Hey! Of course; there is a lore thread here that explains the dynamics of her family and the new family in town; the Liptons. We haven't started the roleplay yet, so you'll be as new as everyone else!
Also, as for the character, it's all entirely up to you how you would like to portray her. If you want to have a look at the other characters and maybe tie her in with them, you could, or just completely start from scratch.
