No it means my public folder will no longer be public, and that means all my roleplays will have fucked up URL's for their images. Direct linking via copy public URL will no longer be a viable method of upload.
Take note that many of my roleplays span 20-30 images. :^)
IDK you're probably using the new version of dropbox where they dropped the entire public folder. But older versions have an actual public folder wherein if you upload a file there, when you copy public URL it's a direct link to the file, so you can use dropbox as an image host.
It was just super convenient that i could just save over the file in my local dropbox folder whenever I needed to make changes. When people refreshed the page with the dropbox image it would automatically update without me needing to touch anything Dx
And whenever you used copy public URL it automatically gave you the direct link :^) you didn't need to change the www.dropbox with dl.dropboxusercontent - it's done automatically for you.
Also, if you're using the dl.dropboxusercontent method, there might actually be a good chance that that method may get phased out? Because that's the public file URL.
