Despite all of this, Brent does have some decent traits which are positive; he is respectful of others for the most part and maintains a classy attitude at all times.


Biography:


From the little that he has told those around him, it could be gathered that Brent is of Welsh origin. He began traveling when he was a boy, and spend his entire life on pirate ships. His father was a pirate, and the only person who ever took care of him throughout his childhood. When his father was caught having sexual intercourse with the captain's main piece, he was murdered on deck. Brent was forced to jump overboard by the rest of the crew. The rest of his story is virtually unknown.

How I met you and recruited you:

Brent was on the gallows when he first met Captain Nick Veal. Ready to be hanged, the Captain who had just began gathering his crew offered a massive payout for Brent out of the generosity of his heart. For this, Brent decided to dedicate his life to the man. Given that he was a Captain of his own ship, it made life relatively easy for Brent because the man had all ready been accustomed to living life on a ship.

Personality: She refuses to take being a woman as a weakness. She's willing to do anything that she's needed to, or wanted to. She's flirtatious and deadly at the same time. Mae can be fiery if you cross her, in other words, if she's angry, back off. Her past has made her cold and hard on the inside at times. She hated her family, so she ran away multiple times, until, finally, she escaped for good.


Biography: A little bit of it is in the Personality section, but, when she was younger, her parents were wealthy and well liked, until they were robbed by pirates. Her father got drunk and angry all the time, blaming Mae for the attack and forcing her to work in a brothel in order to pay off what they lost. In a drunken rage, her father killed her mother, causing Mae to run from the brothel at last.


How I met you: In the brothel, and when she was robbed of her money.

Personality: Fiery, short-tempered, and independent. She doesn't take shit from anyone and is quick to put someone in their place and they overstep the lines with her. Sometimes coy and enjoys a good laugh now and the.


Biography: Her family were farmers, harmless and worked to survive. After a raid by thieves on her small village when she was 16, her parents and brother were killed, herself only saved because of her "exotic" appearance to the raiders, red hair something they'd never seen before. Thinking she was a harmless "farmer's daughter" they underestimated her. While they were sleeping she took a large log set by the fire for later use to bludgeon the leader to death, her work farming made her stronger than she appeared. She stole his weapons, killed the rest of his band of thieves, disguised herself as a man and made a living bringing in criminals, dead or alive, to earn a living. Once she earned a name for herself she didn't bother hiding her gender any longer, proud she was an exception to the rule. She taught herself everything she knows with a weapon, mostly sticking to herself so working with a crew is going to be something relatively new to her.


How I met you and recruited you: At a tavern. Though what made her stand out was when she sliced a man's hand off and shot him square in the face all within seconds of each other for being too touchy-feely and not taking "no" as an answer.

Personality: Brash, coquettish but laced with a silver tongue, there is some good deep within Vera. Well, underneath all the hate and murder she has done over the years. With her brazen attitude always getting her into a bit of trouble, she is always more calm on the sea since the vast body of water has been her tranquility ever since she first laid eyes on it.


Biography: Having to be sold into prostitution at a young age by her parents, Vera thought there was nothing more to life than selling her body to give various of men much needed pleasure. At seventeen, while preforming 'duties' with a traveling captain, she was tremendously intrigued and fascinated with pirates. She had always dreamed sailing on the ocean blue, smelling the salt in the water, going from coast to coast and thanks to the captain's tales of adventures; it was now set in stone that becoming a pirate was that she intended to be. That being said, Vera studied combat, became skilled with both cutlasses and a rifle on her own time alongside still performing her prostitution work until she was twenty-three. Finding that her skills were efficient enough, she left 'work' in hopes to find a suitable captain to take her under his wing.


How I met you and recruited you: Two years after her departure, you found her in a brawl with a handful of men who recognized her due to past encounters, per se, and wanted to see if they could reconnect for old times sake. Obviously, on a more aggressive manner. Due to her long practice hours with fighting, you was able to see her fighting prowess first hand - seeing her fend off five men with her trusty cutlass and rifle. With her emerging victorious, you were impressed, recruited her and she's been by your side for two years. If that doesn't cause you to recruit a woman, then I don't know what will. Good in bed? She's has expertise in that, too.

