@Jannah nope. I make new characters from time to time, but I prefer one I clicked with before. I generally try to make them consistent and only have a few elements differ between their different settings.
My main issues making original characters are generally making them in such a way that they are interesting to use and to be played with in any setting. Doing so is a lot easier said than done because for me staying consistent with the characters is fairly difficult.

Started RP on the game forums of Bungie.net, which had enough organization to develop RP groups. I joined when I was younger so I was (and still am) the butt of all the jokes and harassment. So I started looking around for new places to go and I'm here now.
I don't often write with a lot of line breaks, usually my lines are anywhere between 2-4 sentances before I break the line. In a roleplay, it's a bit......subjective. How well YOU can personally get something across is completely different from person to person and can mean anything from OP's...
Y'know, I've only ever had one partner who did draw one of my chars, and it gave me a whole new perspective. If you can write a character well enough that others can accurately draw them, then you're doing pretty well. It's pretty satisfying to receive art (though I can't draw so I have yet to...
my characters that I have written generally fluctuate from 14-70, biologically. I have a few exceptions in that their stories involve some form of suspended animation or longevity because of their species or technology that has chronologically expanded this lifespan, but I always go by...
Usually characters from say Halo (Sergeant Johnson or Cortana/Dr. Halsey) or even Undertale (Asriel Dreemurr).
Not usually too terribly many because I don't have too much knowledge on a lot of things.
Thread mods that force their preferences on you and act snarky (i.e. 'It's not like it's my thread...oh wait, it is.').
Favoritism (i.e. not being allowed to have X, but this person has X in addtion to Y and Z)
Mine was more related to how a certain admin decided they hated my RPing, and it was in a multi-fandom RP where I posted blank-slate chars that I could more easily play due to their lack of defined personalities, and the admin had denied people from a multi-fandom for playing chars that were...
Oh, and while I'm at it, admin favoritism.
If it's blatantly obvious an admin is forcing THEIR preferences on what I post (irregardless of the suitability, sometimes they are perfectly fine chars that are relegated to NPC status or otherwise denied) and is letting others post characters of much...
depends, honestly. Some of them are more of a hassle to deal with/or are favored by local admins.
If they can be managed on a small scale, usually applying realism and/or calling them out works decently
Otherwise, I just drop out.
