Personally, I think both "premade characters" and "start from scratch for this rp" characters can be fun in their own ways, depending on what you're looking for and what your preference is.
"Start from scratch for this rp" characters are what I do more often than not, and I generally will use...
I'm someone who has been writing with folks for about 13 years, and I'll be honest. My definition of what "ghosting" means has probably changed a lot.
First off, I'll start with some of these scenarios coming down to semantics.
Situations that I might not consider "Ghosting" but something...
The fandom itself isn't obscure, but there are a few niche character in Pokemon that I'd love to RP against that I have a hard time finding partners for.
Another Niche fandom though would probably be Infamous Second Son
Post RP partner search in various areas. Get roughly 10 responses from people interested. Spend a good amount of time plotting with these potential partners, who all seem interested in the ideas we come up with together. After all these steps, finally write out the starter to get the RP rolling...
So I used to not have an official place to store them at all tbh... but then I got a Toyhouse account and now I try keeping everything on there.
If anyone is interested in trying out Toyhouse by the way, let me know and I can get you an invite code. I have tons of them that I can't get rid of...
Lets see a few of the things that have been bothering me lately...
- Planning out a whole ass roleplay with tons of in depth stuff, starting the rp and following the plan, and then the partner just leaving before anything happens. Like... I understand if I did something off the plan or was...
I think a lot of people already touched on everything I'm gonna say, but I'm gonna go ahead and say I don't think there really is a such thing as too young or too old. Rather, I think roleplay acceptable for anyone as long as they're able to write and have an imagination. Like others have...
Oh man, it was probably 12 years ago... I don't remember all the specifics, but it was one of those cheesy generic role plays that was like "You got a free ticket to an island vacation, but when you get there, you find out there's no vacation, and you're stranded with a bunch of other people...
I had a partner who was like this, but from the beginning they told me they hadn't wrote in awhile, and were nervous they wouldn't be a good partner. I ended up going along with it and helping them out, where after each reply I gave to them, I'd give them some tips and ideas to think about when...
Small, specific tangent, but it kind of annoyed me.
I was on a different platform browsing for roleplays, and I found someone who had a thread something like "Are you tired of incompetent writers? Come to me to write! I'm looking for people who want to create a universe with me, with multiple...
Not to sound snooty about it, but I've been writing narrative for over 10 years now, and at this point in my life I'm always looking for really literate, novella style roleplay. That being said, I can't tell you how many times I've started up an rp with someone who says they're literate and can...
Attitude is a big factor for me; I want my partner to be friendly, someone who is easygoing and easy to work with, not simply just my writing partner. If they're really short and have a bad attitude in their post, it doesn't really make me feel like they'd be the same when it comes to writing...
