Fantasy Path of Kings

Kimiko_Banner.jpg
Location: Throne Room

Kimiko turned her head as a Silver Knight ventured into the throne room quickly speaking out. It wasn't hard to tell how much of a rush he had been to deliver the message giving the report. She looked on, a serious expression on her face taking in the details. She quickly began to think attempting to piece together what information she could remaining by the King's side. In part she wanted to address the threat herself, but her job before anything else was to protect the king. Even if the creature's motivates didn't seem to involve the King at all she couldn't take any risks with it.

She turned to Q as he spoke to the King, giving a light not in response not wanting to inject herself into the suggestion. She wanted the King to make his own decision. She looked to Lord Highwind giving a simple nod in response. "Be careful, ensure the creature does not escape. If it can be taken alive do so, but do not put your lives at risk to do such a thing." She commented before he ventured away in order to deal with the new threat. It was their job as the specialized elite of the Kingdom to handle such threats. She didn't like the idea of being unable to help but as their leader it meant that she above anyone else had to put trust in them to be able to do their job. it would be disrespectful of her if she couldn't put faith in her own Knights.

She turned her head looking to the King more then certain the situation hadn't helped at all with his nerves. "My King, I shall remain by your side. Do not worry, my Knights are all trained to handle such tasks, believe in them as you would believe in me." She commented before bowing her head lightly in response. She hoped she could instill some ease to the newly crowned King in order to more effectively lead in such a time of crisis.

When the knight came talking about a monster the ball room went in full panic mood. Clara was getting pushed around a little as the maids were trying to make their way out. She tried to follow but she seemed to get further away from the door then closer. She didn't want to be in full panic mood especially when she wasn't even fully sure to what exactly was happening. She didn't even here the full repot cause people started talking. All she heard was the word monster and there was uproar. She ended up getting pushed over was not good cause it was possible for her to get trampled. But then suddenly there was a sudden calmness in the air and everyone seem to calm down. Clara stood up and quickly went to the back of the crowd. It was all mixed up now to where everyone was originally standing. Though Clara did notice Q who seem to be swinging on the chandler then made his way out of the throne room and along with everyone else. They all looked at the King waiting for him to say something anything really. As this was going on Clara decided she would slowly make her way to the door. If there really was something going she thought it better for her to get to the servants quarters.

Krozius (NPC)
Tomb of the Saint

Krozius looked directly at the unfortunate mistake that pierced him in the chest - Ariel's arrow. The explosion rendered him completely destroyed, scattering pieces of liquid darkness all over the room. Within seconds, however, it started moving closer together until it was back in the form of a humanoid body. In less than ten seconds, Krozius almost fully regenerated from that attack, but a fact that they did not know was that it imperceptibly, insignificantly hurt his inner energy. Although just a flesh wound, enough of these and he might just start feeling some anxiety.

Just as Krozius was about to continue to mutilate the incredibly rude woman that dare attack him, a new annoyance bothered him. More of these mortals: Paladins. They were like little bugs. Krozius paid them no heed, his tentacles, seemingly, with minds of their own, killed the paladins by piercing their heads with precise thrusts, much like swords. The others were even more annoying - miracles. He simply moved his wrist, redirecting their spells back at them before their brains could register what happened... at ten times the power. With this amount of magical energy, their miracles would be powerful enough to melt them into ash.

Krozius sighed. "Absolutely pathetic," he grit his teeth. "I despise miracle workers. To run to gods for aid because one is too weak on his own... the moment anyone does that, they lose. Feeble. Pitiful. WRETCHED!" he yelled, then looked back at Ariel, starting to move in her direction at fast speed.

Suddenly, Krozius rose an eyebrow as spikes of sharpened ice pierced all of his body. He did not seem bothered in the sense that he didn't seem to have cared at all. He did not display any signs of pain, fear, or actually worry. The monster glared at the vampire, first irritated, but then, its eyes widened up, as in realization. It turned its whole body, seemingly taking interest in Avrel.

"Oh? You summoned a solid alchemical compound, hoping it would harm me? Water in solid form... known as ice. Yes, that's what you used. What a painfully amateur magic, I am disappointed. Clearly, magecraft has greatly degraded in my absence. Tell me boy... are you a mage, perhaps?" he asked. There was a difference in his voice. The contempt he felt earlier was nearly gone, replaced by genuine curiosity, completely ignoring the thirty-something spikes of ice that were penetrating his body.

He was ignoring the antics of the meaningless mortals around him and focusing on the sole figure similar to a sorcerer he saw.

Q ran into the Tomb as the beast flew off. A couple of his staff were already there, but didn't fight. Receiving a report of Ariel's impressive attacks against the beast from one of his fellow spies, he approached her. Sweat rolling down her face, Sniper Crossbow in hand, she cut a big smile as he approached. "Victory!" she exclaimed, throwing up her hand, which still had Bolt in then.

"My reports that you did incredibly well against the beast. You know, I'm looking for a sniper amongst my Assassin Corps. How would you like to join?"
Q pulled out her papers, which held an impressive spy resume

Ariel's eyes widened at the proposition. "Wh- What are you saying, sir?"

"I'm saying that it's about time you move beyond just Intel Gathering. It's about time for you to start hitting the Hit List and extracting intel. Interested?"
"I-I......I just....." Her eyes started getting watery. "I've been waiting so long for the opportunity to join your Inner Circle. I'm beyond overjoyed that you want to give me the opportunity. I'll gladly take it." she finished with a tearful smile.

