Maybe it’s just me but among the fandom RP ads there seems to be an over-representation of anime, video games, and Harry Potter. And among those a LOT of school settings. Anything else doesn’t seem to grab much interest.
So I was wondering if any of you knew of a site like this one except it...
So I normally love to create characters that exist in a given setting. Thing is, in those instances I usually have some hard rule set to stick to like rough character classes or archetypes to fit into a given setting. Like Star Wars has Jedi, Bounty Hunters, etc. Or 40K has the various factions...
So I have a general concept for two characters but one of them needs a little more fleshing out than the other. Specifically, where he comes from. Now the general idea is that he's an Awakened who ends up becoming a mage. (Leaning towards the Shamanistic line of things but wait a moment for...
@Bone2pick I see. Well knowing me, I actually would prefer the straight life, so I think I may have to concoct a scenario where my guy makes a mistake, trusts the wrong person, or does something that screws his life up so much it effectively forces him into the shadows to make ends meat.
@Bone2pick What about their origins? Like if I'm creating a Runner's backstory, what questions do I have to ask and answer about where they came from and what made them who they are?
That's actually exactly what I was looking for. It's actually quite amazing that Fantasy Flight has been able to blend class mechanics in with narrative so smoothly. Nothing like this exists in D&D in my experience. I'm a Paladin from the start, no knighting sacrament or test of will. Just *bam*...
Yeah that actually makes a lot of sense. Just that the F&D careers offer a lot of cool background fluff and "stories." Meanwhile the Force Emergent doesn't quite have as much direction offered in terms of narrative.
Let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks for the advice.
For those of you who have played any of the Fantasy Flight Tabletop Star Wars games, I have a question. I would really like to play a Force-sensitive character and I have an idea for a motivation and general background. Problem is, I'm not sure which career and specialization would make sense...
Thank you. That actually works a little bit better. Even if revenge doesn't end up being the goal, although that would make a good Paragon/Renegade moment for Shepard, having her former teammates or even just one be her principal villains fit very well.
Too edgy. I didn't even want edgy. What I was after was, for lack of a better term, human drama. Thane as a father absent from his son's life, Grunt coming of age within his culture, Kasumi trying to take back the only thing left of a partner and lover. These are motivations and backstories that...
So I have this character for an RP. It's suppose to be an additional crew member for the Mass Effect 2 mission.
Here's the basic gist, she's an asari named Dorothea T'varis. She was born on Omega shortly after Aria moved in. She was raised by her parents, one of them being a Turian veteran, and...
He's WHAT?! That's great news! Could he be the first of the lost Primarchs to return? Maybe bring some genuine heroism back to humanity via his chapter? One can hope.
Well I was asking for examples but if you want to do a 40K RP with a little more idealism running through it, please PM me...
Well I was simply asking for a story or experience, but if you have the time for it, I would adore some actually realized content from my little pipe dream. Even if it's just shared by one other person.
