You should be able to click outside of the quotation box and use the backspace/ delete button to remove it.  Sometimes it can be stubborn.  The same thing happened to me earlier today with tags.

I couldn't click out or delete it. I posted it with a brief explanation of the situation, and one member said to use the cut tool. Don't know what that is either, but it still seating there. Thanks for the reply though.

The "cut" tool is "crtl" + "x".  When you select a certain part of your text and use that command, it will remove the text from the post and can be pasted elsewhere.
