I tend to not make my characters suffer for the sake of suffering, but given the settings they are in vs here, I like to assume they would like somehow ending up here.
OOC is normally just random chatter, or some plotting, or just random drivel. It naturally progresses faster and further than IC. It's honestly a bad sign if your ooc is slower or at the same pace as your IC. Though I would say it matters to what degree your ooc activity is towards the IC, say...
Well, I can say I agree with and disagree with some of the above points, but given all that has been typed up above, I won't address all the points, so much as typing my own observations and experiences. Having done this for two decades and a couple years added, and I'll say mixes of what is...
I likely would not even be aware of it, unless something happened that was being talked about widely in the Discord OOC (my own preference) or in a slower moving forum OOC where this wasn't buried under 10 pages of shit posts, I may take a look at it.
Typically, I am in anywhere from 3-5 games...
It really depends on factors.
One, am I the GM or a co-gm? Yes, I read every single posts because I must.
Two, does the group have a small handful of players? Then yes, I read them all.
Three, does the group have a high number of players and I am not a GM? Then no, I only read the ones that...
No, no, that's fine, I should have added that to what I had before, it's a bit of both. I have practical and personal reasons for it, but it's often because of agency I guess is the best way to put it, so no worries.
The problem is the speed at which that destination arrives. And this is chiefly towards battle events or partnered team scenarios against a threat. Or that's how I use them at least. Situations in which speed or flow are at a premium. It is for the sake of others in the group, and that events...
I've never really thought that way about an RP interest check from my own end. My first couple on here have been "small" for my normal settings, though there are times, several in fact here on RPN in which I have went; "If you want something done do it yourself." to make rp's I'm interested in...
I don't have much to say that Idea already hasn't. I agree with most of if not almost all of what they said. My response will not be nearly as long or detailed for the fact Idea has put it very well, but here we go;
Do you feel that these terms are helpful or hurtful?'
Are there better words...
Hmm, I was 16, remember it well, was back in 2001, back before the net was much of a thing. By most accounts I'm a person that should not have normally ended up roleplaying. I was a wild child, shooting, hunting, wrestling, loved anime, did stunts, read a lot of military stuff, vidya games on...
I've been doing this for years, many, many, years. And I can tell you, its not often the setting alone, but a combination of factors that are akin to chemistry. I've seen RP's by great GM's tank, I've seen rp's by mediocre GM's last for a bit of time. I've been in, by this point, hundreds of...
I'll give you one correction right off the bat, depending on the formation and where it's from, the US Navy Seals as example, never put officers into a frontline team, there are online resources that list these, if you want to trust this link, this PDF details how the Army does it, which handles...
An RP that was auto resolved, named Hisakawa, it wasn't hosted on RPN, but another forum. It was an interesting RP for two reasons, one, everyone was a prisoner, a teenage range prisoner, on a prison island set around this task. Two, we had random dice rolls to decide the crime and we had a free...
While Useful, I'm in one OOC, that at least upon being established would be several pages in by the time I went to bed and woke up. And it requires the user themselves to bookmark it, meaning you have to point it out to them to do so, while with discord as an gm or co-gm with the right...
Discord hands down. You can pin important notes not lost to 5 pages of fart jokes level comments that happen in group rp's. It keeps it fresh and involved, I also don't much like keeping up with a forum based ooc. Maverick Six up above puts it pretty well too.
Broke my left wrist one summer skateboarding when I was 16 "This sucks, guess I'll mess around on the pc." "Oh wow what's this roleplay people are doing on this section of TTV anime. I'll join the PVP fights, I like Anime."

A soul eater AU rp I'm currently in on this very site in group rp, been over a year, has it's ups and downs, but a friend of mine wishes to continue so I stay around as well.
Zombie Ork man above me has it right. Groups are all I do, used to try 1x1's but I find them too much like chat type rp, another genre I don't want anything to do with. RP for me is co-operative storytelling. Isn't me to say if it's two folks. But as noted in the above post, you have to have...
