Fantasy Oblivion: Gone but not forgotten

Carlylse gave Nora an annoyed, but humored look. "You found a sense of humor! And here I thought you were as cold as a rock." He strode close to her. "But you know, if I do turn into a girl . . ."

Carlysle placed his face a few inches near Nora's. "I'd prefer you, boxing captain, since you're so manly." he whispered, smiling and giving her a smug look as though he knew she was going to back away from him.

(OOC: After whatever happens-I think Carysle will get a punch to the face- he'll drive Nora and Enoch to wherever they want to go, so feel free to time skip)

"We'll grab one next time we're waiting for the other's to catch up. And of course I d-..." As she turns around, Carl goes right up to her face - to which she is initially embarrassed - but her expression quickly turns from the light flush to a cocktail of annoyance and, of course, further embarrassment. Instead of a typical fist to the face, Nora simply turned her back to Carl, scoffed, and crossed her arms under her chest defiantly.

Carlysle raised an eyebrow in surprise and smiled, amused. 'So Nora is a girl.' he thought, amazed. He thought she didn't like guys and had a thing for Alexis.

After Carlysle had dropped everyone off, he arrived back in his family's estate well after dinner-time.

"Your father is not happy, Master Lysle." said Charles, the butler, after Carlysle parked the car in the garage and stepped out.

"Don't care." said Carlysle, tossing Charles the car key.

His father's garage was neatly packed with gleaming expensive cars. Against the walls were mechanic tools, lots of bottles of polish, and hanging picture frames of even more cars.

Carlylse entered the main house through the back kitchen door, Charles following behind him.

"Your father is waiting for you in his study." said Charles.

"Mmm." said Carlylse distractedly grabbing some soda, chicken and bread from the fridge. Balancing a plate of cheese on his head, he made his way up to his room, but before he could ascend the handsome marble staircase to the second floor, a stern voice called him from an open chamber at the side of the main hall. "CARLYSLE."

Frowning, Carlylse stepped into his father's study. "What?" he said in a rather rude tone.

Carlylse's father was a big man with black hair combed neatly back, a hawk-like nose, and green eyes just like his son, except those eyes were steely instead of bright. "Where have you been these last two days?" he showed Carlylse a letter. "The school said you were absent."

"I was practicing making portals in a construction site." said Carlysle blandly.

"I'm serious." said his father in a voice of quiet anger.

"I was playing PS4 games in a friend's house." lied Carlysle easily as though he'd done this hundreds of times. "There's an online tournament coming up and you locked up all my consoles . . ."

His father sighed looking agitated, yet trying to be patient at the same time. "Son, just because we're rich doesn't mean you can forget about your grades."

"You don't need grades to survive in this age, dad, just knowing your way around the world is enough." without waiting for an answer he turned back and went upstairs.

"Carlysle." called his father. "Carlysle, I am not done speaking to you!"

But Carlysle wasn't listening. He went upstairs to his room and locked the door.

His father stared after him. Charles came inside the chamber carrying the evening tea. "At least it lasted ten seconds longer than your last conversation, sir." he said.

"What am I going to do with him, Charles?"

TIME SKIP!

Enoch strides through the door with some groceries. As he sees his mother passed out on the couch, drunk, he preheats the oven. After making some lasagna for the three, Enoch calls his sister out from her room. They eat in silence. After the dinner, his sister leaves to play with her doll, and Enoch opens the refrigerator door and pulls out a beer. He opens it and sits down in his room to draw. He takes a long drink and starts drawing knights, dragons, castles, spaceships, whatever crosses his mind. After finishing his beer and his drawings, he hangs up his drawings, then goes back to the kitchen and takes another beer. Enoch pauses 'Oh my god. What am I doing?' Enoch shakes the thought away. 'It's only two beers tonight.' Walking back to his room, he says goodnight to his mother, though she probably doesn't hear him. He pulls open his computer and totally doesn't start looking at porn. He remembers what it was like before his father disappeared, but remembers that thinking about your missing father really isn't appropriate while he's busy. Enoch hopes his sister is asleep. After doing his thing, Enoch passes out from the alcohol, luckily after he put his pants back on.

