[div class=tag]date of birth[/div] december 25th.

[div class=tag]height
5 feet, 5 inches tall.

[div class=tag]weight[/div] 50 kg.

[div class=tag]hair[/div] olivia has chestnut brown hair that is wavy and usually kept at a medium length. it doesn't often go much past her shoulders.

[div class=tag]eyes[/div] olivia has big, brown, doe eyes.

[div class=tag]build[/div] olivia has a svelte form. slight curves and a narrow frame, much like ever other female in her family. while suffering from depression, she lost quite a bit of weight. she's healthier now, but could still stand to gain a little more weight.

[div class=tag]attire[/div] nothing too fancy. olivia believes that comfort always comes first. she usually wears jeans or cutoffs with t-shirts or shirts tucked in. sneakers are always worn, due to convenience. they're old and worn out but she loves them.

[div class=tag]modifications[/div] her ears have two piercings each, and she usually wears simple studs in its place.

[div class=tag]positive traits
olivia is [div class=tag2]compassionate[/div] and [div class=tag2]kind[/div]. she has a tendency to always put others before herself and she always feels the need to help or take care of people in tough situations. it hurts her to see people sad or upset or in pain. moreover, olivia is always filled with a [div class=tag2]fun[/div] energy. she likes to turn every bad situation into a better one, and happens to light up a room just by walking into it. it's hard for people to stay upset around her because she just has this [div class=tag2]charismatic[/div] way about her that makes her hard to resist, whether it be pouring out your feelings or simply wanting to spend time around her.

[div class=tag]negative traits[/div] olivia, as selfless as she is, often can be dangerously so. she's very [div class=tag2]emotional[/div], and therefore makes most of her decisions based on emotion rather than logic. this may hinder her ability to make the right decision at times, or the more moral decision. olivia can also be a little [div class=tag2]naive[/div]. she likes to believe that there's good in everyone, and that it can be brought out with enough effort, but she was mistaken once and she'll likely be mistaken again. she's also a little [div class=tag2]impulsive[/div]. her naivety means that she'll just assume things will be okay and she'll go ahead with whatever she had in mind. it also makes her a little [div class=tag2]stubborn[/div].

[div class=tag]likes[/div] children, painting, playing the guitar, singing, gallons of tea, that one time a week she forces her brother to have dinner with her, the smell of the ocean, sunshine, freshly baked cookies.

[div class=tag]dislikes[/div] death + losing people close to her in any way, shape or form, coffee or coke or red bull (impossible to go to sleep after that), the month of august, sudden loud sounds, thunderstorms.

[div class=tag]fears[/div] as much as she knows that death is a part of life, olivia is terrified of losing people. she already feels like she's lost a part of her, and she doesn't think she'll be able to handle it if she loses another. olivia also hates thunderstorms since the sound of thunder, especially when it comes out of nowhere, reminds her far too much of the sound of a gunshot.

[div class=tag]mental ailments[/div] seasonal depression โ€” it comes and goes, usually around january since that's when her life got turned upside down two years ago.

[div class=tag]love language[/div] physical touch + quality time.

[div class=tag]moral alignment[/div] neutral good. [/div][/div] [div class="content4"]
[div class=tag]early years
olivia was born into a middle class family. life growing up was pretty normal. she became a big sister at the age of five and absolutely doted on her brother, even if they bickered a lot after growing up to a certain age. one thing that couldn't be denied was olivia's love for caring for other people. she liked to brighten everyone's day even as a child, and was able to do so without giving it much thought. she filled the household with life, and protected her brother at all costs, so her parents never had a very hard time taking care of both kids while juggling their working lives as well. olivia was always there to help out.

[div class=tag]teenage years[/div] there was a slight shift in the dynamic between brother and sister when olivia reached her teenage years, but at the end of the day, she was around to stick up for him when needed, whether it was against bullies or their own parents. in school olivia was fairly popular, due to her tendency to be very friendly and animated. she wasn't a superb student, but she was a little above average, at the very least. she graduated from high school without many hitches in the road and immediately knew what she wanted to do with her life โ€” care for others. specifically, children. she always loved spending time with them and caring from them, and she knew she'd do a good job with it. so, she went on to get a diploma in children's services.