Q smiled at her. "Right then. The ceremony will take place 2 days from now. Clear your schedule for that day, as we have a lot to discuss. Skills to gauge, Talents to hone, and information to relay to you." he nodded to her and then finished. "I'm glad to have you aboard, Ariel." Q walked off, leaving her sinking to her knees crying tear of joy. In the world of the rogue life, Working closely with Q was one of the highest honors an assassin/thief/scout could ask for, and second only to becoming the official Spymaster. Being the commandeer of webs of information and sources unknown to anyone else, even kings.

Throne Room
Q made his way back into the Throne Room. He jumped back on the Chandelier and nullified his Calm Spell. "The beast has taken off. You are all safe. No need for panicking, as the King has the best set of guards in the world. Our jobs are not only to protect His Highness King Arkas, but to protect the people of this great country. We will live and die for you, and we will live and die for King Arkas!"

"All Hail Arkas, the Once and Future King! All Hail Arkas, the Once and Future King!"
The people started chanting as loudly as possible.

The dragoon was about to follow up with a breath of fire when he surprised to see the creature rry to cast and ultimately fail at using its magic. So it runs on Mana completely, that means to kill it we must exhaust its stores of Mana. Then Highwind watched the creature make its exit, Highwind remembering the orders of his Captain tried to catch it. He pounced from his perch in the wall to the spot directly underneath the hole and then leapt through the hole. He almost had the creature but the beast ascending to high too quickly, it escaped Highwind's grasp. He descend back to Earth landing next to the hole on the roof of the tomb. He stomped his foot cracking the stone roof in frustration. "Damn it!" He yelled.

A little later the Dragoon returned to the Throne room to report to his Captain. "The Demon escaped it flew off too high and too fast for me to catch it. If only I had my wings I could've...... No excuse ma'am I failed my assignment." He said kneeling.

After a few minutes of crying in Joy and anticipation of her impending promotion and entry into Q's Inner Circle, she got herself together. She was about to leave, but she noticed a girl (Ashlynn) lying dead. Closing Ashlynn's eyes and saying a quick prayer over her, Ashlynn put up her quiver, collapsed her Sniper back into a crossbow and, with a heave of effort, picked Ashlynn up and carried her out. "We won, so your death was not in vain." she said somberly, knowing Ashlynn couldn't hear her.

She carried Ashlynn to the throne room. "Soldier down!" she yelled above all the cheering. "Soldier down!"

A couple of medics came in. "We'll take her down to the medical bay. Thank you." They took Ashlynn's body and quickly ran out.

Eli Vol Glynmaer
Location: Tomb of the Saint

Eli had rushed out when the soldier had called about the beast infiltrating the Saint's Tomb. This, this was what the premonition he had had was warning him about. When he got to the tomb, there were already so many dead or injured. So many others were attacking the creature, but none were attending to those who were giving up their lives for the kingdom. Eli had to make a choice. He had decided to go to work on healing those that he could, pulling them out of harms way when he had the opportunity and stabilizing those who would otherwise have died. When the miracle workers' spells were fired back at them, Eli stepped in with his mage ward, saving several of the knights who would otherwise have died, though many were still injured as mage ward could not block the entire attack. Those who he could not save, he closed their eyes for them and moved on to the next for healing. Since he was only using healing magic, he did not bring much attention to himself, and did not catch the creature's attention. The creature fled soon enough, anyway, though Eli continued to sort through the fallen, attempting to heal everyone who required it.

Eventually, Eli ran out of injured, and was left only with the dead. He sighed, looking around at all of the fallen. They had been brave warriors, serving their king. Several of those he had saved were thanking him profusely, others were mournful of the dead. Regardless, the man began to address the few soldiers who were still able to move about, as well as the medics that had come in. "We need to collect the dead and prepare them for a proper burial. There should be a place for them in the medical bay as well." Already, the medics had picked up Ashlynn -- Eli had already gone to her during the battle and realized that she had passed on -- but now they also began to attend to the other dead. Eli would follow them to the medical bay as well, in order to help prepare the bodies for burial.

King Arkas
Throne Room to his room

Well this day just got way worse. First a silver Knight ran into the throne room, speaking about a demonic beast not being affected by holy magic. Most importantly the beast was looking for the saints corpse.... Arkas had a hunch, and he sure as hell hoped that it wasn't true. While he only had a sliver of a reason Arkas couldn't move. As soon as everyone began to panic and Q began to give him a suggestion the young King froze in fear. He couldn't even move his feet, or lift his eyes from the ground. Soldiers were probably fighting and dying for him and he just stood there and did nothing. Arkas just stood there as if someone had paralyzed him with a spell. It wasn't until Q stood from the chandler and told everyone that everything was alright. Then everyone started to chant All Hail Arkas, the Once and Future King! Though Arkas honestly didn't deserve the praise.

In one swift motion Arkas turned around to the large door that he came in from. He began to walk to it and while passing Kimiko he silently said, "I-I'm sorry." Still keeping his eyes to the floor as he spoke, Arkas felt terrible and he left the throne room and closed the door behind him Arkas broke out into a full sprint. The poor crown on top of his head nearly fell of as he raced to his room and once he got inside Arkas quickly shut the door and propped up a chair so that no one could get in. Today had been too much for him, those people shouldn't have died.
(Welp hopefully this is going to be Arkas's end to arc 1)

The creature was quick, and its counterattack happened much faster than he anticipated. Jarvan could only react to part of it, changing into a defensive state, bracing for the hit.
He heard something crack - definitely coming from him, but the intense pain only started when he reached the floor. He had braced for a much lighter hit and his underestimation punished him. He laid on the ground for the rest of the fight, convincing himself that the others could handle it. It only made him annoyed though, when he watched as the monster fled right after causing this much destruction. He slowly channeled his healing towards his ribs, slowly feeling his flesh mend together but not his bones. He cautiously stood up, but the pain forced him down again. I'm completely useless... Didn't even touch the damn beast. With that thought continuously longering in his mind, he waved a medic away and lied down on the ground. If i do get to the medical bay, i'll do it myself.