After being dropped off, Nora proceeded to look up the gate to her house. However, instead of heading directly in, she started walking down the road. Eventually, she'd arrive at a large garage set a bit further into town - though still on the outskirts. It was only a ten minute walk. She'd enter said garage, littered with mats, boxing bags, arenas, weights ... the familiar grunt escaping the far left corner where her uncle was practicing. "You're late, Nora. Not been showing up for practice much the past few ... somethings?" He mutters, focusing on beating up a weighted bag whilst talking. "I've been busy. Lot of things going on." Her uncle didn't question it. A few moments of silence went by, the rhythmic grunting of her uncle filling it. "Uncle -... do you think I lack femininity?" The grunts stop. Peering from behind the boxing bag, the older man sternly, yet confidently says: "Absolutely." Nora's face turns sour. "But, one should always know -..." Uncle strikes a confident pose. "Sometimes, it is not about 'being', but what you can do about it and m-..." Looking over his shoulder, he notices that his niece has already taken off. "Ah! Wait! I was doing a speech! Noooooraaaaaaaaaa!" By this time, she had already made her way home. She laid down in her bed, a inquisitive expression on her face. Shrugging it off, she goes to bed.

-:Time Skip:-

A month and a half passed and the weather grew steadily colder and wetter, the nights darker as August came, but no amount of mud, wind, or rain could stop Carlysle from coming to the warehouse to practice magic.

The first quarter final exams were over and Carlysle's grades had suffered. From being above average, his grades had dropped to barely passing, which bothered him only because his father got angry.

"I passed, didn't I?" said Carlysle hotly when his father confronted him. His mother had come home from her month long vacation in Africa and the family had a loud argument about it over dinner.

"You did it on purpose!" said his mother, a tall red-haired woman who would have looked beautiful if not for the fact that she constantly wore an expression as though something nasty was under her nose. "C's, all of them!"

Charles, the butler, silently served pudding for desert then escaped to the kitchens before the conversation got worse.

"My Computer Studies is an A+." pointed Carlysle, annoyed that they ignored that.

"Carlysle, you always get an A+ in Computer Studies." said his mom tiredly. In the end the conversation ended badly again and another moody silence settled over their family.

Apart from this, there had been strange disappearances and mysterious killings in the news lately. Murders of the homeless and the drunk late at night, and the police baffled because the killers didn't leave a single trace as though ghosts had done it.

Carlylse strode out of the Amnesty International branch in his city one night after he clocked out of his part time-job in the African Research Department. Pulling his hood over his head, he jogged out under the pouring rain to the dark empty alley where he had parked his bicycle.

He was unlocking the bicycle chain when he straightened up suddenly, looking around him. A funny prickling on the back of his neck had made Carlysle feel he was being watched, but the dirty alley appeared to be deserted.

His phone suddenly gave a warning beep, causing him to jump. One of his personally-made app was telling him that one of his signal scattering devices up in a radio tower was damaged. Carlysle used these devices to escape security programs that try to trace him back to his location when he's hacking. He'd have to repair it now.

Carlylse sighed, and in this weather too. Minutes later he was completely drenched in rain as he sneaked his way up the radio tower through a portal. The last month and a half of practice had improved his portal making abilities. His range had increased to fifty meters, he can make a hole wide enough for three people to fit in, and can keep it open for twenty seconds now. He was still missing his intended center point for the portal, but it was now just two feet or less instead of the old six feet or more.

The wind was howling and the rain fell harder than ever when he reached the top, a dizzying fifty storeys high. Unscrewing the power box and with a flashlight between his teeth, Carlysle began fixing his device under the heavy rain.

He was screwing the lid back on again, when he immediately stood up and looked around him. He had sensed rather than heard it. Someone or something was climbing up the dark struts of the tower. Carlysle squinted down at the darkness. Was it human?

A flash of lightning illuminated the surroundings and Carlysle saw, quite distinctly, the hulking outline of something very big, shadowy, with wide, gleaming hungry eyes, climbing up to where he was standing paralyzed.