[div class=tag]early adulthood[/div] halfway through getting her diploma, olivia got a job as an assistant educator. she absolutely loved the work she was doing, and she enjoyed spending time with children and taking part in various activities with them. she was about nineteen or so when she started the work, and at twenty, she finished her diploma and shifted into an qualified childcare educator instead of an assistant. it was during her job that she met the man who later went on to become her husband. edward came from a rather rich family and only really stopped by the daycare to pick up his nephew one day. edward came to the daycare several times after that, though never to pick up his nephew anymore, and instead to meet olivia, maybe have some lunch together. it all happened quite fast, and before they knew it, they were moving in together.

olivia was quite content with the way life was going for her. she had a job that she loved, she was living with someone who made her happy, even if he was more business-minded than creative, and everything was going great. they lived happily for two blissful years and then one small hitch came along โ€” when olivia was twenty - two, she found out she was pregnant. of course, she saw this as nothing but good news. she didn't plan on having a baby so soon of course, but she absolutely loved children, so she was more than thrilled. edward, however, was less inclined. he had a five year plan in place, and he cared about the details. the plan didn't account for a baby until much later and not to mention, he had traditional parents. after getting over the initial shock, olivia had managed to convince edward that this was good, but for the sake of his parents, they had a quickie wedding in a nearby chapel and started to plan out their lives in a different direction, to accommodate the new boy or girl who'd be joining them in nine months.

olivia had just turned twenty - three, and was two months away from her due date when she was caught up in a robbery at a local convenience store. every instinct of hers told her to stay down, for the sake of her own baby, till she saw a gun being aimed at a careless thirteen-year-old boy who thought he could try and play the hero. olivia acted impulsively since she was closest and wanted to try and negotiate. unfortunately for her, her actions instead came as a surprise. she caught the guy off guard and the gun was then aimed in her direction โ€” and promptly fired.

the man fled the scene after that, and the bullet had lodged itself into olivia's shoulder. she doesn't remember much of what happened since it all came and went in flashes. when she woke, she was in the hospital room. there was a line running, feeding her with essential nutrients. her first thought went to her unborn child โ€” where was the baby? her hands had grasped at her stomach to feel the swelling having gone down, and while edward was there to comfort her, nothing calmed her down from frantically trying to find out what happened to the baby till a nurse came in and informed her that the baby passed. while they were able to get him out โ€” it was a boy โ€” he was premature and unfortunately died in the nicu.

things went downhill after that. olivia suffered from depression for a while, and nothing edward or her family did made it any better. eventually, she decided it was too much for her to see edward every day and not think about the baby she lost, so she filed for divorce. it was swift and clean because edward didn't want to make things any harder on her, even if this was the last thing he wanted. he continued to offer spousal support though, at his own insistence. it would hardly cause a dent in his paycheque.

[div class=tag]present[/div] olivia took some time to recover. her brother eventually left the country to pursue his higher studies in melbourne, and after he left, she only felt more alone. she slowly got back into work after a few months, and that made her a little happy, even if it did serve as a terrible reminder at first, but continuing to do the thing she loved slowly helped her heal. two years passed and she was doing better, except for the low periods around january, since it was the anniversary for the whole incident. with her parents reaching retirement, olivia decided a change of scenery would do her good.

since her brother was already in melbourne, she decided to apply there for a job. it didn't take her very long for her to get one, and after a few more final arrangements, olivia set off toward a new adventure. she got an apartment from the money she saved up from spousal support, and edward continued to offer assistance, despite not being 100% on board with her leaving. part of him believes that the change in scenery may be good for the both of them, and that when she comes back, they might be able to rekindle what they lost, but olivia hasn't made any promises, even if she has acknowledged his help and expressed her gratitude several times. [div class=tag2]father |
olivia's father certainly has his moments. he's filled with quips and one liners that never fail to entertain the family. while there are times where he may seem like he's lost his human side, he's always been there for his family, and he's always ensured that everyone in the family has been protected and clothed and fed, and of course, loved.

[div class=tag2]mother |
olivia and her mother are quite close. she was there for her when she went through troubling times, and she's always been supportive. olivia likes to think she gets her bubbly nature and optimism from her mother. she is, hands down, one of the nicest, kindest people she's ever had the privilege of knowing.

ezra hamilton.
[div class=tag2]younger brother |
for the longest time, ezra's been like her partner in crime. even now, she has to threaten emotional blackmail to get him to take one night off to come have dinner with her, just so she can see him, and even if he acts like it bores him and he'd rather be doing something else, he likes those weekly dinners as well. they've always been each other's support systems. that's unlikely to change any time soon.

edward grant.
[div class=tag2]ex husband |
olivia cares for edward deeply, there's no doubt about that. she once thought he was her soulmate, and perhaps that is true, but not in a romantic way. not anymore. she's giving him his time to process things as well, but olivia knows that they can never be what they once were. it's too painful a reminder of everything she's been through.

