Awakening of the Bloodline

Deathkitten

I am the Deathkitten! Fear me!
(( @Ananfal ))

Name: Mikael Donnovich

Actual Age: 200ish, he stopped keeping track, but could do the math on it if someone really wanted to know his age.

Apparent Age: 24

Gender: Male

History: Raised with the family, he does not think too well of mortals. With how messy and trite them and their issues are, they tend to just get on his nerves. That being said, it is worth mentioning how little he has actually seen of mortals, or interacted with them. His opinions mostly work off of hearsay alone. With the death of two of the Nobles of the family, Mikael was tasked with obtaining the young prince, awaken him, and bring him into his powers and the family. While his is not the most strictly loyal to the family, he does feel as though he owes them. Before they brought him in, he was an abandoned one, left to either live on his own or die, yet they brought him in out of whatever kindness their hearts had to offer. He was brought in at the young age of 52, and though he is now over 200 years of age, he is still considered a child among their ranks. As with all of their kind, he is attractive beyond normal means. In the mortal world, this has garnered him some... unwanted attention. He is unsure how to deal with this attention, and very much so wants to get all of this mess over and done with so he can go home.

Name: Kayre or Kai (It means demon.)

Age: 25ish, he doesn't know his exact age.

Gender: Male

History: Ever since he could remember, Kai had been alone. He lives in the streets, stealing and scraping to get by. As he grew up, his good looks did not go unnoticed, causing some... unwanted attention to be sent his way. However, he soon discovered a way to turn this 'curse' into something useful: he became a prostitute. He was taught how to pleasure women and men alike, and to satisfy every urge of his partner before he could release. Eventually he left the pleasure business, some unexplained urge telling him to.

This... This ridiculous place. Mikael looked at some of the women in the bar, whoring themselves off like they were objects. It made his stomach churn with disgust. He didn't understand it, wasn't it better to die than to stoop so lowly? What was worse was the men... the dogs... who accepted their offers, such despicable examples of men, far too unforgivable to even be considered men. In no way could he understand how people could let themselves go like this, the fat, the violence, the sexual injustice. He raised his hand to beckon the bar tender over again, ordering a simple beer. One thing he could definitely understand was the alcohol, how one could so easily succumb to it. With all the troubles in this world, intoxication came without question. Where he came from, alcohol was strong, and only used for festivities. The types here were not nearly strong enough, but then he wasn't using it for a festivity.

A young woman walked up to him, obviously with less than noble intentions. He politely smiled at her, but went back to his drink without a word. Her on the other hand... she was keen on talking, "Hello handsome man. Yer new around these parts, ain't ya?" Even though this wasn't that South, its clear this woman came from somewhere down there, her accent thick. With a pointed chuckle, he turned to look at the woman. Mikael looked her up and down, before settling on her eyes. "Little miss," he began, his voice thick with an untraceable accent, and deep but not gruff. It was smooth and alluring, "You really do have better things to do with as little time you have, than trying for men you don't even know. In this... place... that could get you raped or far worse. If you were going to offer, I am not interested in your services. If you were not, I am waiting for someone who is nearly here, so I do not have time to talk to you."

She looked startled, somewhat confused, and simply nodded, walking away and right out the bar. Mikael smirked and sighed, "Ah, I hope this does not take long... its like talking to children." He didn't know how some of his kind did it, staying here all the time... in secret no less. Even the lesser ones, he didn't know how they stayed sane. He could feel the eyes of practically everyone in the bar on his back, men and women alike. Though he had no qualms with men being with men, or women being with women, he had no clue how to handle it himself. Even though he wasn't going to respond to the onlookers, it made him curious of many things. He wondered how they picked mates, and how they went about that whole process. Mikael downed the last of his beer, and ordered an ale this time, sipping at it absentmindedly.

Kai was used to the stares so he turned a blind eye as several women actually stopped walking as they saw his face, his steps not faltering in their travel towards the open bar. It had been many years since Kai had been to a bar and the last time had been... unpleasant, to say the least. However he ignored the memories with the same ease that he ignored the stares As he entered the bar, the restless urge that had sent him here finally abating.

Even before he got to the bar a woman had stopped him, eager for some attention. However with a practiced smile and a flattering tongue, he sent her away with a large smile on her face, a new bounce in her step. Finally sliding into a seat at the counter, he ordered a simple non alcoholic drink, disliking the effect that alcohol had on his mind. Taking a sip of the drink given to him, Kai sighed and glanced around the bar, wondering what he was doing here.

By the time that the young prince walked into the bar, Mikael had three people around him, obscuring him from the young prince's view. Two girls and one guy, Mikael was having a harder time shoeing these three away, hard enough he almost didn't notice that Kai walked in until he actually sat at the counter a few seats away. "Excuse me, but I have someone I need to talk to. Please go back to your respective places, or whatever it is you're here for. Thank you," he said, annoyance showing clear in his voice. The three looked disappointed and sauntered away, heads down in defeat. Mikael closed his eyes and sighed, before looking to Kai, "Please tell me you aren't going to be like those crazies? I've only been here a few hours, and have gotten more offers than I think I have in two years back home."