Carlysle's stumbled back then slipped, grabbing the railing to catch his fall.

An overwhelming stench filled his nose as the shadow monstrosity rose. Its black head ripped into a cheshire grin. "Love me . . . " it whispered in the thundering rain.

Carlysle jumped off the railing.

For one heart-stopping moment, a thrill of horror surged through his soul as he fell down in a haze of rain.

WHAM

A jarring blow to his back sent him smashing elbow first to a tower strut and Carlysle felt his arm break. A clattering sound below him made him look down and see his iphone falling to the ground. Dimly, dazed by the searing pain in his arm, he kicked off the structure-the monster leapt down, shadow claws outstretched-Carlysle dived for his falling phone, one thought lodged in his numb brain: call Nora.

He made a wild snatch for it; he felt his fingers glance the edge of his phone, but another vicious swipe from the monster hurled him away, and as he flew wildly through the air, he saw his phone hit the ground and shatter.

Carlylse opened a portal and he fell into it before he could crash into the concrete. A sudden flash of light blinded him accompanied by the sound of a blaring car horn-he rolled out of the way in time as two pairs of tires rolled pass right where he had been lying a split-second ago.

Carlylse stood up, he was in the middle of a street. Drivers skidded to a halt and honked at him as he briskly made his way to the sidewalk, trying hard not to pass out. People were pointing and staring at him.

He grabbed the phone of some random dude who yelled then gave chase, but Carlylse had already turned inside an alleyway and vanished into a portal, reappearing on a roof-top.

"Nora," he croaked into the phone, as though he had forgotten how to use his voice, "it's Carlylse-I've just been attacked-" his voice was shaking, "I-I'm near the north radio tower in San Sebastian street-help."

Over the month and a half, Enoch has started drinking more and getting less sleep. However, out of his house, Enoch always has a smile on. He has been hearing about murders of homeless and drunk, so he always kept a knife on him, along with a wrench. He sometimes spots moving shadows with eyes but believes it to be his slight mental deterioration. Walking down the rainy street, he sees more shadow people. "What in the hell?" They aren't moving, staring at him with unblinking eyes. This is odd. When he stares at them, they normally scatter like dust to the wind. Right now, they're like rocks in the wind. By that, Enoch means not moving. He blinks, and they're gone. 'That was odd, to say in the least.'

Wearing jeans, a large coat, sunglasses and a baseball cap - Nora had attempted to seem as inconspicuous as possible. Or rather, she didn't want anyone to recognize her. At the local supermarket, open 24/7, she gingerly reached for a 'fashion magazine' that she had overheard members from the Drama Club talk about. And since they usually were well dressed and acting -... perhaps it she could get some tips. The front-page was riddled with big letters such as 'How to dress for a date!' and '10 Signs that you need a diet' - The typical. But for Nora this was a whole new world. Using all her willpower and determination, she embarrassingly opened the magazine and took a look inside. Shortly after, her phone buzzed - causing her to yelp and drop the magazine, before patting herself down in panic. Eventually she flipped it open, muttering in a muffled voice: "What? Who is thi-..." Registering the voice and the panic in it, she simply sprinted out of the supermarket. "I'll be right there - I'm closeby." She'd hang up and call Alexis - which - if she picked up or when she did, she'd clearly say whilst running through the rain: "Alexis. Take Enoch with you for protection and search for me and Carlylse at the North Radio Tower on San Sebastian street. He's been attacked. Considering his portal capabilities I doubt it is a normal mugging."Nora was ready for a whole gang. Her eyebrows narrowed and she bit her lower lip.

Eventually she'd be around the area, right underneath Carlylse - who was up on a roof top whilst she was down on the streets. Re-dialing the same number, she hoped he'd pick up. If he did, she'd point out that she was there. Looking around, her gut wretched in a particular direction - almost as if though through instinct - and then she spotted ... the thing. A few roof tops away. Simply staring, she was in shock.

"Look up." said Carlysle hoarsely through the phone.

Carlysle's tired but relieved face peered down at Nora from the flat roof of a Chinese restaurant. He waved at her weakly and pointed to the west corner of the restaurant. "Twenty meters ahead is an empty alley with two red trash cans . . . go inside, there'll be a portal there."

