Defeat in Crimea
Greek military officials are in outrage this morning as reports of a military catastrophe occurring on the shores of the Crimean peninsula. A Greece fleet was reported being sent through the Bosporus straits, before being seen again from military officials on the Bulgarian coast, then being spotted for the final time off of Sevastopol. The Greek force was met with heavy resistance from the local White Army Fleet upon entering eye contact. While several troop transports were sunk, the severely out numbered and outgunned Greek fleet managed to draw out the Russian fleet far enough to allow the landing of at least 15% of its main attack force, believing the city to be ill defended. But they were met with heavy resistance.
Report from Russian Naval Commander at the Battle of Sevastopol Bay;
At around nine in the morning general quarters was sounded as a foreign fleet was located off the shore of Sevastopol. Most of my crew was already aboard the Gnevny, allowing our destroyer to be among one of the first in the fray. Our first wave of attack was led by the battle ship General Alekseyev, which led the cruiser Almaz, and a few destroyers and gunboats, including my own. The General Alekseyev took the battle straight to the only cruiser, who we would only later learn was manned by the Greek navy, which was taken out of action fairly early in the battle. The Almaz led a small strike force, consisting of our ship and the destroyer Derzky, on the leftern flank of the destroyer escort protecting their transports. Despite outgunning us they managed to distract all our fire from their transports, but were sunk or badly damaged in the process. The rest, I can not attest to. Upon defeating the flank, our engines malfunctioned from lack of proper maintaining and ended the Gnevny's contribution to the battle.
The landing force was holed up onto the beach for three hours before a combined force of police officers, garrisoned soldiers, and armed citizens stormed their position and forced them to surrender. Although it was a rousing success, this victory did cost the White Russian Navy two gunboats, and one destroyer. A decisive Russian victory.

A Second Offensive into Asia Minor

In the early dawn hours, the Greek Army launches an all out offensive from their positions in Western Anatolia. A large southern Greek force attacks the Turkish line directly opposite their positions. The Ionian Division Commander kicks off the assault with an artillery barrage of the Turkish positions. However, having had time to prepare their defense since the 1st failed Greek offensive, the Turks are only shaken by the barrage. The Greeks quickly follow on by attacking the Turkish lines with a combination of Tank and Infantry. However, with only 6 tanks on-hand, the infantry take heavy losses approaching the Turkish positions. Even so, lacking heavy weapons, the Turkish forces fail to knock out the Greek armored units and within an hour are forced to retreat. Emboldened, the Greeks give chase and begin advancing rapidly towards the east.

The Turkish irregular forces make a fighting retreat back toward the city of Alassehir inflicting minor casualties on the Greek Forces. The most significant loss to the Greeks is that of their armored forces. The Fiat 3000s break down and being unable to fix them right away, they are forced out of the action for several days. The Greek forces manage to reach Alasehir but encounter stubborn resistance from the Turkish forces. After two days of intense house to house fighting, the Greeks manage to secure the town. The Greeks resume their advance East.

Once again on the retreat, the Turkish irregular fighting small delaying actions which inflict minor losses on the advancing Greeks. More importantly, as the Greek advance gains pace, more Turkish forces slip behind the Greek lines and start harassing the Greek Supply lines. The Greek manage to reach the city of Usak and encounter a small Turkish force holding the city. The Greeks launch an attack from three sides quickly overwhelming the Turkish defenders forcing them to fallback to positions just outside the city. However the Greek advance is halted to consolidate their position. As the Greek Ionian Army fortifies Usak, more Turkish irregular forces rush to the area. The Turks prepare defenses to the North and East of Usak.

Two weeks after seizing Usak, the Greek Army resumes their offensive. However, this time they are met with a fairly large and well fortified Turkish force. The Turks having moved artillery into position, pound the Greek infantry as they advance toward the Turkish lines. Meanwhile, at the same time, a Turkish force launches a counter attack just North of Usak achieving a minor break through in the Greek Lines. Outflanked, the attack Greek Forces pull back to their starting position in Usak. The Turkish irregular forces disperse behind the Greek Lines and begin launching devastating raids against the Greek supply lines. With the road cut, the Greek commander is forced to split his forces, sending 10,000 men West to re-open the road as well as 15,000 men North to seal the break in the Greek lines. The Turks launch a major attack against the main Greek position in Usak but are repulsed with heavy losses. The Greeks come under sustained artillery bombardment as the Turkish irregular forces begin to lay siege to Usak.

While the advance in the South is losing momentum, the Greek Army has sent a separate force North advancing toward the British occupied zone along the Sea of Marmara. They make their initial attack just North of Salihi and are quickly met by a large Turkish force roughly half the size of the Greek Contingent. Lacking major armor support, the Greeks advance bravely and boldly against the onslaught of Turkish gunfire. What Armor the Greeks do have is able to advance right up to the Turkish position and begin pouring machine gun fire directly into their trenches and foxholes. The following Greek Infantry quickly join the free and the Turkish defenses are shattered. The remaining Turkish forces disperse into isolated groups that begin harassing the Greek forces as they advance quickly to the City of Balikesir. Not facing any serious opposition, they continue to advance but are stopped 10 miles North East of Balikesir by another large Turkish force dug in along a ridge line to their immediate front. The Greek commander realizing the superiority of the Turkish position opts to work his way around and attempt to outflank the Turkish position. However, the Turks in turn attempt to outflank the Greeks by launching an attack directly into the now exposed Greek flank. Caught by surprise, the Greek forces real back from the ferocity of the attack causing the Greek unit to fracture. The Turks manage to push the Greek Forces back and retake Balikesir leaving the surviving Greek units fractured.

