I completely agree! I've seen theRadBrad (all hail the king of the youtube walkthrough) play a bit of the fourth game and the graphics are great. What makes A Thief's End your favorite though?

@illicit Well, honestly, there are a number of reasons. Without giving any spoilers away, the graphics are amazing, the natural settings are absolutely gorgeous, it introduces one of my fave characters, we see a lot of character development for Nathan, the villains are both funny and badass, the stunts are cool as hell, and the ending was perfect for finishing off such a long-standing and loved franchise.

I honestly can't even begin to describe how stunning the fourth game was, and how it just boosts the amazing depth of all the involved characters. There's also an enjoyable multiplayer and mini-game set which just adds to it being my favourite game ever, and I'd fully recommend it to anyone willing to give it a try.

I went on a bit of a ramble, but that's just how much it means to me - I cried and laughed when Nathan's story ended, I find strength in all of the hardships that the realistic characters had, and I live on by its infamous motto of 'Sic Parvis Magna.' Heck, I even wear Drake's necklace to remind me of how happy I was playing and watching it ^^

Okay, now I'm super hyped to play the games, especially the fourth one. I've heard of the multiplayer feature! It's very cool to have that added in. I looked up 'Sic Parvis Magna' up and I believe it translates to Latin for 'From small things comes greatness'? Ugh I have a thing for quotes so if I suddenly go on about my favorite quotes, don't mind me.

I think it's super awesome how you have Drake's necklace; you must really like the game series. I really love how games can really send messages to the player and make the player feel so much emotions. A lot of the people I know are like "Oh they're just games. You play them 'til the finish and that's it isn't it?" Nooooo. They PLAY WITH YOUR HEART AND SOMETIMES MAKES YOU WANT TO GO INTO A CORNER AND HIDE FOREVER. One of my all-time favorite games is To The Moon, and I don't know if you know it but it's so up my alley ahaha.

@illicit Heh, even the first one is amazing, despite the inferior graphics to A Thief's End. I promise you, you'll definitely get a kick out of playing them, whether or not you're the kind of person to get attached to characters and story-lines ^^ And yep, you're very close - to Nathan though, he pronounces it as 'greatness from small beginnings' as opposed to the internet's way of putting it.

Yeah, I ordered the necklace as soon as I realised they were on eBay - I got mine for only $2 from China, and it's complete with the brown leather strap and the engravings on the inside of the ring ^^ Really great quality, and I even got one for my older brother (he wears it all the time as well, and it's him I have to thank for introducing me to Uncharted in the first place).

Ah, I'd heard of To The Moon before, probably on youtube as recommendations and walkthroughs. It does look like a really peaceful/emotional game, and the pixelated format reminds me of a few horror games I've seen people play online. Were there any sequels to it?

Praise your brother ahaha, as well as eBay. eBay literally has everything. I swear, the weird things you find on there...

The first time I saw To The Moon, I actually thought it was a horror game and I didn't discover how great it was until a year after its release XD im a wuss dont judge me

As of right now, there is no sequel to it but Khan Gao, the creator, have released a teaser for the sequel called Finding Paradise. The release date is very loosely-estimated but it's bound to come out this year so I'm super excited! But like To The Moon, it's gonna be a standalone story so playing the previous game won't be required.

@illicit Yeah, once I found a pair of underwear made out of a taxidermied rat. eBay is a dark, dark place, sometimes...

