I'm tired of seeing interest check that focuses on what turns out to be a relatively small part of the actual rp. The amounts of time I've joined what I thought was a fast paced, action focused roleplay only for it to turn out to be mostly slice-of-life is to damn high.

I've been toying with doing an rp based on the "legend of the five rings" setting. I really like the lore (even if it jumped the shark a bit what with all that Spider Clan nonsense) and the setting lends itself perfectly for more political and intrigue based plots.

This is more of an TTRPG pet peeve but whatever. I really wish more people would branch out and try a new system every now and then. I'm getting pretty annoyed that I constantly see people trying to run (or worse, having the fucking audacity to ask someone else to run) a, say, My Hero Academia...

The GM wasn't aware of that though, so I still don't get the issue. In what way? One is a personal preference and the other special treatment.

I don't get the issue with that. You have to draw the line somewhere, even if it gets kind of arbitrarily. I mean, had the guy drawn the line at 17, 16 year olds would get annoyed when they were rejected since there isn't that much of a difference between 17 and 16. Had they drawn it at 16, 15...

To be fair, if you look at someone's profile it just mentions their age. So it's not that unreasonable to assume they weren't aware of OP's impending birthday.

The hatred some people seem to have against "auto-hitting" is starting to get on my nerves a bit. I get why people might take offense at, say, breaking another character's arm without permission but I don't really get why people always make such a fuss about their character taking a punch or...

Something that has really been driving me up a wall in fandom roleplays lately is people taking something from canon but removing all the context from it. For example, I was recently in an Avatar: TLA roleplay where one of the guys playing a fire bender was a lot stronger than everyone else...

I've been a part of roleplays based on this idea and it hasn't worked a single time. The issue is that people just have too many differing ideas about what they want so the end result always ends up being a compromise that no one's truly happy with. And that is assuming that the planning...

I honestly side with the admin. Using an currently ongoing roleplay to recruit members for your own is kind of rude.

I don't see how this solves my issue though. Even if they accept my elevator pitch, I still won't know whether they are actually going to enforce the rule in question or if they going to do it in name only.

But I don't really like that sort of thing. Creating my own character is like half the joy of roleplaying for me, and that includes choosing my own character's powers.

I hate, with every fiber of my being, roleplays that limit the number of powers a character can have while not also limiting what those power can do. It just leads to situations where people cram as many different abilities as they can into a singular power with increasingly half-assed...

That depends on the definition you're using. Another definition of literate is "versed in literature or creative writing" so it's factually correct to use to describe your skill level.

The main issue is that everyone that express interest in that rp tends to only want to take the piss out of Christianity.

To be fair, I've been on the reverse side of this (I.e people getting upset at me for daring to assume they were fine with something that their search thread clearly stated that they were) so many times that I always ask people if they're fine with something regardless if their search threads...

I don't really see the difference between the two options. I mean, "everyone is the main character of their own story" sort of implies that is no real main character.

I never really got this argument. While yes, some minors are going to be more mature or better writers or whatever than certain adults, those are typically exceptions to the rule. Some people are always going to be caught in the crossfire, so to speak, and while that does suck there's not...

I hate how in a lot of fandom roleplays people tend to use how ever strong the canon characters currently is to judge how strong their characters should be regardless of the plot. I'm tired of joining, to use an example, One Piece roleplays where everyone is written like they can go toe to toe...