A New Republic
This October, following the mass immigration of over 170,000 Russian refugees, the re-organization of what forces remained with Admiral Kolchak, and the quick setup of a provisional government, the Second Russian Republic has been declared. So far, Aleksandr Kolchak has been appointed as the incumbent Minister-Chairman of the Republic as he negotiates the breakaway terms from the Japanese Empire.
Elections are going to be held as soon as a nation wide census can be taken to prepare for the polls. Early polling suggests high approval ratings for the former Supreme Leader of the White Russian Movement, Admiral Aleksandr Kolchak. The entire Republic is still in its infant stages, but as immigration rates rise, its national stockpile high, and military bolstering, it is speculated the Republic will be able to withstand.

In other news regarding the Republic, following the collapse at the Siege of Perekop, the Russian Black Sea fleet, under the command of General Pyotir Wrangel, fled the Crimean peninsula, heading towards Sakhalin (The location of the new government). Using British support, it is believed that most of the fleet will make it to serve the new Republic.

Global Events
October 16th - Ceasefire declared over Polish-Soviet War

October 26th - Alvaro Obregon is elected president of Mexico

November 2nd - Warren Harding is elected president of the United States of America

November 13th - A fleet of over 120 ships, carrying nearly 150,000 soldiers, sailors, and citizens of the White Army movement begins a long steam towards the newly proclaimed Second Russian Republic in Sakhalin, stopping and refueling at British ports along the way.

December 16th - Haiyan Earthquake causes a large landslide, jointly killing 18,000 in China.

ALL OTHER OPERATIONS SUCCESSFUL

Internal/Foreign Affairs:
Put forth the Scandinavian Doctrine:

The pushing of a belief that the peoples in the countries of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland are not of separate cultures, but are of one culture, Scandinavian. And that it is the duty of the leaders of these respective governments to not only unite the region to face the growing forces in the East, especially as the Super Powers such as Great Britain and France have been heavily weakened from the "Weltkrieg" Germany is no longer a major player in Europe, and an empire and dynasty which lasted four centuries has just toppled at the hands of the serfs. As such it is our duty as the Scandinavian Nations to leave our neutrality behind and untie in the face of an uncertain world.

Teams of geologist and engineers will also be brought in form the USA to help expand the current ongoing VOC operations in the Mara Caibo region.

Military:

Reduce the size of the active US Army from 1.6 million men to 1 million men. Men who are able to find employment may apply for complete discharge from the Army reserves before the four month mark.

Send out an offer to WWI aces for teaching positions at a new aircraft school being formed. Positions as classroom instructors as well as flying instructors are open. Ask men such as Eddie Rickenbacker if they would be willing to take up teaching at the school full time. If not, ask if they would be willing to come in as guest speakers from time to time to lecture the new pilots.

Form the Joint Army-Navy Air Combat Weapons School. The Schools purpose is to teach combat tactics to new pilots in the US Army Air Service and Naval Aviation units. The School curriculum will include classroom instruction where the students are taught the fundamentals of dog fighting. Classroom instruction will be supplemented by simulated combat exercises in training aircraft provided for the school. The School will also act as a think tank for air combat strategy development where students, teachers and military experts will conceive of new uses for the aircraft at tactical and strategic levels. In this regard, the school will also cooperate closely with the naval war college to develop naval aviation.

1920 RP Turn 4 Events:

Greek soldiers have been busy on the Turkish Front preparing defenses for an eventual counter attack, tough none had occurred except for the occasional disruptive raid and artillery bombardment. During all this Greek troops were busy building sets of tunnels to the Turkish irregular lines which kept changing causing it to take longer than planned. Explosions rocked the Turkish lines from underground as the tunnels the Greeks were building was to be used by sappers. Suddenly a strong force of a Greek troops emerges through the tunnels as Greek planes arrive over head Turkish forces, strafing and bombing them. The initial assault goes well, advancing several miles and taking all objectives. Then the counter attack begins and more raids occur on the supply lines, some even going into the tunnels to cut off supplies and hide from the Greek control skies.

All other Operations go as planned

The other Scandinavian Nations warm up to the Scandinavian Dctrine and agree to increase defense spending. As such they put out tenders to all industrialized nations for Dreadnoughts, cruisers, destroyers, Submarines, and these new fangled aircraft carriers

1920 RP Turn 5 Events:

Today, May 18. A large French invasion force numbering well beyond the ten thousands marched into Turkey from Syria. Although disheartened at having to march off to war so soon. They have some respite knowing Turkey is unprepared for another push, though the generals are still cautious. As a result French forces only advance several miles and captured a few towns with minor casualties. At the same time a French Fleet has passed through the Bosporus and established a Blockade on the North Eastern coast of Turkey.

In Georgia, several Russian merchant ships and destroyers have been seen skirting the coast on a Southern heading, while several 4.7" coastal batteries fired ineffectively on them, there is speculation that those ships are going to Turkey with arms or troops.

Several assassination of Russian anarchists take place inside the navy. Securing it for the Communists. At the same time the man known as Nestor Mahnko, the leader of the Ukrainian revolutionary army has been found dead. Leading to a collapse in their command structure and the organization of the entire army, turning it into many armed mobs, which makes them easy pickings for the advancing Russian Army, advancing all the way to the Crimean peninsula. Only to be stopped by a last minute counter charge.

All other operations go as planned

Other Countries:
After considering the costs, the Scandinavian Nations have made their orders to the major world nations:
Norway will order 2 dreadnoughts, 4 armored cruisers, 4 protected cruisers, 18 destroyers, and 7 submarines.
Denmark will order 1 dreadnought, 7 protected cruisers, 13 destroyers and 4 submarines.
Finland will order 1 armored cruiser, 5 protected cruisers, 20 destroyers and 8 submarines
