I've had my tiny list of bad things in the past. If I remember well, not too long ago I've posted in a thread here about what I dislike. But really, after reading this one (and the endless replies to another one), I've noticed how picky I might be.
GMs that aren't quite reactive to problems...
I wouldn't say amnesia is that bad, there are times when it is a vital part of the character and isn't simply used as a way to handwave the requirement for for a backstory. (But those who do that just make me look bad when I go ahead and make a character with amnesia.)
The biggest nope an RP can get, is when the who is bent just to accommodate that one player that purposefully makes a character that doesn't fit in, and will not make any attempts to naturally fit in. When the whole adventure is turned to their little corner of the world, just so that THEY do...
Thank you for asking the questions. Looking back, I didn't do too well explaining my point. It is alright, it was good to think about some implications I may have forgotten. :3
@Grey That is the point, it isn't an aesthetic, it is something that should be vital and enhance the RP itself. Finding a good way to place it in an RP is hard, as said. But answering everything from the vague ideas I have for the interesting VRMMO that I've failed to have time to properly make...
Oh, the dice isn't the important part :P I really just like the concept of a setting of VRMMO 5 minutes in the future setting.
And it isn't to fix a setting, trying to add MMO to the setting x.x Yeah, I've seen that badly done. While this isn't my thread to give any outlandish idea of what...
In a way, we would already be deciding some luck factors depending on the exact setting of the MMO. If my character rolls a dice or flips a coin, I refrain from giving a result that isn't luck based to the roll or flip. Again, I'm not doing very well communicating that one thought there...
I think I expressed myself badly. But the idea would be when doing something PvE to allow for rolls to decide things, and rolls in other occasions too. Rather than being the focus, something to facilitate resolutions.
But then again, it might just be my opinion.
Also, saying an that it takes...
I barely began a .hack... I didn't really like it. Sincerely, if it ends up as an VRMMO, you can just make a 'system' from scratch. Can even let us roll die in it to add to, the randomness factor of it.