Krozius (NPC)
Village - 52km away from Atregas

Having arrived in a small village, the creature who was flying at blinding speeds quickly dived and landed, creating a shockwave for several meters that left large cracks in the ground he hit with his feet. Krozius looked up at the commoners in the village working and walked instead of exhausting his wings. As soon as he entered the streets, the villagers started staring at it in fear and praying. Krozius erected a physical barrier around the village to ensure no one could escape.

"Commoners! Ruffians! Mongrels! I expect to see the leader of you. Show me your leader, or I will start slaughtering all of you." Krozius looked around tenaciously. The villagers merely moved closer to the walls of their houses, uttering protective prayers, but not doing anything to fulfill his desires. Krozius grit his teeth, his eyebrows and shadowed features turning visibly angry. "ARE YOU ALL DISABLED MENTALLY? I JUST GAVE YOU AN ORDER! YOU EXIST ONLY TO DO WHAT I TELL YOU TO!" he yelled at them.

As a punishment, Krozius swung his hand to the left. The wind created from this movement was so potent and strong it outright ripped two houses off of their fundaments, sending them flying through the forest and destroying multiple trees. There were people inside those houses. Now there was only bloody slush, flesh, and broken bones.

The village girls started crying, as a village elder approached the monster. "Please, stop! Please, don't do this! What do you want from us?!" the old man begged, already crying from the destruction of his house.

"From this day onward... you have the particular honor of serving me and only me." Krozius smiled. The village elder, not so much. Soon, the monster's tentacle entered the elder's mouth and killed him by whipping back and forth when within, turning his internal organs into a sticky dough. The dead man dropped onto the ground, as the villagers started running away into the forest, but found themselves unable, due to the barrier. Krozius placed his foot on the dead elder, about to do something, but then he saw a child watching him.

"You there, boy," he called out. The kid couldn't help but grimace at the sight, but he slowly approached as Krozius was gesturing to him. "Tell me. Do you think this pose would work for a statue of me?" he asked, moving his foot to lay down on the village elder's head. The boy did not reply. "I asked you a question. Do you want to replace this man? Because that's what happens when you don't answer a king," he said. The boy, non-ironically, and suppressing fear within his mind, answered him. "Use the other leg and look in the other direction. That way it would be better." The child was one moment away from crying. "Good. Courage like yours is to be commended. You can be the leading architect," he said. "What!? I have no idea on... on building anything! I don't even know how to read and write." Krozius placed his index finger upon the child's forehead and after a light shined, the child suddenly felt a change in his memory. He knew the full written alphabet, how to hold a quill properly, how to... "How... how did you do that?" he asked, cleaning the tears off his face. "When I was in the capital, I saw numerous labels and shops. I saw letters. I've memorized them and my brain arranged the most likely order of reading them, as well as its spoken equivalents. Through sheer intelligence, I've learned how to speak your language. My meticulous analysis is peerless." The boy was actually amazed. "That's kind of cool," he said, almost smiling in curiosity. "You think? Well then, that doesn't change the fact you still don't know how to build, and the other ruffians don't know how to-- actually, I changed my mind."

The creature laid his hand on the dead elder's cranium and sucked his soul out, starting to hunt and renew his energy. "Your friends will serve me as a source of energy, but I will revive them as soulless servants with semi-intelligence. You, on another hand, can have your soul. Tell me, do you want to be my advisor, child? I can give you great things. Power, women, wealth, magic. Would you like to have these things, little boy?" Krozius reached out with his hand to the boy... who accepted and shook it, although with visible anxiety. "Good choice. Tell me, what is your name?"

"I'm... I'm.... Khayon," he said, following Krozius who started walking around and killing villagers then sucking their souls out. The boy didn't seem too afraid anymore... he was fascinated, excited... happy? "What's your name?" he asked. Krozius suddenly turned around, as if offended. "I can't tell you my name, just call me Krozius for now. Alternatively, you can call me Master, Father, or 'My Knight.' Your choice. Now, Khayon. First I'll teach you basics of magic. Then I'll show you how to make a zombie. Then I'll teach you the ancient art of consuming souls and turning their refined energies into raw magic for your use."

"This is gonna be fun, master."

As they reached the medical bay with Ashlynn's body, Ashlynn's hair turned to snow white. Creaking from her back could be heard as her spine reconnected and healed. She was placed on a med bay bed and all of a sudden she began to breath again. She groaned as she sat up groggily. She felt cold, but to her it felt natural. She kept here eyes closed but it was obvious she was confused. She slowly opened her eyes as she it was obvious she had changed even more. Here eyes had changed from their normal pink to light blue like Ice. she looked down to her hands as she felt her own tears roll down her face.

"I... I am alive...?" She said as she scrunched up into a ball. "I... I died... but..." She said to her self as she looked over her knees. She saw her hair was now white. She tried to use her magic but all that came from her was little ice particles. "What happened to me..." She remembered the moment of her death when her spine broke. She had been a spirit and had gone up to the heavens. "I.... I saw him....." She said with tears in her eyes. "I saw Xeroth... and he said... I wasn't allowed to die yet...." She looked down while crying. "Why would he say that..."

Many years ago was it that a single anonymous person, a Saint in Silver threw his life away in the favor of the country, and possibly the planet. In order to allow the people who would face the black knight, he threw his own life to the ground. Now, this unknown man is gone but never forgotten.

Today, the festival known as the Day of Silver takes place, commemorating the sacrifice of the Silver Saint and the death of the Knight in Black.

