I must've missed something..Idk what fanfic you're referring to but I'm sorry you're being attacked. No creator should be attacked for their work IMO.

I posted a status update early this morning in regards to people attacking a fic of mine and my cowriter for its content. It's still going. Like, it's 4:30 now and this all started before I even woke up at around 6:30.
They're all upset because the series started as a certain ship, and even though we foreshadowed in every story that there was eventually going to be a third player involved, they're like screaming at us about it and how dare we introduce this third person and that now everyone's basically fucked because relationships can't ever work with more than two people. And then I'm like, "Wow, that's pretty bold. I happen to be in a poly relationship and it's working out just fine thank you very much." And then we're getting attacked for "taking it too personal." Like, yeah, it's personal. Stories are personal. That's why we write them. To scream at me that this three person relationship is wrong in the story is screaming at me that my personal poly relationship is wrong, so I'm going to defend the characters' rights to involve themselves in this relationship, and I'm going to defend my right as a writer to put them in that situation.
It's all a clusterfuck of insanity that I do not understand.

Sounds like you've got a bunch of losers who have too much time on their hands harassing you. Have you thought of getting a staff member involved?

It's called fan fiction for a reason, you are the fan, it's your freedom of speech, how you choose to see your characters. Tell your trolls to go write their own fanfic if they don't like yours. It's like being a fat girl in a bikini, don't like it, don't look!

And now we're getting some really nice, really supportive comments and it's just making me cry, I'm that relieved. I shouldn't be crying over nice comments just because I was so scared it was going to be another bad comment that it was a pleasant breath of fresh air. Everything about this situation is so messed up.

At least you know you didn't do anything but your best and stood up for yourself. I would try not to take it too personal. There will always be someone who thinks your wrong.

I know that. Logically I know that, but it's hard to keep those shields up for an entire day. You get worn down eventually.
