Lucien Bloodmarch
Most days in school weren't exactly the best for Lucien, he was easy to bore and easy to piss off. He tried his best to focus at first, but as the days wore on he had grown weary and exhausted in trying, so he had taken claim to the 'class clown' trope. Well, not exactly, given he was much more sarcastic and brutal in his humor. Though today was different, the school was buzzing with news of a new student, nothing of true interest to Lucien in general. He sighed as he kicked his leg over the other, apparently the new student was in his class. How unsurprising to him. Still, he'd try and see if the person was of any interest to him.

When she walked in the door, he had to admit he was shocked, even if his face didn't show it. Rather, he kept his poker face, but when Mr.Vega told the girl to introduce herself he had to lean in with a grin. Usually he'd ignore the people in class for favor of music, if he didn't outright skip the class, but she looked quite interesting. In fact, she reminded him of..well, him! Still, that didn't change that he'd probably just mess with the girl as he did Earnest. He was friends with the other, true, but he definitely enjoyed agitating and flat out irritating the other more than anything, and he expected the same to be true of the new girl right infront of him. Lucien had to wonder if she'd even stay long, most people like her were road-rats, as he called them. Packing up every few weeks and heading off, and if that was the case he'd feel a bit bad about it.

One wouldn't think a mid-twenty year old with a 2 year old would be as jumpy and excitable, but Avery fit that bill without a doubt. Moving was an exciting thing, but spending 2 days straight in a car with a crying toddler was less exciting, and after those two days you need a pick me up that isn't caffeine pills and 5 hour energies. So, at the sight of a coffee shop in town, she nearly cried from joy, and one had to wonder if she was actually crying when she wiped her eyes. Still, she had to fix everything at the house before she could take a break. Throwing boxes into the house, and kicking them when they weren't fragile, was probably the worst idea, but here she was being too excited for her own good.

After finishing destroying putting everything inside, she paused at her daughter. Right, the poor girl was probably tired and hungry, more so hungry since they had driven through this morning to get there before 1 pm. Cafe, right? It had to have food, and it was the first day of a move, if the little toddler associated something good with the first day here she'd probably associate that this place was good... At least she hoped that was the case. Picking up the tiny toddler she hummed happily, allowing the child to point things out and question what each building was. Turns out, even after being in a car for nearly 2 days straight, toddlers had a lot of energy packed in their little bodies. She almost regretted not setting the bed up and letting them sleep for 2 days... almost. Not really.

××××××× EMILY RITTER
Just before entering the classroom, Emily ducked into the girl's bathroom to check herself out. Her dirty blonde hair was up in a messy bun, the edge of her upper eyelid streaked with black eyeliner sharp enough to kill a man and her lips painted a slightly faded shade of red. Then, she made sure her clothes were in place; a Halsey t-shirt with roses on it that had been cut short so that her stomach would show hung loose around her abdomen, but a pair of black skinny jeans hug her legs and rode high so she wouldn't get dress coded for her top. Her sneakers were dark red converse. She was totally ready.

So when she walked into the classroom and found most people staring, she wasn't even phased by it. Then, she was given the task of introducing herself before taking her seat. She rolled her eyes.

"I'm Emily," she said, shrugging a little, "Um, I would rather be at home than here. That's all I've got to say."

The teacher sighed and she went to take the empty seat in the class. Right next to a boy with silver hair. Nice.

××××××× MAT SELLA
He almost always had the same routine, but he wasn't really bothered by that in the slightest. He would get up, and if it was a weekday, he would make sure that his daughter got up and went to school, and then he would head into the Coffee Spoon and open it up for the public. And then, and hour or two later if he was scheduled to work that day, Pablo would show up and they would take turns running the cash register and bringing customers their orders. it was a simple, calm, and rather content routine that Mat would always be happy he had.

There was rarely a day where he questioned himself and the work that he did, as he knew his late wife would have been beyond proud of him and his daughter always liked hanging around the Coffee Spoon whenever she could. Even if she was just doing her homework. But he did sometimes wish something excited would happen, mainly just to keep him awake. He found himself drinking the coffee that he made a little too often to be healthy, and a little too often for him to afford, considering that he put money into the cash register every single time he drank coffee from his own shop.

He wouldn't normally pay any mind to anyone in class who sat right beside him, but she was definitely different, without a doubt. She resembled someone into the same music as him, and that excited him quite a bit. He raised a brow at her, leaning back in his chair. She definitely gave off the same sort of air as him, a 'fuck off or die' type air, which definitely made sense given her... 'introduction' if it could be called that. Lucien doubted it. Still, he offered a slight smirk in turn, crossing his arms. Class went on as usual, Mr.Vega attempting to keep the class' attention if he could, but when that failed he simple told everyone to begin reading.

Did Lucien listen, ever? No, not really. So it wasn't exactly a shocker to him, anyone around him, or even Hugo when he rather took a paper out and began writing. He knew Hugo well enough that he couldn't see him passing notes well, it was easy enough to hide it either way. Still, he wrote a simple note saying 'Welcome to hell, the name's Lucien and I'll be your tour guide. Well, not really, since I'll ask questions but, y'know. What music are you into?', before tossing it right over to her desk casually, before leaning back and acting like he hadn't been doing a thing. He offered a grin when she opened it, not a large playful one but rather a lazy, tired one that matched his posture and handwriting. Lazy and tired. He turned to the paper he was writing on, drawing to seem like he was doing something for Hugo.

She wouldn't admit to the fact she nearly fell asleep while walking, not one bit, and especially she wouldn't admit to actually falling asleep too. Still, she kept walking to where she thought the coffee shop was, before realizing it was down further. She was really, really regretting not sleeping before hand but she did need to get everything set as to make sure her home was presentable for work now. Working from home meant it being less of a toddler's-play-pen and more like a magazine ad, as much as she hated it.

When she stepped right in, the smell of caffeine straight went right to her, earning the pep in her step. Ok--skip. Very much a skipping motion that the toddler seemed to enjoy as she babbled out happily, hands clapping in turn of the near jogging to the counter. Sure, slamming your fist down in excitement was probably not the best manners but shit happens. "2 straight black coffees, biggest size. Please,"she tacks on the please in the end, nearly bouncing. She pauses then,"And uh, do you, uh, sell food?"she doesn't seem to be pausing for embarrassment, no rather that excitement was earning much slower brain power.