He smiled, face crinkling in a young but knowing way, "No alcohol? I would probably go the same route you are, but the stuff here is far weaker than I am used to... plus, this day has been a bit rough." Mikael noted how pretty the young prince was, how handsome. It didn't have the same effect on him as it did all these mortals, but he could still appreciate. He met Kai's eyes, his own red ones seeming as though he was looking into him, curiously but deeply gazing, "So, are you from around here? I've made it pretty clear I am not... As though my accent doesn't show it enough."

Kai almost sensed the man's appraoch before he spoke, something he had never done before. Turning to face the newcomer with another fake smile, Kai gasped slightly as he viewed the man's beauty. It was so similar to his own features, the first person he had ever seen with appeal close to his own. That would explain the offers. Relaxing slightly, Kai motioned to the seat beside him in wordless invitation. "This is a bar and it's almost night time, of course you're going to get offers." He grinned at the other man.

"As for the drink - alcohol isn't my style. I don't like the effect it has on me." He said truthfully, running a finger around the rim of his glass, every movement unconsciously seductive in part because of his training and in part simply because of his natural charm. "No, I don't think I'm from around here. I don't know where I'm from, you see."

Mikael chuckled deeply at the young prince's reaction, and sat nearer to him, "Careful now, we might make them all lose their heads. They seem drawn to you as well. Just think of what they might be imagining, the two of us sitting together." He smirked, looking over Kai, "I can only imagine how many you've gotten. I'm not accustomed to bars. They aren't looked upon the best at home." He smiled at the young prince when he was being so accidentally seductive, "You don't, hm? That's interesting I suppose. Its not often that one doesn't know where they're from. It makes you all the more alluring." Since he was thinking of alluring, and Kai was being so... inadvertently sexy, he decided to have a little bit of invisible fun. Mikael sort of turned up and pushed out his aura so it would effect the young prince heavily, "You know... its such a shame. So many people here find me attractive... but I don't like any of them... They're far too normal for my tastes. Do you know anyone who might... fit better?"

He looked Kai in the eyes as he spoke, lips left a tiny bit parted when he stopped, before he sucked his lower lip into his mouth gently and bit at it. This was too much fun, and actually turning him on a little. He stopped suddenly, pulling his aura back and turning it down, "Mm... Another drink please, bartender? I'd like just a water this time." The bartender nodded quickly, his open mouth closing quickly as he snapped back to reality. {Maybe I overdid it a little?} Mikael thought, giggling to himself silently. He looked at Kai once more, "You okay?"

Despite himself, Kai couldn't help from flushing slightly at the other man's words. Alluring? That wasn't the word Kai would... All of a sudden his head felt hazy, thoughts filled with desire for the man sitting beside him sucking his lip ever so slowly. He wanted to take him, right then and there, uncaring of those who watched...

The haze cleared suddenly and Kai gripped onto the bar counter tightly, panting as though he had just run a race, his breath shaking on the way out. What... What was that? He had never wr felt that before. He got up suddenly on unsteady legs, refusing to look at the man beside him. "Don't... Don't!" Kai said, his voice only a hoarse whisper as he turned and strode for the door quickly. Unnoticed by him, Kai's aura was fluctuating wildly with his emotions, causing the humans to jump out of his way and allow him clear access to the door.

Mikael hopped up when Kai did, cursing at himself in his head. He just had to play around. Everything was going so well, and he just had to play around. He ran ahead of him once he got out the door, "Kai, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. You were doing little playful things, and so I wanted to do so back, and I guess I overdid it. I didn't mean to scare you." He cursed at himself again, realizing he had said the man's name without him actually having introduced himself. "Well... Damn it..." he muttered, still keeping up with Kai if he continued on. "I'm not going to enjoy this..." he groaned, and stopped for a moment, focusing, "We're going to need to have a talk."

Closing his eyes, by the time he opened them, he had teleported both himself and Kai into a room with no windows or door out. There was still a closet door and a bathroom door. Mikael dropped to a knee, a new sheen of sweat on his skin, "That's... That's a lot harder with two people... and when here... This world sucks." He was panting slightly from obvious exhaustion, but looked up at Kai to see what he was doing, gauge how much he was freaking out.

Despite his reaction to the other man's use of sexual attraction, Kai seemed almost unfazed by the teleportation and the room with no way out. However, that facade would be broken if you observed the energy that plagued his steps as he paced in front of the kneeling man. Perhaps if you could sense his aura you would see the boiling anger that suffused him now, building and mounting with seemingly no peak in sight.

"I await an explanation." The words were cold and hard, dropped like stones into a still pond, breaking the silence. "You will deliver it to me, now." It was an order, not a request.