There was only one word to describe Carlysle's look: Hospital. He was leaning heavily against the edge of the roof in the rain, his white hair dirty and matted with blood that mingled with the rain as it trickled down the side of his bruised face. The back of his clothes was torn to reveal peeled skin around a terrible bleeding gash. His left arm hung limply at his side in an awkward angle.

Carlylse grabbed Nora's arm for support the moment she came up, he looked shaken despite his stoic expression. "It's from our past-"he said breathlessly, "-it's a nightmare, it's-MOVE!"

Carlysle fell back as the bricks and concrete before them exploded into their faces when the shadow monster landed on the roof with the impact of a cannon shot. "Nora!"

It only took moments before Nora was up on the roof in her suspicious attire, eyes in shock at the state of Carlylse. She'd allow him to use her as support. "Slow down Carlylse, you're probably in shock - I've also s-..." But before she could finish attempting to calm him down, a practical explosion happened right by her. In the debris kicked up, a single large brick hit Nora in the back. Wincing and clenching her teeth, she looks at the creature. "Why won't you love me?" The grinning shadow-beast repeated, the wide grin never ceasing. Nora raised her fists, but felt somewhat powerless. It was more than two meters tall and incredibly wide, with razor-like, shadowy claws - looking like solid smoke that swayed in a monstrous form ... "What the-..." The creature swings horizontally at Nora, who ducks underneath it, her cap ripped off the top of her head. Close. "Carlylse, I'll try to keep it busy - you need t...-" The Nightmare punches towards Nora, who dodges to the side - the Nightmare's fist hitting the roof floor and cracking it. How am I supposed to even ... After the dodge, she lands a heavy punch square in the creatures malformed jaw with a light 'thud'. The Nightmare simply grins wider. No effect. Leaping backwards, she makes eye contact with the Nightmare. A flashback. She could feel it coming ... as such - she stood still, her and the Nightmare staring at one another.

Carlysle didn't need telling twice. Dialing Enoch's number, he portal jumped to the top of an adjacent building that was under construction and quickly hid behind a metal beam and watched the fight from there.

"Enoch," gasped Carlysle into the phone. "-monster attack-Chin Loong restaurant roof in San Sebastian street- come now-Nora in trouble . . ."

Carlysle slumped down against the beam, trying to stay awake. After calling Alexis and an ambulance, he watched the fight intensely through the curtain of rain ready to make a portal for Nora if need be.

Below the chinese restaurant, people had cried in alarm and faces were peering out of lit windows into the gloom trying to see what was going on.

Enoch runs towards the restaurant after getting Carl's call, and sees Carl and Nora, with Carl behind a metal pole, and Nora about to be attacked. 'Why is she standing still?' Enoch thinks, but climbs up a conveniently placed ladder. He pulls out his knife and his wrench and runs toward the demon monster thingy, and swings his wrench down on the demon's head. It hits with a ugly crack, but the monster is still not dead. "FUCK YOU!" Enoch screams at the monster, and jabs at the monster with his knife.

@Zer0 @ShyEra

-Nora Shimuya-

The Nightmare and Nora snapped out of the trance as Enoch made his entrance - the creature letting out a low howl as a result of Enoch's attacks - black liquid flowing from its stab wound. Said Nightmare then proceeds to attempt to claw back at Enoch in retaliation. Meanwhile, Nora is still somewhat stationary -...

"Now now ..." Aisha mutters to the recruit who can barely hold his spear straight. "Look - this is how you do it, alright?" In third person, Nora watches her former self drill recruits to pledge themselves to the Queen. A new sense of ferocity overwhelms her.

Snapping out of her trance, Nora gets back to action. If only she had a metal pole or pipe or something, this could be a whole lot easier. But for now -... leaping towards the Nightmare as it was fighting with Enoch, Nora grabs the monster by the leg before, with an insane display of strength, pulls it - causing it to fall. She then proceeds to swing it around in circles before throwing it off the building into the alley below - the Nightmare howling as it falls. "That won't be enough - we need to go after it. Is Carl alright? Did he port away?" Nora takes heavy breaths, mentally exhausted from the flashback. "I am assuming that ... contact with these things is speeding up the process." The one where we reconnect with our former selves.