The day known as the Day of Silver is free from work. Instead, all efforts are put into creating a massive carnival where everyone from peasant to king can enjoy themselves. Knights go and challenge each other, testing their skills in friendly spars. Citizens go out to the streets and dance to music. The aristocrats sit on the balconies of their mansion and watch the streets of the city, drinking special wines.

As customs have it, on this day the castle is open to all common men, but only a single wing of it; the Tomb of the Silver Saint. Traditionally, guarded by a single Silver Knight on this one day, he is to stand guard as many pilgrims and citizens alike come in to pray and thank for their kingdom.

As it was discovered roughly two weeks ago, there was no body in the grave of the Saint, however, the whole thing was covered up by the Spymaster so the commoners wouldn't worry. A small squad of Silver Knights and Court Magi acolytes were sent out to investigate this, but found no decisive leads yet - some higher ups believe this is a waste of time. But then, no one really cares about that now. The tomb was rebuilt and like every year is ready to accept the citizens.

Chronicle 1: Chapter 2: Gone but never Forgotten.
Date: 999-09-10
Weather: Cloudy sky, slightly windy, slightly chilly. Occasional drizzle.
Goals:
  • In General: Celebrate.
  • Lord-Commander: Play billiard. Do tournaments and shizz.
  • Court Magus: Flirt with them castle maids.
  • Spymaster: Sneaky sneak.
  • Guard Captain: Look out for shady people. Stay close to the pretty boy with white hair. Also, make sure someone's guarding that nice tomb. Also, pray to Jesus Silver Saint. Maybe joust and do tournaments if the king lets you.
  • King: Give a speech maybe. I dunno.

Somewhere... Krozius has established a small realm for himself. Ruling over a minuscule province of the country with an iron fist, from his castle. No one in Atregas yet knows of this yet, as Krozius' magic marks everyone in the domain, allowing no one to leave unless he lets them.

Sitting in a comfortable chair, Krozius took a sip of expensive wine. "Disgusting, where did you get this?" he asked, throwing the cup on the floor as it cracked. One of the scared maids cleaned it up at once, then carried the broken cup away as another one cleaned up the stain. The shadow-covered demon had evolved slightly, his eyes were now fully red rather than black, and the tips of his black pointed hair displayed some white on them, hinting at a deeper color below. His arms were more human, so were his legs. His tentacles and wings were fully gone from his body, as he had replaced the tentacles with telekinesis and wings with simple flight.

His young, 11-year old advisor, sipping some of the wine on his own nodded to him and sat the cup on a table next to him, also sitting in a comfortable chair. "I agree. I'll get another one next time," he said. The 11-year old was wearing most unusual clothing for his age. A black raiment with small plates of blackened mithril armor placed across his body in a way that it wouldn't restrict his movements. The black-haired, blue-eyed boy looked at Krozius calmly. "Don't bother," he replied. "Next time we'll try all of the local wines. For now, let's enjoy the duel," he looked forward. So did the boy.

The two were placed on a balcony far above ground level, enjoying various small pleasures as gladiators fought below in an arena. Two combatants, with several corpses scattered across the arena. The first one wore a metallic helmet and sandals, coupled with a mithril buckler shield and a shortsword out of the same material. The other, with a trident and net, as well as a large helm with a T-shaped visor and a chestplate, was clearly better equipped.

The fight went on for several minutes until the small audience of watchers gave a gasp. In a wide arc, the swordsman cut his opponent's leg deeply, disabling his opponent who fell to the ground. Krozius smiled at Khayon. "What do you think? Mercy, or death?" he asked. "I don't know. I think both of them fought good, but it seems the one with the trident was bolder. That courage is what led to his downfall," Khayon said in genuine contemplation. "What wonderful thinking. Your analysis was spot on. I see you've learned much in our short time together," Krozius laid his head on Khayon's head and caressed it rapidly, scattering the boy's hair. Khayon smiled in response, closing his right eye as hair got in its way. "Then we'll surprise everyone watching, shall we? A warrior's pride should be punished. Warriors are meant to feel no pride, only regrets," he stood up.

Krozius walked over to the balcony's edge, lifting his arm above the barrier and showing it openly to everyone with a clenched fist. The victorious gladiator was waiting for his master's verdict, so was the loser of the duel. Krozius stuck his thumb out and reached downward with it. This was a death sentence. Soon, the swordsman's blade pierced the chest of his opponent, killing him almost instantly.

Some of the people cheered at the blood, others gasped in shock. "A wonderful way to spend time whilst these little idiots find the Saint's body for me," he said, returning to his seat. Khayon looked at his master in curiosity and some confusion. "Huh? How so?" he asked. "Khayon. Tell me. Do you know how Gods are formed?" he asked. "Uh, no. Sorry. I haven't got to that chapter yet," he frowned. "That's understandable. To explain quickly. Whenever people pray, they often pray for something specific. Their mind's subconscious connects with the soul without their knowledge as they pray. It targets the very concept of their prayer and sends out magical energy attuned to that idea out into the many layers of reality. Do you know what happens then?"

Khayon thought about these words for one minute. "I think I get it!" he suddenly started, opening his eyes and looking directly at his master. "The magical energy collects into large clumps, creating a large cluster of power unified and attuned to the same concept. Eventually, if the prayers are good enough in quantity, that cluster gains sentience, and with sentience, a pseudo-soul and pseudo-mind. That way, he can also form a fake body and becomes a god?"

