hasn't return yet from the front lines, probably he will do such several things that will make him released from his position as Chrono Log Commander however what she quite concern is about Lucia Melrose who believe have a connection to Gerard Raine. She wonder if they are siblings or other else but she will investigate it naturally through time in order to prevent suspiciosness from both Lucia and Gerard.


Conrad reports to Margaretha for the upcoming situation.


"We'll wait as you command, Your Excellency.. Our troops are in position and the gates are closed"


Margareths thinks a while as she noticed that they are not deploying ram but if she open the gate it will be a smooth call for the undead however she already have a plan if she open the gate.


"Open the gates and let's see where they are going"


She know the Imperial Army has something on their sleeves and she told every one of the soldiers to remain alert and watch surroundings.


There could be ambushes or surprises attack from the rear and she already anticipate it by deploying several officers to intercept directly if they are coming to assault the side of the fortress.


Just like what the battle will come and what if Gerard doesn't come back in time to report the update from Alvarez Empire itself? Will the battle ends in Imperial Army Victory or Carlisle Army Victory?

Carlisle Army deploys their troops outside the gates, they will stand to guard this gate and won't advance further than this in order to maintain the perimeter and securing the battle lines. Margaretha kept half of the remaining soldiers inside the fortress in order to maintain the soldiers and preventing friendly fire from Shandris Archers.


The High Commander Latus Japelle looks at their defensive position. He realize that Carlisle Army are not advancing beyond the gates itself and he become suspicious of her defensive position.


"Sir, i suggest we go immediate attack.."


Japelle shake his head as he know something and he won't take risk despite his army was larger than Carlisle.


"No, we can't.. Don't make a frontal assault, we need to lure them out from defensive line.. If we keep pressing on, our casualties will be severe.."


His word makes sense as the officer looks at the defensive position around the fortress. It was well-fortified and they need to lure Carlisle Army to leave their battle lines in order not to be showered by arrow from the fortress wall itself.


As the Imperial Army arrives and both of the army facing each other with a distance around three hundred meters away, Margaretha knew they would go like this.


"Seems they take precaution for this..."


While mounting on her pegasus on the front line, she takes her sword and looks at the Imperial Army. They want to taunt Carlisle Army to initiate the attack, instead Sorin has ordered his men to lure them by throwing rocks and booing at them to make them drawn in to Carlisle killzone.


"Get out of here you imps!"


"You guys are cheating everyday!"


"Hey, we don't want you punks to get here!"


Angered, many Imperial Soldiers quickly charged at Carlisle Army and Japelle quickly issue Gargoyle units to attack to support them along with Necromancers as well to reinforce the battle lines and if possible shaken the morale of Carlisle Army itself.


"Now! Take them down!"


However Sorin already anticipated this, Shandris quickly gave showers of arrows to the gargoyles while some of archers that was not shooting gargoyles are ordered to suppress Imperial Army front line.


What Japelle's fear was correct, they are right at where Carlisle Army wants even several necromancers are quickly being taken down by the archers on the fortress.


"Attack from three sides!"


The Imperial Army quickly splits up to three divisions, to attack the sides and the front of fortress itself. Margaretha knew that would happen but her soldiers at the side was quite few and they have to hold the line as long as they could.


The necromancer keep rising the undeads again and become a top priority of the Carlisle Cavalry to take them out. Despite many of it are killed they're still keep coming.


"Tch.."


Carlisle Army start to take casualties, many has fallen on the battlefield and Margaretha quickly orders all units to tighten the defenses while withdrawing slowly. She have to defend Escarion Fortress by any means necessary. If the fortress fall then they will get a drawback for around fifteen kilometres away from Escarion.


"Regroup at the fortress!"


Carlisle Soldiers quickly withdraws to fortress and Japelle saw the opening of that momentum as Imperial Army continue to presses on.


"Onward! Don't let them close the gates!"


Margaretha quickly rally all soldiers inside the fortress as Shandris archers are holding the Imperial Army off. As the last person comes into the fort they quickly closes the gates, temporarily holding the Imperial Army at outside.


