Yeah it took me awhile to realize it. Maybe it's gotten better but I stopped seeking out those kind of RPs as much anymore.

I've been ghosted by more people when my characters (for romantic RPs) are POC, I've noticed. Not sure what commentary to add to that but take that for what you will.

Unless the character is a kid and their relationship is with another kid as a friend or an adult in a parental manner I tend to not use minors. But when I do it tends to be the offspring of a character.

I either have my werewolves be feral if there are enough other characters to support it, or just werewolves that can shift easily. It just depends on what will make the RP flow better.

In my experience in all of my years of RPIng, its mostly the latter of what @geeking out out described, gatekeeping. Usually, if someone posts so little, they have tend to have a very poor understanding of writing in general, soeven asking them to churn out several paragraphs wouldn't "fix"...

I don't do group RPs for that reason, and even 1x1 is like that. I just think it's the nature of it. Sometimes you don't click with a partner and the RP just isn't working. I prefer to let people know that I don't want to RP because it's considerate, but some people want to avoid hard feelings...

I get asked to play a guy a lot but that doesn't bother me. I don't have any strong preference to playing towards a character's gender. I think if you play both it makes you a stronger writer, in the same way that branching out your character pool's diversity does.