"Spot on analysis, boy. I will have to reward you. You are making impressive leaps in intelligence. Regardless, I plan to use that same concept to track down the Saint. When people will pray with the concept of blessing his very soul in their mind... all of that energy will go somewhere... it will go..." The boy's eyes widened in amazement. "Straight to him! And you will track that energy?! Wow, amazing! You basically had the world do all your work for you and all it took was wait a little! Master, you're so smart!" Khayon praised Krozius. "Yes, but--"

Suddenly, the door behind them opened as two soldiers walked in, with a man in black robes behind them. "Master Krozius. It was exactly as you have foreseen. During our patrol, we picked up an energy near the capital and neared it. We found the shard that fell out of your armor when the Silver One made a hole in your armor. It was charged with energy from the very stars." The chaplain in the black robes stepped forward and revealed a piece of cloth, laying it down on the table and unwrapping it. It revealed a large, obsidian shard, much like the one Krozius was formed from, but much bigger. "Wonderful. I have all I need to return back to my old form. Khayon, I have a quest for you. I want you to go out and find the most skilled blacksmith you can. I'll let you have three or four weeks to accomplish this. I want you to tell him to melt it and combine the melted liquid with adamantium, then reforge it all into a plated armor. I will require a large ritual to return to my original body as these fools destroyed it. An armor like that will be needed in order to complete the ceremony."

"Yes, m'lord. I will get on it right away. When the blacksmith refuses to forge it for free, I assume I am to use a mind-control spell?" Khayon took the black obsidian shard of armor in his hand and placed it in his bag carefully, feeling a tremendous energy within.

"Correct. Now go on, boy. When you return, I will reward you tenfold for your deed and tenfold for your intelligence." Khayon smiled excitedly and ran off.

Krozius smiled too, with a new chalice of wine delivered to him. He took it in his hand and sipped softly. "Excellent."

Meanwhile, in Atregas...

Loud festival music blared through the streets. The Tomb was not open yet, as the Guard Captain ( Hanarei Hanarei ) was yet to assign and send a fitting knight. The Lord-Commander ( Captain Gabriel Captain Gabriel ) was in his personal armory preparing for the tournament. It was seen as a grand dishonor for a man of such position not to show up and fight in the arena on a day like this.

Soldiers paraded through the streets victoriously, among them several silver knights were visible. People cheered, their children on their backs, reaching out. Young maidens handed flowers to the passing soldiers, who accepted the gifts and swiftly kept in formation. Aristocrats watching from the balconies of their particularly large houses waved to the passing soldiers and drank expensive cuisines, also consuming the best of pork on a day like this.

Who knew what the ruler of the country ( Captain Spooks Captain Spooks ) was up to on a day like this, but surely he was faring well. It was rare to be in a poor mood on a day like this. The Court Magus ( Rin Nyx Rin Nyx ) was most likely up to no good, and the Spymaster ( Kylesar1 Kylesar1 )? Who knew...

"The hot baker I told you about. Oh! I'm so excited!" Clara looked at her realizing she was still in her maid uniform. "Um aren't you going to change?" "Oh yeah but I'm going to see mother's and change there. Oh which reminds me I completely forgot my lucky necklace! I'm going back to get it go on without me!" Her friend said as she took off down the hall. Clara sighed a bit. "Date huh?" Clara stopped by a window and looked out. It was cloudy and looked like it might sprinkle on and off.

Servants were all around Augustus, placing pieces of armor onto the Lord Commander's body. As they were done, he grabbed a sword and looked at it. "I am ready." He spoke to the servants, as they moved away from the Commander's way, letting him walk out. He left the armory, heading towards the Arena. As soon as he entered, the crowd cheered in appreciation. He raised his hands and the public in the arena suddenly silenced. "Knights, duelists, fighters...you are all gathered here to do one thing! And that one thing is to take part in the yearly Dueling Tournament to prove your worth in physical combat! And I tell you one thing...DO NOT HOLD BACK! Let the tournament begin!" He shouted, as a magical crystal that was floating near him amplified his voice, so that everyone in the arena could hear him. He walked towards his booth and sat on it, watching the tournament's contestants duel each other without holding back.

Surprisingly enough, after about fifteen duels, the finalist was a 16-year-old boy. He was meant to fight Augustus.
He descended into the arena and unsheathed his sword, "Boy, don't expect me to hold back just because you're young." He spoke in a low and blank tone. The boy smirked. He wore little to no armor, "I don't need you to, gramps!" The boy spoke arrogantly. Augustus's expression shifted to a challenged one. "Good. Brace yourself." He spoke, rushing at the boy very quickly, planting a kick in the boy's belly. The teenager flew a few feet backward, rolling on the ground, coughing. He rushed back at Augustus, but the Lord Commander simply waved his sword in front of himself, deflecting the boy's blow. The brown-haired fellow attacked again, attacking the Lord Commander with blows in rapid succession. Agustus deflected all of them and then he entered a sword-lock with the lad, pushing him on the ground. Then, he grabbed his wrist, twisting it, forcing the kid's sword out of his hand. He tossed it aside and pointed his sword at the boy's neck.

The crowd roared with cheerful choruses. He got up and helped the boy up, "
Enlist in the White Knights. If you managed to get to the finals, then you're good." He said. The boy nodded and bowed to the audience, leaving the arena. Augustus left as well, as the speaker gave an official end to the tournament. Augustus took off his helmet, keeping the armor on. He put the headgear under his arm, heading to the Medical Bay. He had heard of what had happened to Ashlynn and wanted to meet her. He walked towards her bed and placed his hand on the metal railing around it. "Hello. I hope you're recovering." He said in a calm and cheerful tone, smiling warmly at the woman.

Leading the group of Silver Knights marching through streets was none other than the King's Dragon, the people loved seeing him display his jump and firebreath as well. The people also loved to see him fight and so he was slated to participate both the Jousting Touranment and Military Invitational Duels. He hoped his squire had his jousting Lance ready, he couldn't jousting with his spear because they would kill someone. He wished he had a dracolisk to ride instead of a normal horse but he has yet to encounter and tame one so that just leaves something for the people to look forward to next year. Then the image of the demon flashed through his mind, if there is a next year.