He is the only child to Kim Se-Ra and Kim Jun-so, who are well-known farmers on Jeju Island. He spent his whole childhood living on his familyโ€™s farm which primarily focused on chickens, sheep and crops. When he was nineteen, he moved to Seoul to experience the โ€˜real city lifeโ€™ and attend Seoul National University College of Medicine in dreams of becoming a doctor. During his first year of study, he met Kim So-Jin who was in a majority of his classes. He had seen her in class and spent a lot of time being distracted and just staring at her. They finally officially met during a group study as they prepared for their first assignments.

Eventually, the pair of them became good friends and then, over time, he confessed his feelings for her one night as they walked by the Han River together. She confessed that she also had feelings and from that moment on, they began their relationship. At the age of twenty-one, Jun felt like everything was falling into place. He had the perfect girl, was studying with goals of becoming a doctor, and he couldnโ€™t see how things could go wrong. And he was right โ€“ the pair of them seemed to be living this perfect dream.

They graduated together at the age of twenty-four and on their graduation day, having been dating for three years, Jun proposed to the girl of his dreams. Of course, she said yes. And they were quick to marry within the next couple of months as they wanted to start trying for a big family together. Jun was an only child, but So-Jin was one of eight. Both craved to have a big family filled with love and joy. After two years of trying for a child, they decided to turn to IVF. After six attempts, they were still unable to conceive. So-Jin was a mess, knowing that it was all on her part that they were unable to have children. It didnโ€™t help that Jun had to participate in his mandatory year and a half military training during this time also.

After close to three years of trying for a baby, Jun was offered a scholarship position in a hospital in Australia. The scholarship included a house which they could live rent and bill free. So, Jun convinced his wife to move to Melbourne, Australia where he could work full time to support them and she could relax at home as a stay at home wife. Within a couple of months of moving, So-Jin and Jun were happy to announce to their family that they were expecting a little bundle of joy โ€“ it was a miracle. The pair of them couldnโ€™t have been happier. So-Jin had no complications with her pregnancy and Jun felt like he was on cloud nine as they were expecting their first baby.

On the day of the delivery, everything was going as planned. On the 1st of February, Yeon So-Min was brought into this world. As soon as he heard her little scream, Jun was overjoyed and full of emotions. He had his girls, his job and they were living in the beautiful country of Australia. However, before So-Jin could hold her baby daughter, the doctors became alert. So-Jinโ€™s heart rate was increasing, and her blood pressure dropped almost instantly. Knowing all the doctor lingo, Jun knew exactly what was going on and became very emotional. His wife was having postpartum haemorrhage and was losing blood quickly. He had to be escorted (well, more dragged) out of the room while the doctors got into action to save her life.

The hour-long wait killed him.

One hour ago, he thought he had his whole life together. And in a second, his baby was brought away to ensure she was healthy, and his wife began to bleed out. So-Min was the first to return to him. The nurses brought her into the room, all bundled up and ready for a snuggle with her father. As he held her in his arms, all he could think about was how beautiful she was โ€“ how she looked just like her Umma. Just as that thought flew through his mind, the doctor who had been delivering So-Min entered the room. Whatever he had to say, Jun didnโ€™t want to hear it. But he had to say it; his wife had passed away.

There was no time for tears. Only shock. The love of his life was gone. He shouldโ€™ve been screaming and crying in grief on the floor. But all he could think about was how he needed to stay strong for their daughter. How he needed to focus on her rather than letting emotions get to him. For the first few months after So-Jinโ€™s death, Jun took time off to be a stay at home dad. He spoke to the hospital and they said they were able to pause his scholarship for six months whilst allowing him to stay at the house for free. He travelled back to Korea with the ashes of his wife for a proper sending off and for the family to meet So-Min. And then finally, he was back home. The first two months after his wifeโ€™s passing had flown by and he found that he didnโ€™t have any time to grieve. For the remaining four months, he spent every second of his day with his daughter.

Just before So-Min turned six months, the hospital contacted him and informed him that he had a choice; he could return back for his scholarship, or he would have to give up the position. Giving up the position would mean having to leave Australia as his Visa would be cancelled. And whilst he wasnโ€™t financially prepared to move back to Korea, he decided to persist with his scholarship. This meant having to return to work full time and placing So-Min into childcare five days a week. The first real-time he would ever be away from his baby girl. [div class=h1]Strengths
Combining a vivid imagination with a strong sense of compassion, Jun uses his creativity to resolve not technical challenges, but human ones too. He enjoys finding the perfect solution for someone that he cares about, and because of this skill, it makes him an excellent counsellor and advisor. He is able to see through dishonesty and disingenuous motives due to his insightfulness, and can easily step past manipulation and sales tactics and into a more honest discussion. He can see how people and events are connected, and is capable of using his insight to get to the heart of the matter.

