Aria loves adventure, and will pursue it in an attempt to live life to the fullest. Despite her outgoing attitude, she always respects people’s boundaries, and will keep personal talk at a distance if they would prefer not to. At the time, it was just Aria and her older brother Cassius (hilariously nicknamed Cassie), who is[/COLOR][COLOR= rgb(0, 0, 0)] three years older than her; The two lived in an upper-middle class family with their mother, Diane, and father, Reese. Diane was a kind-hearted young woman, with orange hair and hazel, much like Aria; She was well-known in their community for all the good community service activities she’d engage in ever since she was younger, Diane was also the former Mayor’s daughter. Diane worked as a neurologist, thus increasing her reputation within the community. Reese, however, struggled with his childhood family life -- Having suffered from abuse, and was often moved from foster home to foster home until he emancipated himself at the age of 17; He worked as a website designer, due to his fascination with technology. Granted, the two were quite the unlikely couple, but for a brief period -- They maintained a happy, peaceful family life. There was practically no conflict, until an unfortunate night that changed Aria’s life, as well as the rest of her family.[/COLOR]
[COLOR= rgb(0, 0, 0)]Diane needed to work the late night shift, and warned her children that she would be out later than usual, to which the children understood despite being so young. She kissed her children and her husband goodbye, before departing for the rest of the night; Aria could have sworn that her father was giving her strange looks before Cassie had pulled her off to play video games together. The two had a fun time together, being a Friday night and the duo had no school the next day, it was a night of freedom for the siblings. Eventually, midnight had struck and Reese informed the two that it was time for bed; Cassie was fussy as always, while Aria obediently complied. Once Reese had helped Cassie get dressed and tucked into bed, he helped Aria and Aria could have sworn that her father allowed his touches to linger far longer than she was comfortable with. Aria, being too young to understand, shrugged off the thought and instead giggled as though she were tickled by it. The treatment, however, didn’t stop that night -- Instead, her father continued his ministrations behind her mother’s back for four more years.[/COLOR]
[COLOR= rgb(0, 0, 0)]Aria was confused, needless to say, but was continuously told by her father that he loved her -- That she was “special”. Thinking back to it, Aria would scoff and murmur ‘yeah, special’ at the very thought. Eventually, one night her father had gone too far while her mother was asleep, and when Aria had awoken and was about to scream, she was soon threatened by Reese that she would ruin the family if she said a word to their mother about this. Heartbroken and frightened, Aria kept quiet about the ordeal, and her father continued his crimes against his daughter. A year later, Cassie would return home to see what their father was doing to his little sister, and was quick to catch himself before acting rashly, and called the police as he hid in his bedroom closet and awaited the arrival of the authorities, who luckily came in just in time to catch their father. Diane was horrified to find her own husband charged with child molestation and rape against their own daughter, and she became far more overprotective over both of her children since then. Aria was placed through several therapy sessions throughout her childhood, and found a fascination with the study of Psychology and Sociology from then on. However, that didn’t change the fact that her father’s actions against her had scarred her for the rest of her life. She would never forgive her father after the ordeal, and neither would the rest of her family.[/COLOR]
[COLOR= rgb(0, 0, 0)]Life for Aria had gone to what she would refer to as a “casual period”, in which life went on as per usual -- Diane moved homes with Aria and Cassius, and the two continued to go to school, as well as attend various therapy sessions. Although loathing her father, she felt as though her family was broken up all because of her; Eventually, their mother came out to them as bisexual, and the children accepted it -- Seeing no reason to have any disdain towards what a person could control. Aria felt attraction towards women and men as well, just like her mother. That same year, Diane married her secret lover and best friend, Fionna Wilde. When she turned 16, she got into her first relationship with the total jock of the school -- Adrien Forrest, known as Ian around the school. Albeit the relationship started off on a whimsical, almost incredulous note, it soon fell to pieces when Adrien began to show his true colors. As expected of a damned jock, he not only cheated on her, but emotionally and sometimes physically abused her; When Cassius found out that his sister was in an abusive relationship, she pleaded to him that he just had a rough life and needed patience, believing that she could help him, but even Cassius knew that the guy was beyond help. 19 at the time, and just adapting to college life, Cassius found Adrien and beat him up, then threatened him to break up with his sister. Adrien complied, and Aria was crushed yet again. She found herself lonely and empty, with nothing better to do with her time than study and occasionally hang out with her friends, always displaying a cheerful demeanor to hide how she feels and who she is underneath the cheerful smiles and playfulness.[/COLOR]