Ah, you're not a fan of horror? :PP But yeah, I bet you were glad to hear that another game was being released, despite it not being dependent on To The Moon like a lot of series are. What exactly is TTM about? You don't have to worry about spoilers, I've literally got tens of games I need to play before I add another to the list ^^

I don't know why but I love scary movies; they don't really scare me. (The Conjuring 2 wasn't scary at all) But when it comes to horror games, yep ok looks like i'll be getting out of here. hahahahahaha

Although, i watched Teens React play Outlast and I loved it. just dont make me play it

I played TTM long ago so I can't really remember, but I remember the game's music being the best thing ever. The story is about two scientists who work for a company which can alter people's memories or something, and in TTM their patient is this old guy who was married to a girl named River and ugh. I'm not gonna say more cus I really don't want to spoil it for you haha. Basically, I cried from both happiness and sadness while playing the game and everything about it was beautiful. XD

@illicit I like to believe that people are more hesitant towards horror games because you're controlling the character, you're deciding everything's fate, and you're forced to react and respond to the scary events. When people watch movies, they're simply observing, rather than physically taking part - hence, the game's stronger immersion elicits (heh, your username) a more powerful emotional response than simply viewing a movie.

Ooh, I've always loved those mediums that work with neurological factors such as memory and pain stimulus! I can't remember what it was, but there was something I watched where the main character's memories were slowly being replaced with someone else's. It was a really weird thing to experience, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Does To The Moon go for very long?

True, true. Oh gosh, I would probably have a heart attack if I played a horror game in virtual reality. (and did you type elicit naturally or did you purposely use that word just to make that joke XDD)

Your memories being replaced with someone else's must be so frustrating. Like you think you did this, but you actually didnt. And your friend isn't actually your friend, it's the other person's friend. I remember it took me about 3 hours to finish the game, so compared to other games I've played it's pretty short. also i should probably go to sleep ahaha

@illicit Oh man, what about augmented reality? There's this app being developed where it maps out your entire house and, by using your camera, monsters and ghosts jump out at you from every corner. Like seriously, the app actually evolves in order to allow the monsters to interact with your surroundings. It's creepy af, but I'm into it.

(And I typed 'elicits' naturally but when I saw it I was like, yep, I can work with this).

And I know right, like having your memories slowly be replaced over a certain period of time would drive you insane. You'd begin to second-guess everything, you couldn't trust anybody, and you start to question just how, well, you, you really are. It's screwed up, yo.

And same, tbh - 2:30am, and I need to be up in a few hours. Sleep procrastination is healthy, I swear.

oh no that's scary too. SO MANY SCARY THINGS although very cool.

and ARE YOU IN AUSTRALIA forgive me if im wrong. I used to live there hehehe

@illicit Definitely cool, yeah :PP It's always amazing to witness the advancements in technology, even if such an advancement results in home paranoia and intense fears of the dark.

And yep, I'm currently in Australia - you used to live here, then?

Yep, I used to. Now I'm in South-east Asia ^^

@illicit That's pretty cool, did you move for work or something?

I'm actually still in school ahaha. Because of my dad's job, we have to move often
sass bird.
sass bird.
@illicit Ah, I see ^^ Does it get frustrating, moving around all the time? Or is traveling fun/something you look forward to to some extent?
illicit

It does get pretty frustrating because I have to get used to the new house, school, everything. I don't know what other kids who have to move often do, but I make close friends and don't regret doing so even when I move. Yea it's very sad when I have to leave them but at the end of the day, I'm happy and just glad that I had them as friends. Plus, we can still contact each other online haha.

@illicit Thanks for putting everything into perspective for me, it's really interesting ^^ Were there any particularly bad places you'd lived in, any negative experiences you've had?
illicit
illicit
No problem :-D Actually, no. There hasn't been any places I've lived in that was bad. However, a truly horrible experience was when I was about 10 years old. The moving started that year and I had never lived anywhere else before, so it was the first. I wasn't used to moving and I was super terrified and worried. The first time I got the news (which was two weeks before the move so it came at a short notice too), I cried almost every day about it. It was miserable. But, y'know, I got through that and now moving is a piece of cake ahaha.
sass bird.
sass bird.
(I'm just gonna quit tagging you, lmao). Your first move would have been terrifying - I was eight when I moved a few suburbs over, but I felt terrified because the old house was all I'd ever known and I didn't know what to expect. But yeah, what countries/cities have you lived in so far? From Australia to Asia is a large difference, so I'm intrigued to know just how far you've been around the world ^^
