Fandom Warrior Cats: The Frozen Storm

Kiri74

Cas deserves the world
It was a cool evening during leaf-bare, and Ravenheart was preparing for the gathering. She knew the clans had been slightly on edge lately because of the thunderstorm after the last gathering. It had disrupted the ending of the gathering, and sent the cats running for the safety of their clans. Thunderclan's camp had suffered minimal damages, and Ravenheart hoped that the other clans were safe as well. She shook her head to clear her mind, and resumed grooming herself. She then waited for Hiddenstar to call for the selected cats to leave.

Frecklepaw looked up from one of the puddles that the rain had created in the soil. She had been staring at her reflection, thinking about the last storm. Was it a warning or was it just a regular summer storm? She looked across the group and noticed Ravenheart grooming herself. Frecklepaw contemplated going to sit with Ravenheart but she wasn't sure if she just wanted to be alone before the meeting started because she looked slightly troubled.

Ravenheart glanced around the camp and noticed Frecklepaw's gaze on her. She motioned to the young cat to sit with her. It would be good to distract herself from all the storms and such for a while.

Frecklepaw stood up, stretched, and walked over to Ravenheart. Frecklepaw took a seat next to Ravenheart, staring straight ahead. After a few beats she asked "Do you feel uneasy at all? Like you feel like something might be about to happen but you don't exactly know what?" She asked, glancing sideways at the warrior.

Ravenheart was surprised by Frecklepaw's question. Ravenheart glanced down at her and said, "I do. I've felt like it since that first storm. It's like something is waiting to happen, but I don't know when or where it will. I'm guessing you feel the same?" She looked directly into Frecklepaw's eyes.

Frecklepaw blinked slowly, keeping eye contact with Ravenpaw. She waited another beat before she nodded her head yes. "I've felt it, I've smelled it, I've dreamed it." She sighed, looking straight ahead again. "I'm glad I'm not the only one."

Ravenheart looked up at the sky. It wasn't quite dark yet. "There's hardly ever a time when you're completely alone. There's always someone who wants to help you, or who feels the same way. But I'm sure you know that." Ravenheart looked at the young apprentice, and had an idea. "Since we have some time before Hiddenstar calls us, do you want to go walk around the forest for a while? We could hunt or look for herbs." She suggested.

A cool breeze ruffled Blazepaw's orange fur as she paced excitedly around the outside of Hiddenstar's den. She had hoped that she would get to go to the gathering this time, so she could 'get the scoop' on what was happening in the other clans. She had just become an apprentice, and she was excited to go to her first gathering. Blazepaw had never met someone from a different clan before. She couldn't help but wonder what the other cats looked like. Would they be nice? Would they be mean? The she-cat had no clue, but she hoped that Hiddenstar would allow her to go. Hence, the reason she was sitting outside his den patiently. Once he came out, she was prepared to bombard him with excited questions and hopeful emerald green eyes. He was her mentor after all, but she knew that didn't guarantee any special treatment.

Hiddenstar sighed. This would be his first gathering after he had become leader of Thunderclan. The death of Maplestar was...difficult for she had been quite the cat though he knew that she was glad to finally join her family in Starclan. As he finished grooming his pelt, he neared the entrance of his den where the scent of his apprentice was quite strong. A smile touching the tom's lips, he had expected the young she-cat to be excited. Sticking his head out, he angled his warm gaze downward and asked the pacing Blazepaw "Would you mind holding your questions until I announce those attending the gathering?" His tone holding notes of humor. Not waiting for a response, he moved to the edge of the ledge and hesitantly called out "All cats that are old enough to catch their own prey, gather under the ledge for a brief meeting."

"Only if I'm one of the names that you call!" The apprentice called behind her as she leaped down to sit under the ledge, wrapping her tail around her paws in an attempt to keep them still. Something told her that she could calm down, because she would most likely get to go, but that only made her want to bounce more. The she-cat kept herself under control though, and settled for shoving all of her excitement into her young eyes as she stared up at Hiddenstar and waited for everyone to gather around so that her thoughts could be confirmed. Questions still flitted around in her mind though, and the ginger couldn't help but wonder if Frecklepaw would get to go as well. She was the only cat that was the same age as Blazepaw as of yet, and if she didn't go Blazepaw would be disappointed that she didn't get to experience the gathering.

Frecklepaw nodded excitedly. "That sounds like a great idea, I do need some more herbs, I'm running a bit low." She stood up shaking her coat, the patches of orange and blonde reflecting in the sunlight and waited for Ravenheart to do the same.

"Good, I'm always glad to help." Ravenheart stood up and copied Frecklepaw, shaking out her own midnight colored pelt. Ravenheart trotted out of the camp and gazed around, waiting for Frecklepaw to follow her.

Frecklepaw stopped in her tracks when she saw the rest of the cats starting to circle around. "Hey, Ravenheart." She called towards the woods. "I think we're about to start. Good timing, right?" She laughed, gesturing to Ravenheart to come back.

"Oh, you're right. I guess we'll have to search tomorrow." Ravenheart laughed with the younger she-cat. Ravenheart ached to have her own apprentice, but alas she was only made a warrior a couple moons ago, and still learning to be the best warrior she could be. She turned around and trotted to the circle of cats watching Hiddenstar announce the cats going to the gathering. She then looked around for Frecklepaw.

