Don't get me wrong, I do miss what we had going before the crash and inability to recover what was lost. That tragedy just killed what momentum we had.

Yes, but that was simply to catch the attention of sci-fi lovers. The whole thing is going to be more fantasy than scientific. So you're perfectly safe.