The Previous Day...

The Guard Captain turned her head to the King watching the look upon his face. She could see the horror, the unease that filled him. Her eyes kept fixated at him, remaining alert knowing how vulnerable he was in his current position. The now King had been uneasy before, this new situation had only put that much more fuel on the fire. It was a perfect storm of chaos that she could never imagine would happen on such an important day. That was one she saw him approach, walking to her side before apologizing without even looking at her before walking out the door.

She turned her head looking towards Highwind as he returned, looking upon the man. She bowed her head lightly in respect as he gave his report. It wasn't hard to tell Kimiko wasn't too happy with the news. She didn't hold any ill-will towards her men as much as she was disappointed they weren't able to capture the perpetrator. She walked up to the Dragoon, placing a hand upon his shoulder. "Fret not, I am certain you did your best to try and apprehend the culprit. Tell the other men we shall meet at the hall, I would very much like to meet up with the men to discuss more about today's events. If you may excuse me, I must watch over the King." She spoke bowing her head once more in response before walking off to follow the newly crowned King, knowing how upset he must be.

A new Day, a new chance...

Kimiko quietly walked down the halls heading towards the Kings room. With the incident with the tomb in mind she had stationed a few Silver Knights to Guard it should their attacker return. With Eli Vol Glynmaer's magic in place, hopefully her plan to lure the attacker back and trap them would be successful. If they could make the attacker complacent and enclose him in to have no escape it was likely they would be able to put him down, no matter what fearsome methods of attack it might possess. She would make sure she was able to directly address the creature if she could.

The Guard Captain stood before the King's Quarters. She knocked on the door, being quite firm in her gesture. She had attempted to be very gentle with him, but after the events of the previous day it became that much more apparent she had to take things more serious. She couldn't allow him to cower away and hide away from his responsibilities. She was more then devoted to try to get the new King to stand on his own two feet. As much as she didn't like to try and force him, he had a responsibility as the leader of the nation to act his part. Few people truly understood what type of work was involved in leading a nation.

"Your highness, it is time to head out. I am sure the men would be inspired to see your presence at the tournament today as an honored guest." She spoke quite direct. She figured the tournament would be a good place to witness combat first hand in a less hostile fashion. It might not be part of her job to train the King but she was convinced it was something she would have to do. He had to learn to fight... to protect himself from danger. It would hopefully help to build up a sense of confidence in himself. He might not know it but Kimiko was more then certain couragous side to the king was in there... it just needed to be coaxed out.

"Ok, I think this should work," Eli mumbled, scratching various notes into a journal filled with formulas and adding a few dried plants into a bubbling concoction. He drew a circle on the floor in chalk, drawing symbols and lines within and around it, then wafted the steam from the pot that the bubbling concoction was in over the area, chanting a few words. The circle began to glow, then disappeared into the ground. "Perfect, let's test this out." Eli turned to a man standing off to the side. "Well, you said you wanted to help, yes? Come along then! I just need you to walk over where the circle was, then walk out." The man -- an ambitious mage and one of Eli's students -- hesitated, but then reluctantly agreed, walking over the area and returning. Nothing happened. "Perfect!" Eli smiled, tilting his head to the side. "Now, step into the circle area again and try to leave once more." The student did as he was told, only this time when he stepped into the area, Eli muttered a few words.

1. The circle glows and traps the student in the circle, rendering him unable to leave. The release word works when uttered.
2. The circle glows and traps the student in the circle, rendering him unable to leave. The release word does not work when uttered.
3. Nothing Happens.
4. The circle explodes, luckily damaging no one but leaving everything -- and everyone -- in the room covered in soot.

The student seemed to hit an invisible wall when he tried to leave. "Excellent!" Eli smiled again. This spell should work to keep that monster trapped if he appeared again. Eli muttered the release words for the spell, and...nothing happened. The student was still stuck. "Oh dear, hmm...That wasn't supposed to happen," the elf frowned, turning back to flip through his books. "Just hold on a moment there, I'll get you out of there in no time at all," he told the student reassuringly as he flipped through pages.

Spy Quarters- Private Library

"Here on this Day of Silver, we bring into the Inner Circle Ms. Ariel Cesya Lidan. Ariel, step forward."

Walking down the library aisle was Ariel, looking all business, but with a smile on her face. In the library were a group of 10 people, then the Spymaster himself. Q looked down at her from his place on the stage. "Introduce yourself, Ms. Lidan, to your newest co-workers."

Ariel stood. "Yes sir..........My name is Ariel Cesya Lidan, known only to you all and the castle staff. I'm more than happy to be joining the Inner Circle as Spymaster Quincy's trusted Sniper. I promise that none of you will be disappointed, least of all Spymaster Quincy." She bowed again and turned back to Q

Q nodded. "Now relay to us all the Stealth Corps Royal Creed." Ariel repeated the creed, loud and proud with a complete poker face to all her new subordinates. Inwardly though, she was frightened. A single mess-up will prevent the promotion from happening for the next month.

