Its often a hit and miss afair in my experience. Its very dependent on you and your rp partner(s) at the time as well as the nature of the specific rp.
If its entirely freeform it can frustrate those who seek structure and potentially stall progress due to tangents constantly cropping up. But...
I've one project I've developed a love hate relationship with over the last 8 or so years. As it is I'm still unsure if it will ever see the light of day, let alone a publisher's inbox.
It's a futuristic sci-fi tale of social friction, political intrigue and revolution featuring both a coming...
Oh haven't I?
Most recent was getting the Heck away from the BNHA/MHA fandom. Before that it was having to distance my self from an anime that in itself is wholesome and a feel good cute girls doing cute things series, but its fans more recent reputation has sullied it to the point I'm actually...
Going down the reseaerch rabbit hole is both a passion and a bane.
I was once asked to help lead a japanese tcg based rp and had to spend time looking up obscure characters, locations used in manga and light novels as well as some doujin while simultaneously tracking down the translations of...
Mine have always been tailor made for specific rp's with the exception of D&D, so I have a nest of folders on my pc arranged by site>> rp >>current//old and by the specific characters themselves
If its a long term rp then each character I use has their origin spec sheet, current spec sheet...
Waay back in the dark ages of RP forums where the front page was 70% other RP forums in your webring and everything was html coded or proboards.
I used to co-run or mod some of the bigger digimon RP sites to the point i was no-life'ing them outside school acting as canon characters, site...
The best measure I can think of without going into too much detail, is if you imagined how Nibutani or Togashi reacted in Love, Chuunibyou & other delusions every time their chuuni pasts were brought up.
Thats my reaction during the thankfully ever rarer occasions my old rp's are brought up...
"When is a legend legend? Why is a myth a myth?
How old and disused must a fact be for it to be relegated to the category "Fairy-tale"? And why do certain facts remain in-controvertible while others lose their validity to assume a shabby, unstable character?"
~ Anne McCaffrey, Dragonflight
Most definitely my interest in Japanese Idol culture, especially at my age. Being able to cite the names of your favourite units and if they're a multimedia one like LoveLive, their actresses names and favourite food can get you ragged on something rotten. We'll just conveniently leave out...
All the time. It's usually an age far lower than my actual one but I put that up to my playfullness, carefree nerd fashion sense maybe a smidge to being baby faced.
Getting ID'd for lottery tickets at 30+ isn't as embarrassing as it used to be.
Slowly working my way through the new Digimon game which released recently. It's quite different from what I was expecting as it swaps gaming styles often.
I was honestly struggling for something self descriptive so opted for something that I find intriguing instead. The idea of being loyal but protective fell in to place by coincidence as I'm generally of that mindset irl.
Hello all, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
I'm an experienced (though admittedly rusty) long time roleplayer having cut my teeth in the world of old digimon rp webrings back in the early 00s, where I was intricately involved in multiple sites and projects. I tend to favour more in...