"We need reinforcements here, Ma'am!"


Margaretha nodded as she already knew it, she have to hold the line until Gerard and Lucia arrives with reinforcements.


"This time we have to let them siege us for a while, we need to buy time as long as we can to hold the battle lines"


The Imperial Army has began the siege of Escarion itself while Margaretha Sorin is waiting for more reinforcements She know this battle can't be win without more soldiers but she also have to suppress casualties as much as she can.


When Gerard will arrive? Who knows..

Siege of Escarion, day 3


It's been three days since the Imperial Army began sieging Escarion Fortress. Carlisle Army got no way out but their primary objective is complete, evacuating civilians from Escarion.


The casualties on Imperial Army was already quite severe despite their Commander, Latus Japelle keep ordering the Imperial Army to breach the fortress itself. The casualty of Imperial Army has already reaches ten thousand while Carlisle Army only sustaining around 500 deaths.


The supplies are start to getting low but Margaretha knew if the Imperial Army keep surrounding Escarion Fortress within next three days, Carlisle Army food supplies will never make it to the next town, Al De Baran. If Gerard was here, they can quickly reorganize the plan but without him around things are just getting worse not to mention the Necromancers are also exhausted after endless rising the fallen imperial army from the dead and risen as the undead for three days consecutive.


It should be a perfect opportunity to strike but Sorin thinks another way.


"The Necromancer is start to hit their fatigue.."


One of the officer looks at the groups of Necromancer


"Yes, but i think they will recuperate their power first before can rise them again.. The dead bodies become less and less on the battlefield.."


Margaretha nodded in agreement while looking at the Imperial Army is still camping around the fortress as many siege attempts has been failed, from siege tower until battering ram itself. Margaretha knew why they won't use catapults against Escarion fortress and she already knew why.


"They won't wreck this fortress.. If they do, they will lost their foothold to defend this fortress if we make a blitz attack.."


Meanwhile, Gerard is still leading his Special Operations troops and he went to regroup with Margaretha as soon as possible. What he know is Lucia is with Sorin and he have to make haste if he want to rendezvous with until When they reaches the other side of the forest, they saw Escarion Fortress with Carlisle Flag in it but on the other side, Imperial Army already surround Carlisle Army.


"Let's give them a big surprise.."


With just one thousand troops on his hand, Gerard quickly initiate the assault by making a rain of Black Meteor comes to the Imperial Army Camp.


When they knew Gerard is coming, the Imperial Army panicked as there are reinfrocements from the rear and attacking Imperial Army camp.


Looking at this, Japelle become furious and he order four thousand soldiers to intercept him but Gerard units are mobilizing fast and quickly overruning the left side of the camp. Seeing this as an opening, Margaretha Sorin finally orders all units to attack.


"Open the gates and attack!"


They quickly bursts out from the gates and charging right to the Imperial encampment, many are quickly routed because they never saw this coming and the reinforcement power was very rapid on the assault. It's never happen in their life as Gerard and his army managed to obliterate three thousand soldiers in less than 10 minutes and their morale continues to dropped as Carlisle Army quickly bursts out from fortress and charging to the rest of the camp section.


Looking at the tides suddenly changed to Carlisle Army favor, Japelle become furious however due to many soldiers are fleeing he quickly retreats from the battlefield.


Many Necromancers are also been slain when they panicked as they saw the Imperial Army's morale quickly plummeted. Even so, only two hundred necromancers are able to escape while the rest are killed after many skeletons and undeads of fallen soldiers has been risen to buy the necromancer time to retreat.


The Carlisle Army joys in victory as they take many loots from Imperial Camp that was abandoned by them. Margaretha looks at Gerard and she welcomes him.


"Welcome back, Gerard.. Dorian is waiting for your report.."


Gerard hands the report to Sorin personally,.


"Give it to that council by your own, you're the grand commander right? I want to see Lucia"


Margaretha sighs a bit but since it was his attitude she let him do what he want.


As the sun finish setting, the Imperial Army already routed back to Al De Baran which they knew it will be Carlisle Army's next destination. However in order to advance, they have to be supplied by at least three weeks of food supplies.