Personality: Jiang is an arrogant and willful character, his cleverness and perception comes neither short. While he is somewhat of a charismatic figure, he has been told to be selfish and self-centered, usually laughing in response. As an opportunist, he will use underhanded tactics or escape when the situation is too much for him to handle. Otherwise ambitious, he has a relax and calm demeanor when interacting with people.


Biography: Son to a wealthy shipwright, Jiang is what most will consider a child prodigy, already drawing blueprints and constructing naval warships when he was only 12 as per requested by the Emperor. His talents were shown early on when he skillfully displayed his affinity for construction and a keen eye for flaws and hindrances, effortlessly exceeding even someone of his father's skills. This transcendence and prosperous upbringing is what lead to his arrogant and willful personality, and what lead Jiang to find the life as simply a shipwright to be lackluster. He seeks to further exploit his talents to further his successes.

How I met you and recruited you: While searching for someone to repair his damaged ship, Captain Nick Veal caught the attention of Jiang. Although not much as solely him, but some of his prominent crew members. Piracy had always been high risk-high reward, and Jiang felt that this meeting was fate. He easily convinces Nick to let him on the ship as their shipwright.

Biography: Hotaru was poor for a while until her family became a middle class by selling goods across the country, etc. She was separated from her parents during an attack, and she lived alone off of her trickery, etc., to get food and survive. During these times, she trained herself just in case she got caught in trouble, making her powerful for her age. She also studied herbs and medicine since she was always on her own (she kept a journal and eventually memorized it). When she grew older, she wanted to join a crew, so she looked for one.


How I met you and recruited you: Hotaru displayed her usefulness to you once she heard about you and your ships, etc. Since no one else was applying for that position, why not hire her?

Raxton Kent, or as you might say, "Tall Tide", has a very distinctive personality in which many things differ, but also conjoin. He's outgoing and rowdy, and loves to crack jokes and jump around. He's extremely energetic as well, wanting to hop from one thing to the next. Believe it or not, Raxton is a polite and a well mannered gentleman, excusing the few incidents of pickpocketing and starting one or two fights. (Okay, maybe three.) He has much knowledge to share, but not in the way of book smarts or Arithmetic. In fact, in that area he's utterly hopeless. But in stories of the land, and legends of the sea, he knows exactly what he's talking about. He has a very deep understanding with animals surprisingly, and loves to nurture them and love them, something that is very difficult for him to do with humans. Yes, he has an inability to love, but all in time.

Raxton grew up like any standard child, with a family, a roof over his head, and food on the table every night. He lived a monotone sort of life, but he wasn't complaining. He was grateful, but empty. Throughout the years he realized that his parents were tired, and they couldn't care for him anymore. They didn't love him, but he didn't love them either. It was mutual in a way. Raxton silently slipped out of their lives, and didn't regret it in the end. For then, he met people he could love. A group of thieves, but behind that, just boys. He related to them and they banned together, forming their own family. They were the only people Raxton ever loved, but they had bad habits. And some incidents that they had done before were catching up to them. And finally, they were caught. All seven of those boys, not including Raxton, were sent straight to the gallows. And that was it. Not a single goodbye was ever spoken, and that was the first time Raxton had ever cried.

After his family was sent to the gallows, Raxton was on his own again, and back to pickpocketing. He did his usual "Bump, apologize, and come victorious with their wallet" scam, but not this time. Because this time, Raxton pick-pocketed from the wrong person-- Captain Nick Veal. After swiftly being caught, something so undeniably crazy happened-- Raxton was recruited to the ship. Unsure if it was out of respect, or out of wanting him to suffer for what he had done, Raxton was made a powder monkey, the very bottom of the food chain. The boy was grateful under his "Upset because I got caught" front. After all, Captain Nick did save him.

How I Met You And Recruited You: you met her ashore at a local bar, where she was flicking her dagger at a card in front of her. You sat down near a table, and she recogonized you as Captain Veal. Seeing her chance, she went over to you and persuaded you to let her join your crew. She told you that she had valuable knowledge of the sea and the coasts of every continent, and also said she'd be a general help with the ship.

Preferred weapon: a small but sturdy dagger and a pistol. Also very, very good with poisons of all types, from natural, bio-chemically produced ones to man-made ones.
