Well actually I saw the original first around 12 years ago, loved it read the manga (i didnt cry when it ended i swear >.>) and then watched the perfection that is Brotherhood. I own both the manga collection and the original anime series

I felt the same way when I watched the original hahhaha. I don't own the manga though, only read it a little in the library. I watched brotherhood earlier in the year though, which was really great. So different than the original though. Loved it all the same.

If I remember right the first episode I saw of FMA was when they transmuted their mother and 9 year old me was left sitting there like "what is this?" followed by tears and a life long obsession LOL oh boy I get too excited when I talk about FMA sorry xD

no problemo theere! I am all ears. Really what got me was in the original when they got the philosopher stone and Ed would sacrifice his life to fully restore Al's body, and then he would repeat the process for his brother, and then back again. XD

Hughes death. I get that its probably the one everyone refers to but holy moley Hughes was a huge personality and I just couldnt deal with his death very well xD I think it just got worse for me in Brotherhood. especially when Roy is dealing with envy and has a complete breakdown. ;_;

oh no! That was soooo disheartening! You even meet his wife and child! It was definitely a lot worse in brotherhood because the tension flows so much better in the plot.

exactly! just woah go kill the only dude here that has a wife and child and is genuinely just an all round nice guy and Roy at his funeral broke my heart too xD

Basically everything in that anime breaks your heart. So many heavy themes. Have you ever seen death note btw?

But the underlying story is really just about the love between two brothers and I think its nice to have a series that wasn't a cliche romance? Yes! Death Note is also another series very dear to my heart. It was all very intense from start to finish really

Absolutely! I'm trying to think of any moments where they might have resorted to fan service but I think there was literally none. They did not need it like a lot of other animes do. Death note was so similar in a lot of ways but idk, it was much more strategic and plotted because of the focus on the cat and mouse aspect, while fullmetal was definitely all about the sanctity of life and death.

The cat and mouse aspect was really well represented in Death Note, the way it was presented kept me on the edge of my seat rather than being overused and underwhelming to the point where it puts you off like some shows.

That's very true. I think it is because it was well thought out and shorter than some other ones that drag that stuff out to the point that it doesn't make sense anymore, only to extend the life of the series.

Aah as I call it "milking it for all its worth" basically what they're doing to Naruto whose manga ended over a year ago yet the last years worth of episodes were filler. except maybe 6 episodes

Oml I'm watching it now. I waited so long for the dubbed and it's still no where close to the subbed. So I gave up and watched the subbed only to reach all those fillers you are talking about just when it got good and its heartbreaking.

oh the feels! I'm a long time naruto fan, watched/read it longer than I have FMA but they're killing the fan base with all these fillers! I don't mind the latest string of fillers, since its about itachi but I don't understand why they've done this since the story has ended? I'd love to see the final arc play out animated but how long are we going to have to wait?

That's a good question. It is done so they have no reason at all for the fillers. But I agree they are going to kill the fan base with this. Its a shame because then they have the boruto stuff afterwards, and half the fans will be long dead by then.

I personally am much more interested in having a minato spin off rather than naruto's obnoxious brat lol

that would be amazing! More kakashi is always welcomed too though. The series was almost named kakashi just because he's such a great character.

Kakashi is my favourite equal with Minato but for me, the one who tops them all was Kimimaro Kaguya haha he would have been so OP if he hadn't died. Although, thats exactly why he needed to die

KIMIMARO! I completely agree. None of my friends seemed to see just how strong he really was. I mean the guy was literally paralysed and was just moving by willpower alone and it took so much to try to stop him.