"Yeah, he's, ... behind that ... building, metal pole." After catching his breath, Enoch replies. "By the way, you are really strong to do that! That was amazing!" Enoch feels embarrassed, and goes "Due to the fact that I have two weapons, I guess you can choose one." Enoch glances over where Carl should be. "We should bring him to the hospital. I have something that can clean his wounds, however." He pulls out a hip flask from his coat, then rips off some material from his white t-shirt, and pours some liquor on the strip.

(@Masked Imperial @ShyEra @Zer0 YOU GUYS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO THROW ME INTO A PIT OF FIRE I AM SO SO SORRY FOR GOING MIA!!!!!! Here i dropped a plot bomb, oh and i decided to skip to the next term so we can restart the RP)

How long has it been since Alexis last meet people who can she truly call friends? Not because they are from the same school and are about the same age, but because something more than that. They are bounded by fate, kind of. All four of them are reborn from a different world. They were master and servants, queen and knights. Though they are nothing more than a regular citizen and a normal student, now they know that they are still special. They are still capable of using magic, supernatural power that did not exist in 'this world', they are slowly but surely becoming as strong as their previous self, their memory and ability returning and merging into 'this' new body.

Tomorrow is the start of the new term, Alexis will be able to meet and talk with her friends again. She heard that Nightmare, the demons from the old world, suddenly appeared and attack them. She wasn't there with everyone else at that time, since she got to tend her siblings.

Oh, well. Alexis changed into her nightwear and throw herself to her bed, closing her eyes and started dreaming. Remembering.

It's more vivid than ever, she standing amidst the battlefield. It's the marketplace, the one she saw on her first vision. A bunch of dark creatures dropped dead in the ground. Ones that are as small as a dog and one that as big as a bear. A shield strapped on her left arm and a sword on her right hand. It feels heavy, but just right. She turned around and saw a shield made of bright yellow light. A defensive barrier, Skyne's, hers.

Then, she sensed something coming closer. Skyne knew what that is, she met it already before. Fear. She met it before when they ambushed the convoy, assassinating the last Queen as easy as stealing a candy from a child. And now they are breaking through Oblivion, killing everyone and burning everything like stomping on ants.

The Fear that she encountered years ago grinned at her. It's wearing a black armor, carrying a pair of sharp blades red with blood. It was as if Skyne is standing in front of a mirror, staring at her evil twin. You see, Fear is something special. They are Nightmares, but at the same time they are... something more. They are the copy of the knights of Oblivion, their doppelganger. Skyne's doppelganger looked just like her, except the fact that she wears different set of armor, using a different weapon, had two scars instead of one, and looked really intimidating.

Skyne's- her breathing become erratic. She's... scared? Oh no, the Fear sensed it. She smiled at them, and talked. Her mouth is moving, opening and closing, but Alexis couldn't hear what she said. Maybe she doesn't remember about that yet, or maybe Skyne doesn't want her to know. But she lunged forward, throwing her body and going for a drop kick. Skyne lifted her shield and pushed back. And then they fought.

It's like watching a dance, like the ones that usually appear in a TV talent show. The Fear, clearly faster than Skyne, jumps around and moves swiftly, slashing her blade toward vital spots and the small gap between her set of armor. What's even more amazing is how Skyne managed to keep up with all the movement. The Fear throw another slash at them, and a blade made of pure darkness appeared. Skyne managed to block it, but at the cost of her shield. It shattered to pieces. The Fear laughs, and Skyne said something. Then the fight again. Without her shield and her magic, Skyne couldn't really do much. The Fear managed to land a few cuts. To her legs, to her hands, to her backs. The exchanged heavy blows, until Skyne's sword broke into two.

This one, Alexis perfectly remember.