"From the shadows we look
Through the shadows we lurk
With the shadows we strike
I am the King's eyes in foreign land, his ears in every tavern, the arrow in his bow
We are the Stealth corps
Strike fast. Strike Silent
Make them talk and let them sleep
No one can hide from a wrathful king"

The members of the Inner Circle all stood up and drew their weapons. "As witnesses to this ritual, the other members will all co-sign your blood-binding contract of loyalty to the Stealth Corps. If you or anyone else has any sort of doubt of objection to her skills, dedication, or secrecy to the Stealth Corps Inner Circle, speak now." Silence

Q inhaled slowly, then exhaled slowly. A magic circle appeared under him and a contract appeared in his hand. "Now a blood signature is mandatory and all 11 of us must sign it as well for you to be an official member. Sign it." One by one, they all came and cut their hands with their respective weapons and dripped a few drops of blood onto the contract. 11/12 was Ariel herself. Lastly was Q. He drew a kunai and cut his hand, dropping his blood onto the contract. A black magic circle appeared and a hand rose from it and grabbed the paper and pulled it in. "Now the mark will change."

Ariel pulled the midsection of her dress apart to expose her entire bare midsection. The Spy mark was on her stomach. It started to shift into the newest mark. The mark of the Inner Circle

When it shifted completely, she covered herself again, and everyone finally was ready to celebrate. Refreshments were light. After a few minutes of fellowship amongst the members, Q took the stage again. "You're all dismissed. No missions or Hit Lists on the Day of Silver. Relax, but remain on duty and on call." All of them stood up, bowed, and some left while others stayed. Q was one that left.

He walked out into the hall. Walking down, he saw Clara looking out a window. "Oi," he said, approaching her. "It's not often that the Help get a day off en masse. Why are you still here?"

Avrel Ichalus

Avrel had been by Ashlynn for a while. How sad, such a young person dead. How sad of a death too. She had died instantly, but that changed when he noticed something. Her hair was white. She opened her eyes and all Avrel could do was stare as she cried. She was alive, and she saw a god? What in the world happened? Such a thing was almost impossible. Unless something was holding divine or eldritch powers it could not come back to life, and that eldritch often required something desperate in turn. As he listened he came to a realization as he thought about why someone would come back to life. She was certainly dead, Avrel had tried healing spells, he had looked at all the signs. She was dead. Her soul had left her body, but it was back.

"This is a miracle. How...how did you do that? In all my research, I have never known such a capability as to return from the grave. I...I..." he was at a loss for words and just sat there in silence for a while when a certain quote rang in his mind. "A Centura is a Ceril's hidden ability. We believe all beings have one, but Ceril's are able to touch upon theirs upon late teenage years, near adultery."

"What's your animal Ashlynn? Can you tell me?"

Ashlynn was curled into a ball. she had been like this for the couple days she was in the med bay. A lot of mages, philosophers, and record keepers were by her during those days but she had not talked much. She had not since she had originally woke up from her death. Her hair and eyes had changed, so had her personality in the most sense. She did not want to talk, barely ate, did not even practice her new magic powers. What she had been doing however was practicing her guitar. She had received it from a soldier who died the night she had come into the med bay. He had no one and had a miserable life, living to try and give his life meaning. He never believed in a god until he saw Ashlynn come back from multiple broken bones. The last words to him were 'I would heal you if I had my powers.' His last words were something that Ashlynn was still thinking about. 'Why heal someone that his destiny has ended?'

It was now the Day of Silver and she was not over everything that had happened. She was still in her curled up ball when the knight came in to see her. "Hi..." she said a bit sadly as she sighed and looked down to the guitar. It was her only source of normality left in her world and she swore right then to protect that object. "If you are wondering how I'm alive.... I... I just cant describe... nor did I think I would ever have too..." She said with yet another sigh.

Just then, Avrel spoke up. He had been by Ashlynn since she had arrived at the Med bay. "As I have said many times before Avrel... I do not know how I came back... all I know is my spine broke and everything was..." He then brought up a question she never thought she would hear be asked. "What's my animal?" she asked a bit confused. "I am a.... cat... Ceril..." Upon hearing this she instantly came to the conclusion on her own. She had a Centura unlike any other, she couldn't full die. "I.... I don't... why....." she asked herself confused and utterly baffled at this realization. "But... what happened to my magic... I can barely use my Holy Magic anymore... all that comes from me is Ice..." she said utterly baffled

King Arkas
Inside his room to hallway

At least after the two weeks Arkas had calmed down about his whole crowning ordeal, but that didn't stop his mind from speculating the attacker. constant trips to the castle library over the two short weeks, and delving into old documents and such caused his 'hunch' to seem more like a reality. That creature was hellbent on discovering the saints body, it seemed demonic and holy magic didn't affect it... neither did normal weaponry. And the Saint's body was missing, which was good considering whatever that thing was didn't get what it was looking for.

Buttoning the last button on his white shirt Arkas clipped the shortsword that he usually uses onto his hip. After what happened two weeks ago he couldn't be too careful. Arkas needed someone who he could talk to about this... Maybe Eli, he should know about that kind of stuff, bringing along Kimiko, and Q would be good too. It would be better if they got to the Saint's missing body before that unholy monster. To be honest, Arkas has been stressed out ever since the crowning.

Opening the door to his room Arkas saw Kimiko, standing right outside his door as expected. "Kimiko," Arkas said, getting her attention, "Let's go find Eli and Q, I would like to speak with them," he said, sounding somewhat confident for once. Unlike most people Arkas acts more calmer when he's stressed. Arkas began to walk down the long hallway until he stumbled upon Q talking to some maid. "S-sorry to interrupt Q, but I would like to speak with you and Eli," Arkas told him, only giving the maid a quick glance before waiting for his response. This was only their second meeting, of course their first was short lived at the crowning ceremony.

Jarvan strolled out of the med bay, and started to walk around the castle. A cast wrapped around his chest, restricting most of his back movement but still enough for him to slowly walk. The searing pain that was much more present before had now died down into an intense numbness. He grinned as he remembered the fight against Krozious, short and intense - it was a truly capable being able to handle even the strongest of the Auretis. With that thought, he was...satisfied. He only came out of resting for one purpose only : To inspect the saint's tomb once more.

