I mean surely they won't be that aggressive in trying to set up brood marriages. Surely. I don't know about the rest but I know sure as can be Yu Cheng will vehemently avoid such arrangements - no one gonna chain him down.

@StormWolf Oh well if they can be used for bonds - any objections to Cheng having hitched a ride on sea with Vinthor?

Look I won't go too much detail but I'll just point out in traditional alchemy, blood from 'that time of the month' is a legitimate ingredient. As I said, traditional alchemy is really fun and rad as hell.

You're not uncovering real poisons unless you are throwing in a centipede, a frog and burying them in a tube and watching what happens. Which yes this was another aspect related.

Traditional medicinal practices of that area and time-period (of course it still goes today what with cupping and all that) were rad as hell.

That's nothing compared to actively tending to the body by specifically using the Five Flavors to restore balance back in favor of what it should be and restoring the lines that connect the essence and mind; or using a hunk of tortoise shell to slightly bruise the body and watch it heal over.

That'd kill the flavor and the aesthetic which is the Bronze Age, and would turn it into just another more bog-standard thing.
  12. Aloha Loha

    Fantasy Swords, Savagery, Sorcery, Sedition...

Yes but this is the Bronze Age, not the later ages where we could forge steel. Forging techniques weren't that advanced, the best weapons you got were from naturally occurring obsidian. Quick Edit: Even so, say we are talking about when we could do it in limited amounts, I doubt it would be...

    Fantasy Swords, Savagery, Sorcery, Sedition...

@Equusheart - Oh I know you haven't quite finished up yet but, you do know steel was not present in the Bronze Age yes? Steel manufacturing took place much later.

Gee if we’re there already: I think I oughta stake my potential claim! What with first character, noting about bonds and making a handy reference about the jist of the team at that point! : P But in all seriousness, maaaybe bit early for that. And suppose kudos.

    Fantasy Swords, Savagery, Sorcery, Sedition...

Well then, I'm just gonna make note here - obviously probably still ideal to wait further for bond shenanigans but so far you essentially got A Kung Fu Alchemist who learned things that are best in life and wishes to avoid all responsibility destined for him A listless Shield-maiden trying to...

    Fantasy Swords, Savagery, Sorcery, Sedition...

I mean we're only probably gonna know him if he has deliberately angered one of our guys. Also expensive may or may not vary from time to time depending on intangible factors of 'would it be fun to give this guy a solid', 'how much can I make them owe me for this if I deny payment and rely on...