The Fear stabbed her blade through her chest. The pain, oh god, she could feel it. Alexis got pinned to the ground, and gasped for air when the Fear pulled out her blade and pushed it down again. Skyne tried to catch the blade, but it easily cut through the palm of her hand and again stabbed pierced her chest. Skyne is slowly getting weaker, but she has yet to give up. She tried to cast magic, but nothing comes out. From the corner of her eyes, she could see the dome behind her disappearing. No good, not good at all.

The Fear laughs, Skyne stayed silent. She no longer have the talk back, or even to fight back. She couldn't think straight and having a hard time breathing. The Fear raises both her blade and drive it into her chest, pushes it down until the tip of the blade touches the ground. The Fear bend down and whispered right in front her face.

"Now we will become one."

---

Alexis jolted awake, drenched in sweat. She remembers. About everything. She have to tell everyone else.

Carlylse clapped his hands together and bowed. "Please let me camp out in your backyard, Nora!" he asked the boxing captain one lunch time in school. "If another nightmare shows up I won't be able to protect my family, so I can't stay in my house."

He had finally been discharged from the hospital after a month. His mother went hysterical at the sight of him and his father went as white as Carlysle's hair. The yelling and scolding he endured lasted for a full week. He had lied-sort of, telling his parents that he fell while he was fixing one of his hacking equipment on the top of the radio tower during the rain.

"Y-you're hacking high-security businesses?!" screeched his mother.

"Shhh!" said Carlylse, glancing worriedly at nurse who had just entered carrying a tray of medicine.

"Don't you 'shhh' me!" said Mrs. Sandell angrily. She rounded on her husband who was sitting on a bench looking very tired. "Did you know our son is a criminal?!"

The nurse carried on as if she couldn't hear them and gave Carlylse his daily shot and began checking if everything was in order with the dextrose.

"I'm not a criminal, mum!" said Carlylse loudly, "And don't yell, no one's supposed to know I'm a hacker!"

He didn't tell them about the monster, not even his closest friends who brought him his assignments, gave him copies of their notes, and congratulated him for his awesome scar.

"It really looks like you got slashed by a monster." whistled his friend looking impressed as he examined Carlyle's back.

"Haha, yeah, it was a really cool coincidence!" lied Carlysle cheerfully.

Nora and Enoch had defeated the nightmare, but he was worried that another one might pop up and finish him off, but none came. Forget using his powers to find the truth about the political world and pulling pranks, there was something going on that included him that was getting worse, but he didn't know what it was about . . .

He needed to discuss this with Alexis, Nora, and Enoch, but first he had to make sure his family was safe, and to do that he had to leave the house.

With an iced coffee can in one hand, Nora shot Carlylse a puzzled glance. "Eh?" He had approached her during lunch break, at which time she had just went outside of her classroom to the hall vending machine located by a set of stairs. "C-camp?" A light grimace spread across her face, but she then proceeded to reluctantly agree: "Yeah ... sure I guess. Though you don't have to sleep in the back-yard. We have a small guest room with a bunk-bed." A hand went to consciously adjust a small blue-flowered hair-clip. Whilst somewhat unlike her, she had spotted it in one of those girly magazines she was looking into. "That thing really caught me by surprise." She murmured under her breath. It was still quite fresh in her memory, though she had attempted to spend as little time as possible thinking about it. "Have you seen Enoch or Alexis yet?" As it was the start of a new term, it had been a while since their last encounter. "And how did your parents take your ... erm ... hospital admission? G-glad to see you're feeling better by the way." After the comment, she'd take a sip of the bronze-tinted can.

@Zer0

"No, haven't seen Alexis nor Enoch yet." said Carlysle, shaking his head. His face bore a few fading scars from the aftermath of the attack and his left arm was in a heavily vandalized cast slung across his shoulders. Numerous get well messages and some profane symbols from his friends were scribbled all over the surface, including a well drawn troll meme.

"As for my parents, hmmm . . ." said Carlylse thoughtfully, leaning against the wall. He glanced outside the windows and into the hot golden afternoon where some guys were playing soccer in the field.

"Mum was like an angry shrilly saber-toothed tiger," said Carlysle, laughing, "She was two times scarier than the nightmare. Dad on the other hand was like an ice berg. He didn't say much, surprisingly, but he's taking stress pills now."