Mikael chuckled loudly yet dryly, "I don't think it would be best to tell you when you are as angry as you are." He sighed, leaning back against the wall, "My name is Mikael, and I am a friend and somewhat a servant of your family. They took me in when I was much younger, and have taken care of me since. I repay them by doing tasks for them, as any good son, adopted or not, would. So, in that way, I am a servant. The entire reason why I am talking to you, and I regret to inform you of this, is because your Mother and Father have died. I don't much know the details on how, nor do I know why you are here instead of home." He looked up at him, meeting his eyes without wavering, "If you want more information than that, you'll have to calm down. Anger in place of fear can sometimes be a good thing, and that makes me think you've had a harder life than you should have... but with me, it gets you nowhere. Back home? It will be funny, but here, with me, you don't get to boss me around. So... Young Prince, will you calm yourself so I can tell you about your family and your inheritance?"

Kai simply listened, a silent pillar of energy. And only until after Mikael finished speaking did Kai move. However all he did was laugh bitterly. "So you were in my place, is that it? Switched at birth. I'm a fake orphan and you're a fake son. Brilliant. So I guess, you've come to get me, the long lost son, to what? Return me to my rightful position? Well that wouldn't make a very good book now would it." Kai laughed again, hand clenching so tight that his nails cut into his skin, releasing blood.

"And the teleportation? I know that wasn't a trick - but how does that fit in to the story? What, we're vampires now too? And I'm a Prince apparently - what a joke. But you know what, I'll play along." Kai grinned sardonically. "Go on, tell me the rest. Tell me the rest of I'll make you." Now his grin had a feral violence to it, a hint of barely leashed anger.

"Switched at birth? Hardly. I don't know why you weren't in your place from the beginning. My story is far different from yours with them. I owe them, so I am doing this... Plus I actually care. I call you young prince because you are actually much younger than I am. I am over 200 years of age. Still, even at this point, a child to them. They rescued me when I was about 50 or so," he looked at Kai without any fear or anger, just sadness and frustration. "I've come to return you home... There are a lot of things for you to learn. You have to be awakened... And no, you aren't one of those creatures. You aren't even human. I don't see how you even deal living with them... I was told by one of my elders to say jokingly 'You're a wizard, Harry.' But that hardly makes sense. You aren't a wizard, and your name isn't Harry. More apt would be, you're a god, Kai." He frowned, brow furrowed as he stood up, "You're a god, but you aren't awoken... You can do so much more with yourself than just attract people. Your family was part of a noble group. High standing in our society. You're essentially the prince of your name. They had you written into their will. You were their only child they ended up being able to have. They were murdered, according to what we were told... They probably had you stay here so you would be safe or something like that. Now, they're gone, and you get to come home. Awakening won't happen until you're calm though." Mikael gripped Kai's shoulders with a small smile, "This is a good thing... Not that they are gone, but that you get to partake in what you've been missing so far in your short life."

"You want me calm?" Kai slowly let the bitterness seep into his soul, all the anger and frustration he had he turned against himself. Then he built a wall around his emotions, let nothing through, and looked at Mikael with a face seemingly carved of stone. "I can be calm." There was no trace of emotion, either from his aura or his face or voice. Nothing. It was all hidden, deep within his heart, still raging there, but all was quiet on the surface.

"Home... You say I'm going home. But that place is not my home - at least not yet. Tell me about 'home'." Kai's eyes were on the ground, his body deathly still. Only the small regular breaths identified him as living. "Tell me about what I've been missing. Tell me about my parents. Tell me everything."

Mikael's eyes were sad, as he was obviously not calm, though hiding it well. No one actually got calm that fast, nor was that still, "I'm sorry you have to be told in this method... Its not the best way." He sighed, looking over the boy, "Fine... Its absolutely beautiful there, for one. All the people, especially those in the families, are very strong. Far stronger commonly than some simple teleportation." He smiled a small bit as he was talking, "Nearly everyone is very attractive. You wouldn't get the annoying looks and distractions. Though not outwardly affectionate, that doesn't mean that they don't have sex. Really, sex isn't vilified there, but there's also no prostitution..." Mikael sighed, unsure, "I don't really know what to say, or what to describe about your parents. Heck, I am still hoping there's a chance they're really alive still. They're wonderful people, a bit stern, but they know how to lead people. For both of them, their beauty matched their power. They got so much attention. They also wouldn't shut up about what I now get is you. They seemed actually sad about you being here, really really sad. Anyways... They were stern, yet kind. They were balanced with their love with people. No racism at all. They had enough love to take me in, after all, and that's unheard of." He pouted slightly, "Ask some questions, please. I don't really know where to direct my little rant about home."

Kai spread his hands out in a helpless gesture. He had no idea what questions to ask about home. He had never had one before, after all. Shaking his head, he decided to change the subject to something else. "You mentioned powers stronger than teleportation." Kai said somewhat hesitantly. "Do you mind telling me about that? Are those the powers I will inherit when I am... awakened?" He hesitated over the strange word but managed to say it. There was still a part of him that didn't think this was real...

To be completely honest, however, Kai had always known he was different from other people. It may not have been clear exactly how, until Mikael came, but there was always... something. That's why he had gathered so much unwanted attention as a child. That's why he had been forced into prostitution, just to survive. He had done things no child should ever have done, and it was all because of his bloodline... Kai wanted to hate it, but he couldn't... He couldn't hate the only parents he could ever claim...
