i'm going to go with the worst player i've seen. i can post this here in full confidence seeing as how no one from my d&d groups would set foot on a writing site, haha.
so, as mentioned above, i play d&d with my friends. well, for one of the campaigns, our dm brought in someone new. okay, cool...
"hey hi i don't like their personality so could you like... change it?"
one of the more annoying things to come across in a role play or a dnd campaign.
disclaimer: i'm not claiming to be the best writer, because i'm not. i'm average at best, so please don't think this is the end all be all of writing "tutorials". this is merely a guide from an average users perspective, take it with as many grains of salt as you'd like.

i mostly agree. i like discord for talking to my gaming friends, however, i can understand wanting to use it as an OOC chat instead for a role play. it's a lot friendlier than this site is (honestly, pms can get messy quickly if you have more than one person in a message) and the thread system...
i can't speak on backstories too well, however, i know a bit about personalities.

this is a very good first step for a personality. i would either take the test with the mindset of your character or just look at which letter stands for what and then going from there. write a short...
thank you! i was going to post this when i saw yours.
if i may, i'm going to add to this.
on my old site, there was one person who ONLY rp'd as an abused kid. they wanted the other person to rp as the abuser of a seven year old kid. it was absolutely disgusting because the site would be...
this isn't aimed at you in particular, but this did remind me of a point i wanted to bring up: I primarily work in light mode because it isn't jarring for me when i switch tabs.
that's why i use lighter fonts with white backgrounds, or transparent ones. i wouldn't want an rp partner to not...
i just want to like this twice tbh this is a good point.
anywho, some more of mine:
× when the ooc chat makes no sense and you have to read through eighty pages to find relevant information. personal conversations are all well and good, but only in a pm.
× on the same topic, when there's...
keyword: preference. just because it's not yours doesn't mean it isn't someone else's.
that's the brilliant thing about this site: there are a lot of people who have the same preference as yours so you don't have to force yourself to rp with someone who has a different one
1. Do you have one main OC that you will always use in a role play?
× unless it's a wold rp, then no. if it is, then yes: ilthi and fen'haral. they were the first two i made and the first two i got attached to. other than that, no, i like to change things up.
2. What is the longest role play...
× when people complain about aesthetic later on rather than telling you upfront that they'd prefer plain posts.
× people who complain about someone else's writing style and preference.
× "i only play females but i can double up but only focus on writing my female character as opposed to the...
what geeking out said is true. this site has a massive amount of members, so one would expect that you'd get replies quickly. it's true in a sense, however, your post can be drowned in a sea of others if you post when it's busy.
honestly, there are a lot of people on here who would most likely...
your first step would be to flesh your idea out more. are there other people in this world? was there a mass extinction and only these nine people remain? or are they rulers of different countries/clans and must fight one another for supreme domination?
that reminds me of a time when i was on another site with a dragon age role play and this person completely ruined fenris. like. they made him soft and cuddly. i can't stand it and it makes me a lil' upset to know that this is somewhat common.
third person is best person xd
all joke's aside, for me, personally, third person feels a lot more natural to write. when using first person for a different character it feels... wrong, idk.
that made me laugh so much omg thank you.
they try to make it romantic by: oh my goodness i can hear your every move omg senpai love me :3
and, my favourite
omg u saved me from a big bad criminal i love u <3
but yee, as @Ferociousfeind mentioned, it fvckin' sucks living in a ghetto. like...
when people romantacise living in a shitty neighbourhood or having thin ass walls that you can talk to your potential love interest through.
nah bih it ain't cute it's annoying and i just want to sleep, not hear my neighbours yelling at one another.
i also hate hearing sirens in my...