Speaking in human terms, not technical, Jun can come across as inspiring and convincing as he speaks with warmth and passion which makes him a great orator. If heโ€™s particularly proud of what heโ€™s speaking of, his writing style comes across as fluid and inspiration. With a combination of his creativity, insight and inspiration, Jun is decisive. He is also to follow through on his ideas with conviction, willpower, and the planning necessary to see complex projects through to the end.

When Jun believes that something is important, he pursues the goal with a conviction and energy that can often catch others off-guard. Determination and passion radiates off of him which is something not everyone likes to see. However, at the same time, Jun can be altruistic, and will not engage in any actions of promote beliefs just to benefit himself. He has a strong belief system and his actions are determined by trying to advance an idea that he truly believes will make the world a better place.

[div class=h1]Weaknesses[/div] Jun is very sensitive and is highly vulnerable to criticism and conflict. If you ever want to get onto his bad side, just simply question his motives and youโ€™ll most likely get an alarming strong response. This can make also make him stubborn as he refuses to acknowledgement of criticism or the need to change. His sensitivity is often due to how extremely private he is. He tends to present himself as the culmination of an idea partly because he believes in this idea, and so he can hide his personal life. He uses this image to keep himself from having to truly open up, even to very close friends. Therefore, trusting a new friend is something that is very challenging to Jun.

Heโ€™s a perfectionist as he is defined by his pursuit of ideals. He will often drop or ignore healthy and productive situations and relationships, always believing that there might be a better option down the road. However, due to his passion, idealism, impatience and extreme privacy, Jun can quite easily โ€“ and often โ€“ burns out. He tends to exhaust himself in short order if he doesnโ€™t find a way to balance out his ideals with realities of day-to-day living.

[div class=h1]Friendships[/div] Jun is unlikely to go for friendships of circumstance. He avoids situations like workplace social circles or chatting up his local baristas, where the only thing they really have in common is regular contact. He seeks out others who share his passions, interests and beliefs. Jun is always on the lookout for someone with whom he can grow and improve due to his perfectionistic traits.

[div class=h1]Romance[/div] He takes the process of finding a partner seriously. Not ones for casual encounters, but will look for depth and meaning in his relationships. He will take the time necessary to find someone with whom he can truly connect with and once heโ€™s found that someone, their relationship will reach a level of depth and sincerity of which most people can only dream of.

[div class=h1]Fear[/div] His biggest fear - now - would be losing So-Min. After his wife's death, he beats himself up regularly for not being able to do anything about it. He fears the loss of loved ones and with So-Jin's passing, it was like his biggest fear coming true. So now, he puts all his focus and energy on ensuring that his daughter is safe.

[div class=h1]Mental ailments[/div] Being unable to properly grieve his wife and jumping straight into single-parenthood has been very stressful for Jun. He pushes aside his emotions, not taking the time to sort them out, so he can focus on his daughter.

Kim So-Jin
[div class="scroll"]Kim So-Jin was - and well, still is - the absolute love of his life.

She was smart, courageous and full of spirit. She weighed Jun out like ying and yang. Whenever he was grumpy, she was the one to put a smile on his face. Whenever he was trying to ensure that everything was perfect, she was the one to calm his nerves and show him that there was perfection even in the imperfections in life. Since her death, heโ€™s unsure if heโ€™ll ever find someone like her and has just come to terms that heโ€™ll remain lonely for the rest of his life.

Yeon So-Min
[div class="scroll"]So-Min is the only thing in life that gets him up and out of bed in the morning. She harbours so much of her Ummaโ€™s spirit and energy in her that Jun swears that she is the reincarnation of So-Jin sometimes. Jun is very protective of her and the girl has spent every waking moment with her Appa.

This cheeky girl is six months old and is starting to hit those milestones; she can sit without any support and is starting to learn how to crawl. She loves to look at herself in the mirror and responds to her name. Sheโ€™s starting on solid food, along with baby food, and is beginning to strong vowel sounds together and make certain noises for happy or sad emotions. Finally, Jun has been teaching her sign language which she seems to be excelling at (mainly for โ€˜foodโ€™, โ€˜bottleโ€™, โ€˜dadโ€™, โ€˜sleepโ€™ and โ€˜playโ€™), along with speaking both Korean and English to his daughter.