Frecklepaw noticed that Blazepaw was at the gathering. Isn't this her first one? She thought trotting over to Blazepaw with an excited mewl. "Hi! I didn't expect you to be here!" She purred excitedly. "I'm glad that you are though!"

Blazepaw bounced to her feet excitedly, nudging Frecklepaw with her head. "Of course I'm at this one, silly. I'm not a kit anymore, which means that I can come to Clan meetings! But I want to go to the big gathering! I hope Hiddenstar announces that I can go!" She said happily, trotting around her friend in circles before sitting down once again and watching her mentor on the ledge. Leaning over, she whispered "He'll probably let me, right? I've been really good!" She hadn't gotten into any trouble recently. By recently, she meant since she'd been named an apprentice. That wasn't very long ago, but she'd decided to leave her kit mistakes behind. They didn't count now, did they?

There were many things in Nettlecloud's life that she found immense joy in - hunting, spending lazy afternoons dozing off in the sunlight, watching young kits scurry around the camp, messing with her uptight brother -, but one of the greatest of them all had to be clan gatherings. She was certain that it was something in the atmosphere, something about interacting with cats from others clans under peaceful terms that enraptured her so. Quite indeed, ever since her first venture to the island as a young apprentice, the she-cat had found herself strangely addicted to the rush she got with each gathering she was lucky enough to attend. Given the latest string of events - namely the recent storms and the passing of their previous leader -, Nettlecloud had no doubt that this meeting in particular would be exceedingly important for the clan. Winding her way through the growing crowd and settling herself among the forms of her clan-mates, the gray tabby turned her eyes towards the form of her leader. The anticipation cursing through her veins could not be ignored and Nettlecloud knew, without a doubt, that this meeting would set the stage for the days to come.

"Duh, sorry." Frecklepaw sighed. "I've just had a lot on my mind recently." She added, watching her friend dance circles around her. "I'm sure you'll be able to go. Like you said, you aren't a kit anymore. "Did you ask Hiddenstar yet or are you just crossing your toes that he'll say your name?"

Moon sat, alone, as for about a moon or so, she left the small group of rouges she was with, including the one that took her in and raised her. It was a brisk evening, expected in leaf-bare, but something felt off, she couldn't tell what it was, but she had a feeling something was going to happen. The chill, the smell, and the way the wind blew, just felt off, including the clouds that have started to form in the north. A cold, swift breeze came though the forest, whistling though the trees, catching her sweet, everlasting scent with it towards the clans, deeper and deeper into the forest. She stood, walking off into the cover of the underbrush, not knowing the danger that was about to come upon them, but when, or how soon was that?

The wind died down, her ears twitched a little, a cracking noise, she crouched and pushed off the ground with her back legs, leaping over a dead branch as it fell with a thud. "Looks like the storm wasn't kind on you." She said in a low tone, remembering that painful storm, that still had the forest on its tippy toes. "Same as all of us." She said, her blue, icy gaze, wondered, as her silver blue pelt swayed in another, yet weaker breeze. Her head turned with the wind, her scent going alone with it, yet again.

(There we go, looks better to me! What about you guys? I had to redo it, it was sort of bothering me.)

It was the night of the first gathering for Ashpaw. But tasting the air something felt off. Even though he should have been excited for such an event he couldn't bring himself to smile. Then again, he didn't smile often at all. Most of the other apprentices found him quite serious, and it wasn't like he meant to be. The wind brushed through his fur and he flicked his ears to the sound of grass hoppers chirping. He waited for the signal to head down to the gathering sight.

(Sorry to make it short but I'm a bit busy right now)

Minkstar looked around as he was sitting at the riverbank, looking unto the water. It was an old and outdated technique, but paw fishing was something that Minkstar mastered, and also something that he enjoyed to do. Being the leader of the River clan, he had to know everything about the water, and how to read it. He closes his eyes as his ears perked up, listening to the constant stream of water. Suddenly, he heard the faintest splash, and he swiped his paw through the water, a large minnow being flung onto land. He quickly killed it by biting the neck, setting the fish onto his pile that he made. It looked about suitable, three trouts, four minnow, and three smelts. It was definitely enough for half the clan, and it was a prideful thing to be such a good fisher. As he was dragging back his large piece of bark that he stored his catch on, looking around at his clan. Today was the day of the gathering, but he wanted his clan to eat first before he took his warriors and their apprentices to the site.

With a loud yawn Duke stretched his body out, it has only been a few months since his arrival to the area of the clans or at least that's what they call themselves, to him their like dogs in packs except not dogs but cats. He got up and walked outside from his little shelter he had found and went into the forest for his daily hunt for food which isn't hard to come by either. He felt like he was forgetting something important...... Oh yeah today's the day of the gathering of clans if Duke counted the days correctly, he only knows because he was told this like he actually cares or anything. Well back to hunting, oh look a mouse!

After catching, killing, and eating the mouse while ridding himself of the remains he decided to roam a bit just to admire the scenery and to pass the time.

DawnFrost looked around at the forest scenery while getting ready for the gathering. This wasn't her first one, but she was still very excited. Then DawnFrost suddenly felt odd... and then nervous. "Why am I feeling nervous? Its not like its my first time coming to a gathering..." She thought as a confused look appeared on her face. DawnFrost then waited for HiddenStar to announce the cats who are going to the gathering. "I must be nervous because another storm might occur" DawnFrost slowly began to feel less and less nervous.
