What is a little annoying when people who are transgender correct me. Like, how am I supposed to know what your gender identity is by looking at you nowadays? Most transgender people I've met just assume I'm a mind reader.

If someone corrects you it just means you got their gender wrong. Being mad at them because you made a mistake is preposterous. Correct yourself with an "oh, sorry, got it" and move on

I don't just mean politely correct me, I mean straight up get offended because I'm not a mind reader.

If they're defensive or touchy about it your first time, probably something else happened that day that didn't go so well or they might be having a shitty week. Have some compassion.

Although I think you probably are compassionate. You seem really nice. I'm glad we're friends.

I'm just an asshole. I've got a certain level of tolerance, and it's below average.

Sympathy, empathy, sensitivity, care. If you were called the opposite gender every day and even 1/10 the people you politely corrected got offended or mad or flipped out on you because they made a mistake or because they personally disagree with your gender you'd be a ball of pissy emotion I guarantee

If someone gets mad at you when correcting you the first time, say, "Hey man/hey girl, sorry, I didn't know. Don't get so mad, I'm not your enemy, I'm fine with this". Decent people will chill

eh, I guess. I try to not say much about my opinion on the current state of genders because I don't want to be linched, but basically my opinion is: you're either born male, you're born female, or you decided you don't want to behave like the gender you were born as. There's no in between shit.

I disagree with that as someone who knows many in between people...and like intersex people are a thing. Trans people are the gender they identify as. And it's a fact. There's been studies on the brain that show it. So. But, uh...

That's the way I see it.

I'm not going to change your mind by arguing and I don't want this devolving into a hate fest so basically just tell me if you're going to be an asshole to anyone on here about gender, and if not, we can be friends, and if you are, I'm going to ignore you and I don't want you on my page anymore. Fair enough?
