I am an Eternal Spring flowing under dirt.
"Do you think that you'll meet God once you're dead?"
2013
Tokyo-3
Japan
Thirteen whole years have passed since Second Impact. The world is past the point of mourning now, seeing as picking up after what happened is nearly over. Despite such an extended period of time having passed, most of the events leading up to, and after Second Impact is kept in the shadows. Merely denounced as an un-preventable natural disaster in the form a meteorite, it seemed the world wanted to forget about the event entirely. But to say that the people of Earth were content or truly believed in these explanations would be a lie. In actuality, the explosion was the result of an experiment gone awry involving the Lance of Longinus and Adam, the creator of Angels. While the general populace is unaware of this, multiple shadow agencies are not only aware of this, but are completely responsible for the history-altering event.
The most prominent agency, being SEELE, seeks to enact the Revelation of Christ and end humanity as it is. To accomplish this, a proxy agency titled NERV was formed to urge the conditions of the Second Coming into place, defying what scripture has directly told humanity, that the time of Revelation is unknown to man, only to God. After these intentions became finalized in the official SEELE doctrine (Directly after Second Impact) multiple NERV branches began reporting energy anomalies worldwide. Fearing divine repercussions, SEELE authorized NERV to begin construction on countermeasures to prevent further disasters regarding angels. After putting actions on the back-burner for twelve years, two Evangelion Units were finished for the NERV branch in Tokyo-3. Albeit, the units did not come cheap, as two lives were taken with them shortly after their initial construction (2003, Early testing phases.). However, locating the last factor required to put the Evangelions into operation, the pilots, was an easy task; convincing them to join was an entirely different ordeal and put plans back even further.
Now, with the two young pilots of the proper age to pilot the Eva Units and the energy anomalies beginning to stir over Japan, only God knows the final outcome.
My name is Justin and I have been roleplaying for around four or five years by this point. I have a staunch love for realism and works of life-like detail. I would link my pastebin, but I find that my stories seem lacking and do not showcase my best writing. Realism does not have a large part to play in this plot, however. Lately I've been digging into NGE and my mind just exploded with this insatiable craving. I just HAD to see if anyone wanted to roleplay NGE, but it appears not a lot of people on this site are fans. So instead of going around and pestering random people and seeing if they'd like to do a plot, I'd much rather make this thread and save myself some trouble. If you couldn't guess, I tend to look into shows past the surface layer, really pulling into the meat and symbolism of it all. I can't think of much else to put here, but I'll probably talk more about myself later in OOC.
This tab is basically talking about what I feel we should both keep in mind when concerning the RP:
The Roleplay Itself:
1. This universe is DARK so if you're truly interested in helping this plot become a reality, be prepared for some deep shit.
2. Neon Genesis Evangelion is a very complex show with a LOT of symbolism and details that go unspoken, so I won't judge if there's stuff you missed (Hell, I'm still missing stuff from it!).
3. I'm wanting to touch upon philosophical/metaphysical topics throughout the roleplay. Again, expect a lot of deep stuff.
4. I'm not a big fan of roleplaying on this site. Mainly due to the mobile site/app being a mess in either regard. So, excluding Discord (Posting long replies is a pain, using it for OOC is fine), I'm down for whatever other App/Medium you're wanting to write on.
5. This RP will require BOTH OF US to double, seeing as characters are critical to the Evangelion series, this AU plot included.
6. The AU aspect (If you don't quite see everything that's different) is that SEELE has a different end goal than in the canon universe, the time frame in which it takes place is different, and the Eva Unit lore has changed. Otherwise everything should be the same.
7.I am only looking for one person to do this with. My life is pretty active and it takes priority over this site, so I'm not looking to play out the same story with a bunch of people. If this thread still has its title, it is open, if it says "closed" then it is as described.
My Neck Of The Woods:
1. I promise to try and keep immersion throughout the roleplay. (Ever play a roleplay set in a foreign area where everyone talks like Americans? Too many to count for me lol.)
2. I will give AT LEAST 2 posts a week. If circumstance bind me, you'll know, trust me.
3. Speaking of which... I'll make sure to give you bi-daily updates in the OOC in between general chat.
4. I COMMUNICATE! If I am having trouble IRL or in a roleplay, I will tell you. If it's just not shaping up, I will inform you. Do not take that as an immediate "Goodbye", consider it a "Let's take a step back and try again :^)" sort of deal.
5. I don't do mxm romance, call me biased but I just don't feel completely comfortable writing as that.
6. I try my best to clock around several paragraphs per post but if you don't mind me writing less that'd probably be best (Again, considering school is starting up and all).
7. If you seem interested, PM me directly, don't even bother replying below! (But I won't be mad if you do. :^)
Your Side Of The Deal: (as they call it)
1. At least 1-2 replies a week. I promise you, I'm patient.
2. Active in OOC. I don't care if it takes you 2 days to just respond with "Hey", it's the knowledge you're still involved that's important.
3. Your main character was supposed to be implied to be the second pilot, just reiterating here in case it didn't seem like it.
4. COMMUNICATION! If I'm throwing your groove, let me know, I'd be more than happy to find some compromise for the both of us to continue writing on.
5. You don't have to be a lore expert, but a basic knowledge of the show would be greatly appreciated. (As in, if you have no idea what I'm talking about, watch the show! I'm being serious, it's a great show.)
6. Give me some post material to work with. This one really goes without saying though. Character reflection is nice but just don't have like 4/5ths of the post merely thoughts with only a fifth being stuff I can actually react to.
... We'll do the rest later.
