I usually listen to my regular playlist or whatever music CD I recently bought (yeah those are shockingly still a thing), but sometimes when I feel like I need a bit more inspiration I pop up some rather specific songs, artists or genres, like Shirobon is perfect when writing Sci-Fi, at least...

I can immediately guess a game's control scheme by just knowing the genre and age, great for skipping over tutorials but sadly I still have to translate it to real world stuff like cars or the blender :(
