Answered Can't send PM??

MysMesFan

New Member
I'm trying to respond to a role play via PM and it's telling me that I'm either spamming or have content that can't be sent, but nothing I wrote was inappropriate or anything, so I'm wondering what the issue is? It's a bit frustrating.

I can't send a message because it keeps telling me it's spam, why is this happening?
Until new members reach a certain amount of posts they have their content strictly monitored for specific words, phrases, and other factors. If you are trying to send a PM and get this message about spam, there is something within it triggering the filter. If you are posting something on the forums, the Staff will have to manually review it before approving or declining it.

This happens because your account is new and our automatic filter is a bit overzealous on new accounts. It's there to catch spam bots, but sometimes catches users too. Sorry for inconvenience!
It'll stop happening after you get 10 posts across the forums (excluding PM, profile posts, Private Workshop and #forumgames).

Ah, I thought it might be something like this. Thank you for letting me know! Now I'm gonna seem like a spammer going around trying to make ten posts so I can answer the PM role play I'm trying to get going. lol

lol as long as you actually participate in discussions and not just spam random words you'll be fine :)

Hello, sorry for butting into the conversation- I was just wondering if sending a message to different people via PM would be considered spamming as well?

If they're legitimate messages you have nothing to worry about. :)

I was just going to ask the same question after getting the spam message for a PM reply, but good thing I peeked in here first - thanks for the replies! :angels:

All I know is, I got rid of an ellipses and that it somehow made my PM no longer register as spam or inappropriate. Clearly, the filter has a bias against ellipses...

Had the same issue, so using this as an excuse to beef up my post count number and hopefully bringing up for someone else who need to see this helpful reply

You may be running into other elements that are affected by the filter which will be strict to your account until you have acquired at least 10 forum posts. Most of the time posts are sent through an approval queue and reviewed by moderators, but messages sent through private messages cannot be reviewed by the staff, so you may need to check the FAQ for some of the filter restrictions that could be affecting your communication.

Having the same problem, so posting to get my post number up. It's annoying af honestly. Not only can I not Pm back the person i was talking to but my posts won't go through unless someone reviews it.

Hey saturn x sin saturn x sin , we know it may be a bit frustrating, but it helps block potentially hazardous spam bots from the site. DMs are accessible once you have only one post and have chosen a profile picture for your account. You may be experiencing some issues with posting in general, where the site's filter is noticing that you might be trying to share links or contact information. The filter is relieved from new accounts once you have 10 forum posts (you can do it- it's not that much!) All of this information is reviewable in the FAQ. 😄 FAQ - RpN Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I had a similar issue, but I couldn't link an oc of mine that I made on Google Docs. I know it didn't have anything weird on it, so I was confused why I couldn't link it. Then I tried linking a prom outfit I found on Pinterest, and that didn't work. It wasn't until I found this thread that I realized I needed to get to 10 posts before I can. Good thing I found this since for it being my first day being on this site, I was getting really stressed out. 😅

It's actually 3+ posts now. We've lowered the requirement a bit. So it should be fine, since you already have enough 🙂