Once inside, he noticed the commotion between Eli and the student, and what looked like the student miming an invisible wall. It looked funny from his perspective, as even the read mage seemed unable to dispel the spell. He casually approached the wizard, showing interest in what he was doing. "What's going on here?" He asked, a small smile spreading across his face.

Ah, Festival Time. A time when everyone celebrates something that happened well before they were born by getting drunk, fighting each other, gambling and whoring. Everyone was supposed to take a day off from their work, but for some that was impossible. While only a few legitimate establishments were up and running, the illegitimate ones never slept. The gambling dens were all open, as were the brothels, and while the legitimate side was closed off, the illegitimate side of all the Guilds were wide open to all who had coin.

For Henry Gallows buisness was booming. While the sales of cheese were halted for the day, theu were giving all their cheese away for free to any who asked for it. From the poorest pleb, to the richest nible, all may enjoy the cheese for no cost. But that wasn't where they made their coin anyway, they made their coin from the brothels, the gambling dens and something that comes out very rarely. The false Saint products.

Every year during the Festival, con men come from all around, selling their wares. From bones of The Saint, to Saint's Armour, to Sword of the Saint to even one man once selling the genitals of The Saint. All of them were fake, all of them belonged to a Guild. All of them had to pay dues to The Cheesemongers. But that was not his concern right now, right now he had only one point of buisness.

Which is why he was watching the Festival Grounds, waiting for a very important person to show up. A person whose family owed him money, and while the man himself who borrowed the money had died, his son had recently taken over for him, and by all accounts the son was much easier to intimidate than his father. All he had to do was wait for him to show himself, until then he will stand at his stall, giving out free cheese to all who asked.

The king approached asking for a word. "Why of course, Your Highness," Q said with a flourish.
He looked over to Clara. "You should take the rest of the day off before someone messes something up and you're put to work."
He then turned back to the King. "Lead the way. I can sense that you have much to discuss." Why else would he approach the Spymaster? They had never just officially met. The King knew absolutely nothing about Q other than his name and his title, so the concept of a chat was unlikely. He was surprised that he knew who Q even was, considering the circumstances of the introduction would've made it hard to remember.

He would follow the King wherever he went

Eli Vol Glynmaer
Location: The Saint's Tomb

"Hm?" Eli looked up from the old tome in his hands, eyes settling on the man who had just spoken to him. He had been one of the ones to fight that creature -- one of the ones who waved away his healing when he was going around helping everyone, if he remembered correctly. What was his name again...? Eli wasn't sure he had ever been introduced to the man. Oh well, it didn't matter much, he knew that the man was one of the castle guards. "Ah, good to see you are doing well enough to enjoy the festivities today," the elf mage smiled at the man in a friendly manner. He glanced back at the poor mage stuck in the magic circle. "There's nothing to worry about, just testing out something new in case the monster -- what did he call himself again? Oh right, Krozius, yes yes... -- in case Krozius decides to come strolling on in here today," the mage explained simply, then, feeling as though he had to justify the experimental spell, "I highly doubt a regular trapping spell would work on such a creature, yet your lovely captain asked me to set something up that could, so here we are," he made a grand gesture at the circle with the mage stuck inside it.

"Sir, aren't you going to get me out of here??"
the mage inside asked, frowning as the First Enchanter started talking about their project.
"Yes yes, I'm working on it. Don't you worry! Just go sit down and make yourself comfortable for a bit, hm?" Eli waved off the student's concerns, then watched as the student walked over and sat down in the middle of the circle while waiting. The circle itself, which had been glowing as the man tried to get out, now faded back to invisibility.

"Now, where was I..." Eli muttered, obviously on a teaching tirade. He did enjoy his discussions of magic, after all...
"Oh right! Trapping spells. See, regular spells won't work on something like that creature, so we have to set up something he's never seen before! Or, maybe something he has seen before, I mean I am researching very ancient magics here, it's certainly possible that..." he trailed off, then shook his head to continue, "In any case! This spell is special. Stronger. Something that could hold even a god! Or so my research claims, the theory is yet untested. After all, I would need a god to test something like that, and they seem to be in short supply at the moment--"

"Sir! Please focus!" the younger mage pleaded with the Court Magus, wanting to get out of there as fast as possible. He was beginning to regret his decision to volunteer to help...

"Alright, alright, I'm working on it," Eli sighed, returning to his book. He really did love to discuss magic and its possibilities, though. "Ah, forgive me for going on such a long-winded tirade, it is merely a subject I am passionate about," he smiled at Jarvan, then asked him, "Is there any particular reason for your journey here today? After all, the tomb isn't officially open yet, I imagine you're not here to pray."

I'll be performing today and I'm hoping it won't end up raining." Right as she said that she turned to see the King standing before her and Q with Kimiko by his side. "Oh your highness" She bowed respectfully. Did I do that right? Man I hate this why I'm suddenly running into important people recently and now the freaking King!? She looked over at Q as he spoke to her. "Yes Sir, and you don't have to worry about that. The head maid isn't allowed to force anyone to work today. Even is something happens. " She laughed a little then remember she was in front of the King "Sorry, I'll just be....going now." She quickly bowed again and went around the corner then sighed when she was out of sight. She then peeked her head back around watching them talk. " I wonder what their talking about......maybe it has something to do with yesterday?" She stopped watching quickly looking away. "Crap did one of them see me?" She quickly started walking down the hall. "Well whatever they are talking about it's got nothing to do with me. Haha seriously though what could I do?...Oh shoot I better hurry up before the wagon leaves!" She made her way to the front of the castle and got on the wagon the with the other servants and maids and made their way to town.