Though Carlylse was being jokey and off-hand about the whole thing, his smiles didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Anyway, thank you for saying yes." said Carlysle, relieved. "Will you allow me to move in this weekend?"

"O-...oi'." She mutters - though she was attempting to cut the habit of exclaiming in such a manner. "Is-...isn't this moving a bit too fast?" Averting her gaze for a few seconds, she mutters once more: "S-sure. I guess." A short moment passed, before she added: "Sorry you got on bad terms with your parents because of the incident." It seemed Nora took notice to Carlylse's slightly dejected state. "We should take a quick look for the two - we have a lunch break after all." Nora hoped that perhaps Carlylse would maybe cheer up a bit if he spent some time with the lot. However, she felt somewhat guilty for ditching her usual group of friends - but she highly prioritized this. "If you're alright with that?"

"Ya." said Carlysle simply, setting off with her.

"You are so polite today." he added curiously, eyeing the blue flowered hair clip on Nora's hair. "I'm unused to it . . . " He gave her a look as though he was trying to figure her out. The resurfacing of their memories from their past lives had changed the two ladies a lot. Alexis was becoming more outgoing, and Nora was turning into Alexis (demure and feminine). He sort of missed the old tomboyish Nora, since it was like hanging out comfortably with a guy.

After Carlysle retrieved his home-made lunch from his classroom, they passed through the busy hallways full of chatting and idling students, some strolling by carrying bread from the cafeteria, some bringing home-made lunch boxes to eat somewhere outside together with their friends.

Carlysle had his phone out-it was a new grey one, and was slowly sending Alexis and Enoch an e-mail with his right hand, 'Alexis, and Enoch, valiant knights, where art' thou' and doth' thou' wanteth' to luncheon together on the roof?'-he clicked send, smiling a bit.

"Ah, I wanted to ask you, Nora." he turned to her, "why were you dressed like a detective baseball player the night of the attack?"

She's been out of herself since this morning, after last night's horrible dream that she wished is nothing more than a nightmare. She have to tell her friends, just in case... Just in case... Reading Carl's email make her feel better already. So she took out her lunchbox and headed toward the lunch and found them arriving first. She smiled at them, and greeted with a "There's something important"

"Fire away." said Carlysle, settling down in the cool shadow of the roof's stair-way shelter.

He undid the sling across his shoulders and rested his cast left arm on his thighs. Carlylse fed himself a bit clumsily with his right hand as he listened to Alexis.

"Eh?" She grumbles somewhat threateningly towards Carlylse. "What do you mean 'unusually'?" At his comment, she'd give off a slight, annoyed scoff. At the mention of her 'detective-esque' escapades that eventful night -... she simply averts her gaze, walking along with her classmate. "I was ...- just checking up on some things in a nearby store. W-was cold. Hence the ... get up." Clearing her throat, she felt much relief when Alexis turned to them only moments later. "What Carlylse said." She'd mutter, giving a nod towards him as she agreed with his statement to 'shoot'. Whilst awaiting an answer, she positioned herself in the sun - leaning against the stair-way shelters entrance wall.

"Listen, i... I remember about something horrible." Alexis started. There's no going back, something inside her whispered. After they find out about this, they will probably kick her out. No, she will be the one to do that. She is dangerous now. She took a deep breath, and decided to get straight to the point. "I saw Fear. In case you guys haven't remembered yet, these things are... Nightmare, but at the same time they are not. They are specifically made to throw us off, to... to corrupt us. Using the this world term, you can call them our doppelganger. They invaded the castle that day, killing our friends and consuming their soul to become the "Original", if you get what i mean?"

"I... I've been hiding the fact that i remember that i am killed by something. I got the vision from day one." Alexis bit her lips. "Last night, i saw Skyne's last moments. She is killed by her Fear counterpart. She... She fought so hard, but she's exhausted and without her magic she just... Too weak to fight back." She started crying, she remembered how hopeless Skyne feels when she fought her Fear. "She died! Fear took her soul! I don't know who's inside me now! Is it Skyne? Is it the Fear? Or is it still me, Alexis?"
