I have stated in the opening post that it this won't be a full blown D&D campaign. It's gonna have some elements of D&D (rolling dice, stats, skill checks etc), but not everything. So you are welcome to mention any deities that concern your character, it really isn't important.

Don't worry, this will be a homebrewed story, so it's not gonna have any complicated D&D mechanics, you shouldn't have any difficulties.

Really you can choose anything, from complicated thief, bard, cleric, templar, warlock, etc... to simple: mage, warrior, rogue. It's just to provide a base from which we can go on to have your character have proper skills and weapons.