The casualties from Imperial Army from ambushes today are reaching five thousand and four hundred necromancers while Carlisle Army only suffers less than a hundred death itself. They will prepare to advance once the resupply of food supply and goods has been completed and they will move to Al De Baran where they will know the Imperial Army are waiting for them.

The triumph goes to Carlisle favor and they advanced to Al De Baran after four days of resupply and the special operations unit has once again dispatched into official mission by Dorian himself. Margaretha sense something is not right within Al De Baran but she needs to keep moving on as the soldiers are in quite high morale.


One day before departure, Escarion Town


"Are you going again, Raine?" Margaretha looks at Gerard already prepared along with his officers even after she hands him some documents as a reply from Dorian.


Gerard nodded, "Tell that old bastard to get me some specific information i want.. And for you, just take care of her.. Only you and me know who Lucia really is to me"


Margaretha makes a small sigh even she knows it, "Alright, how long you are going? Unknown again?"


Without answering Margaretha knew about that answer since she know his typical attitude, with just small sigh she let him go on his special operations mission again. Even for Sorin she won't tell what lies inside the files as Dorian wants gerard to done it as soon as possible.


Present day, Melisia Plains


Sorin already seen Al De Baran ahead but something is strange there as she can only see Al De Baran is empty and she decides to halt the advance and letting the troops rest to recuperate their stamina and fatigue. She needs to investigate Al De Baran as soon as possible because she needs to liberate one town after another.before liberating the entire Lambordia from grasp of Imperial Army.


She pick Alarius as her bodyguard again while her squad was assign in two different area, first squad is with her and second squad is between the plains and Al De Baran, acting as messenger.


"Let's move"


The Imperial Army noticed that Margaretha and her company arrives at Melisia Plains, revenge was filling them as they will avenge their loss at Battle of Escarion four days earlier. Latus Japelle looks at them as he saw a small squad was entering Al De Baran while the main force remains at rear.


"Hmm.. She won't fall for our tricks so easily.."


Knowing that Margaretha won't fall for their tricks even they already emptied the East of Al De Baran and fortify the central and the other sides with barricades.


After Sorin finds some suspiciousness over Al De Baran, knowing this was a trap she quickly retreats with her squad but a hundreds of Knights block her path of escape.


"No! It's a trap!"


On Milesia plains, as Margaretha's instructions, no one was allowed to establish camp until the field is clear and the soldiers hears many horse steps, when they look at it suddenly five thousand Imperial Army quickly ambushes them from rear flank, causing them to slightly disorganized but Conrad, Lucia and the others managed to rally them and reforming their ranks.


Meanwhile inside Al De baran, Margaretha was quite struggling to breakthrough their defenses and by utilizing some town walls she managed to escape along with her squad but she saw her army was under attack.


Japelle was quite satisfied with this, he quickly orders his regiment to attack.


"Charge!"


Knowing this is an ambush and her troops are unprepared, Margaretha order her troops to make a retreat to Faso Hill Plains.


"Retreat! Withdraw to Faso Hill Plains!"


She quickly joins up even many Imperial Soldiers are pursuing them, once reaching Faso Hill Plains the Imperial Army is still pursuing them further but Sorin quickly extend the retreat to Faso Lower Hill Plains while defending against persistent attack of Imperial Army.


Before reaching Faso Lower Hill Plains The Imperial Army stops the pursuit and retreats while Sorin looks at her troops. She was quite surprised that half of her food supply carriage has been left behind on Milesia plains, knowing this is a loss for her during an ambush by Japelle's Army.


"Reorganize the troops and set up camp here, we will wait for suppliers to arrive.. We need to hold this place for seven days"


Knowing some battle will be going for seven days considering the supplies can only last for two months before it was razed, but right now the supplies can only be lasted for a month.


Now she need to reorganize the soldiers and preparing defenses, with loss around a thousand during Ambush at Milesia Plains, the remaining soldier now was Fourteen thousand while she doesn't know how much Japelle's Army on Al De Baran.


How she can redeem this loss?
