What were the games?

The Shadowrun series, from Return to Hong Kong, please the extra stuff that comes from directors/extended edition.  Got the pew pew, story and general RPG leveling cravings now.  Not to mention I had finished Pillars of Eternity some time before that T_T.

Ah. Never heard of those ; - ; What are they like?

TL;DR: It's an isometric RPG that takes place in a near future earth where magic and technology mixes while the world generally sucks for most people.  Something/someone powerful is always trying to kill you for one reason or another, so you do what you can: kill them first.

Ever play X-COM?  (The new ones).  They're like that only a lot less punishing, and instead of fighting aliens, you're fighting everyone that wants you and your friends dead (which is almost everyone for one reason or another), and instead of having most of the world government backing you, you're usually working for whoever's hooking you up with jobs (or shadow runs, if you will) and backed by whatever clothes are on your back, friends are at your side and weapons are in your hands.

The settings takes place in a post Awaken world, so pretty much if magic started reappearing in 2012 and then fast forward 50 or so years.  The world's run by mega corporations, international criminal organizations and secret societies.  All members of those three categories have their own private armies at their disposal, and billions of workers/wage slaves working under them (sometimes just slaves as well).  Those who are members of polite society/people who hold "regular jobs" (like being a wage slaves) have IDs called System Identification Number, or SINs.  Those that are SINless are considered less than human and no one really cares about them, like shadowrunners.  However they're also really difficult to track.  Throw in a few extra dimensional threats, a bunch of creatures that wants to eat you and greedy people/dragons and you get a pretty good idea.

It's isometric graphics style, so if you've ever played something like Diablo you'll get what's it about (camera's locked at a certain angle, graphics too).  Turn base combat.  The gear selection list isn't that large, but as the games progress from one to the next its slowly expanding.  Some enjoyable writing though.  The protagonist is different in each game but I use head canon to make them all the same person, and connect them through vague plot lines to explain everything (made them all the same portrait, looks, class, etc).  It's a fun time.  I really enjoyed the story that the developers put out myself. :)

Just craving some more RPG now, especially the pew pew kind xD :/

I've never played X-COM or Diablo, but it seems like fun. I've always been a sucker for RPGs too, but I'm just the mainstream noob who plays Undertale and Fire emblem and any other RPG I can get my hands on xD

Yeah it's certainly more western RPG, which I prefer over eastern style (like Final Fantasy and such).  I picked them up in a humble bundle, but yeah, totally worth checking out if you haven't tried them before.  Not sure if you might like them though, but they're really fun to me :)

Never really understood the hype around Undertale, but I can respect the fans that like it xD

*Shrugs* I like Undertale because it had good stories and characters, plus it made me feel a whole lot of emotions, something a game hasn't done in a long time.

I wish I could buy more RPGs, but I'm broke xD

Fair enough :)

Well, humble bundle sales are great.  Got like 7 games for ten bucks last time.  If you have a good enough computer, I suggest Steam Sales as well, especially with Black Friday/Cyber Monday coming up... ^_^
