It feels like every Stage 5 boss tends to have some sort of stupidly difficult gimmick. Stage 5 Bosses throughout the games' history have featured things like time-stopping (Embodiment of Scarlet Devil), illusions (Imperishable Night), curvy lasers (Undefined Fantastic Object), and so on.
I could probably deal with all of those things better than bullets that disappear, but still move while they do so, but way slower than normal. I just CANNOT compensate for that attack no matter how hard I try.
If you're playing for survival (as opposed to score), you don't need to worry about capturing the spell card for now. Trust me. There's no shame in bombing when things get dicey.
It's what they're best known as, but it's a nickname given by fans. That synth trumpet effect is generated from a "latin trumpet" sample found on an obscure game-music machine from the 90's, or something like that. I think the machine is called an SD-70 or something, and due to how vintage it is now, I've heard it's expensive.
And trust me, if you keep going down the path you're on, you'll be like me and know every piece of music well enough to hum. I love the themes of Wriggle, Stage 3, Keine, Reimu, Marisa, Stage 5, Reisen, Final Stage, Eirin, Kaguya, and Mokou from that game especially.
XD Alright then. I'll look forward to it, since most of the music in this game is at least decent. Most of them aren't amazing, but there aren't really any tracks I particularly DISlike.
You start attaching the music to the characters after a while (of course, you're still in the name-learning process XD). You'd have to check out other games' soundtracks too, since Imperishable Night only has a miniscule fraction of the total songs at this point. You'd probably want to hear those songs in-context in the actual games beforehand, though.
ZUN's changed up his music style over the years, especially with some of his newer games where he's brought out stuff like grunge guitars and drum solos. That, and there's also the fact that the fighting games have most of their music arranged by different artists entirely.
