» wisdom — as the demigod child of athena, dylan is incredibly smart. she has a knowledge superior to any other, rivalling other children of athena as well, and she can put it to use in any kind of situation, meaning she always has a plan, and she always has a way out. she is also an incredibly skilled tactician due to this ability, so when it comes to battle strategy, she almost never fails.

» battle — since athena is the greek goddess of warfare, naturally, dylan excels out on the battle field. learning how to use weapons comes easily to her, and she's usually always one step ahead of her opponent, and able outsmart most people that are up against her. though she can wield any weapon, she has her preferences.

» craftsmanship — athena was skilled in the arts, and introduced concepts such as weaving and other crafts. because of this, dylan is naturally skilled with most crafts, even if she hasn't tried it before. it's just in her blood. this also makes her very resourceful, as she could create anything to help get out of a situation, despite having limited resources.

» memorization + persuasuion — as a combined ability, in tandem with her powers of divine wisdom from her mother, dylan can never forget whatever she hears, and she is very manipulative and eloquent, often able to manipulate mortals, monsters and even some gods.

[div class=tag]background[/div] for all of her life, it's only been dylan and her father. he never told her much about her mother — in fact, he never even spoke about her. all he would ever say was that she was the smartest woman he ever met. from that alone, dylan was dying to meet her, but her father would always say, 'not yet'. and so life continued. dylan's father traveled all around the world for his work, and dylan quite enjoyed traveling with him, learning about new places and things and different myths and legends. he taught her much about greek mythology and the gods and goddesses, and it geared her up for her twelfth birthday, when he finally revealed to her that she was a demigod.

the news didn't confuse dylan, like most people might have expected it to. no, rather than question it, she began to think about all the possibilities. there was still so much more to learn, and the very idea excited dylan to her core. her father dropped her off at the camp where she was to train, and she met her mother for the first time there. athena was everything that dylan thought she would be, and more.

she explained how she expected a lot out of dylan, as her only daughter. she had only two other sons, and they were kept in a different camp since there was a segregation. that alone caused an eyebrow to raise because dylan didn't understand why there was a need to keep camps separate, but she decided to go along with it.

however, after years of staying there at that camp for girls, she realised that they hardly took their battle training seriously. dylan was the daughter of the goddess of war, which meant that she took battle and strategy seriously, and it was unfair to force girls to have improper training while all the good teaching was given to the boys.

despising the system, and wanting to prove people wrong, dylan came up with a plan. her mother, though otherwise very keen on rules, was in favour of the plan since she too believed that the customs needed to change. dylan got the help of a centaur to guide her to the camp for boys, and she was able to sneak in with a simple enough disguise — just a wig was needed, since her skinny physique and shorts and t shirt fit in perfectly with the male crowd.

now she's just hoping she won't get found out because that would ruin this whole deal. [/div] [/div]
