"Mommy, are they ready yet?" The intense scent of freshly baking blue berry muffins fill the kitchen and throughout the house, tickling my overly sensitive nose as I sit on my favorite wooden stool a little to close to the oven door, ebony tail swaying as I watch the little golding lumps of spongy cakes. Mom always made thee best muffins and always made them specially for me every Sunday morning since I was a little girl. "Not yet Lissy doll. Just a little longer." my ear twitched as her sweet voice traveled from the living room where she was reorganizing her book shelf. With a defeated sigh, I decided to end my torture and step outside for some fresh air.

Standing to stretch my all to relaxed limbs and silken ivory tail, I turn to look over my shoulder, letting a flirty smirk form on my lips as I briefly gaze at my hunky boyfriend laying lazily on my bed giving me an equally flirty grin. I never thought cuddling with him would end up being one of my favorite pass times. I made my way to my private little balcony and look over the scenery before me. I wasn't one for bright sunny day's, but I would be lieing if I said that the sight before me wasn't the perfect picture of peace. Clear sky, light breeze, lush green trees and flowers; even the city peaking from far off in the distance was captivating. I turn slightly back and catch (...) staring at me with a mixture of such intensity and peace in his eyes. This was the fourth time I caught him staring at me like that and it honestly made me feel a bit uncomfortable and...surprisingly nervous...but a part of me yearned for him to look at me that way and to never stop. "Why do you keep looking at me like that..?" he remained silent and simply stared for what seemed to be forever until finally he opened his mouth to speak.

I took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp clean summery air as I stretch my arms out towards the sky. As I went to take in another breath, I heard a loud explosion in the distance. Just as quickly as the noise faded, another louder explosion could be heard and the ground shook with its ferocity. "What in th-" soon, more explosions could be heard and then the sound of screeching, rumbling and even screaming filled the once quiet Sunday air. Everything started moving so fast after that. It was all a blur. I screamed when a large object crashed into the house next door and the wall separating our houses began to topple down as the earth began to tremble and shake beneath my feet. "Alissa!!" I could hear someone yelling my name. It was faint. It was on the other side of the house. It was "Alice!!" dashing towards the glass sliding door, I struggle to open it, tears threatening to spill down my cheeks "Alice! MOM!"

I turn back towards the balcony at the sound sudden sound of explosions. That perfect picture..the peace that I once beheld just seconds ago seemed to just be some fucked up mind trick. The simple cookie cutter houses surrounding us where now being smashed in, bursting into flames by strange, large black objects raining from the sky. The once green trees and bushes where being turned to dust. The once clear blue sky was being tainted by smoke as black as my heart. It bled well past my line of vision, blocking out the sun and filling the clean summery air with the smell of ash. "What the fu-...oh god.." suddenly a chill went down my spin and I could feel her fear and practically taste her tears "Alissa!!" I raced across my room and down the hall with (...) hot on my heels. "Alissa! Mom!" for the first time in my life...I was afraid. Not for me, but for "Alissaaa!"

P l o t

The world has ended..or..so it seemed. Outside of all of the madness, death and destruction the twins toss and turn safe and sound in there beds across from each other. However, inside of there purrty little head's there is chaos...

Everything was destroyed, which mean's those who where unlucky enough to survive will have to some how manage without the luxury's that they where so use to in their every day life. No electricity. No stove top cooked meal's. No hospitals. Nothing. Instead, they will have to live like their ancestors lived; by building fire's, washing up in stream's and lakes and hunting for there food(Like them, there are some animals that have survived.]. Unfortunately, living 'cave man' style is only the least of there worries. The mysterious creators who had attacked earth still linger not to far from its atmosphere and occasionally land on earth to hunt and capture the remaining survivor's. So in addition to ducking and dodging the mystery monsters that hover above them undetected, our hero's will have to recover, repopulate and restore the peaceful world they once knew.

-Alissa-

'It's dark...why can't I open my eye's? Oh god..m-my nose is on fire. My head...what's...where am I?' Alissa's body twitched as she tried to move her limbs but she could manage nothing more then a wince as her body began to slowly regain feeling. Her muscles ached and she could feel something liquid on her knees and arm's. She attempted to open her eyes but they felt like they where welded shut. She tried to speak but her throat was dry and scratchy and her lips felt cracked. 'Alice? Alice? Hey where are you!? whats going on? Can you hear me?' Alissa called to her sister telepathically but there was no answer. That's when she began to get worried. Why wasn't her sister answering her? She always answered when they spoke to each other this way. 'Wait..' tiny flashes of what happened filled her mind and the realization of what had transpired hit her like a ton of bricks. Her eyes began to water not only from the remembrance of what happened but the tears had caused her eyes to sting which only made matters worse. The fragile feline girl cried silently at the memory and the pain that began to pound into her as her body began to register what was going on. She was hurt. Badly. And the fact that she could not see her surroundings allowed her mind to wonder off with the possibility's of where she was and what kind of condition she was in. For all she knew, her legs could smashed in by a part of her house, everything could be in flames and her family could be dead. The thought only resulted in her crying harder and made her heart ache. 'Alice please! Answer me!Alice!!' she tried again. Still, she did not answer. After another few minutes of her silent weeping, determination kicked into her and Alissa began trying to move her body again. Her knees stung, her shoulders where stiff but she kept pushing. Soon enough she was on her side leaning weakly on her left arm and clasping onto her shoulder with her right hand. Her eyes where next. Though her salty tears made them burn like hell, they did help with allowing her to clear her vision a bit when she finally got them to flutter open. Barely. Everything was blurry, but it didn't stop her from being able to see the destruction around her. "O-oh.." was all she could manage to wheeze out as she clasped her hand around her mouth and tears pricked her eyes again causing her to squeeze them tightly shut. It was minutes before she scrambled up the courage to open her eyes again. This time, she scanned the area, taking in every demolished house, the sea of ash, the pitch black sky that would have made it impossible for her to see if it weren't for her enhanced feline senses and the still barely burning fires. The girls eyes continued to scan the area until something caught her eye. A hand with a dull silver ring on it's ring finger. A wedding ring, so familiar that Alissa had to do a double take before she finally recognized it. "Mo....m-mmmy...." the sight of her mother's unmoving hand was all it took to have Alissa moving, dragging her body towards the hand; her tears falling freely now down her ash dusted pale cheeks. She moved restlessly despite her aching muscles and bleeding knees, but she found that the closer she got to her mother the harder it was to move. The closer she got the more the realization hit her. As Alissa finally was within reach, she stretched her hand out towards her mothers ice cold one and began to wail brokenly...her mother was crushed to death.

-Alice-

'Alice? Alice? Hey where are you? Whats going on? Can you hear me?' one of Alice's ears twitched at the sound of her sister's voice but she did not move. It was obvious after a while that her voice was in her head and not outside. Her head was pounding as it was without the addition of her sisters whining. After a moment of trying to move her body she found that she could not. Nothing was cooperating with her which just irritated the hell out of her. The fuck was going on anyway? Why couldn't she move? Why was the air so thick and heavy with the scent of smoke and ash? What was this...thing on top of her? Alice's head began to spin as her mind raced and her senses where overwhelmed. "Al..lissa. (...)...m-mo.." she whispered before blacking out again.
