@Bone2pick I see. Well knowing me, I actually would prefer the straight life, so I think I may have to concoct a scenario where my guy makes a mistake, trusts the wrong person, or does something that screws his life up so much it effectively forces him into the shadows to make ends meat.

That's actually exactly what I was looking for. It's actually quite amazing that Fantasy Flight has been able to blend class mechanics in with narrative so smoothly. Nothing like this exists in D&D in my experience. I'm a Paladin from the start, no knighting sacrament or test of will. Just *bam*...

Yeah that actually makes a lot of sense. Just that the F&D careers offer a lot of cool background fluff and "stories." Meanwhile the Force Emergent doesn't quite have as much direction offered in terms of narrative. Let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks for the advice.

Thank you. That actually works a little bit better. Even if revenge doesn't end up being the goal, although that would make a good Paragon/Renegade moment for Shepard, having her former teammates or even just one be her principal villains fit very well.
