Alex is an overly polite, quiet young man who rarely raises his voice and actually has more of a problem speaking up to an audible tone. While not shy per say, he does seem to avoid people he doesn't know and tries to leave as little of an impression on people and his surroundings as possible. He's a bit of a neat freak and a mess is perhaps the only thing that can really irritate him without getting into the 'physical assault' territory. He's a bit humorless at times and it doesn't take much for him to get confused in a hectic situation.

Born to a Japanese American family, Alex always had a lot of expectations put on him by his father. Average grades were unacceptable in gradeschool and not being a part of extra circular activities was criminal. Now that's he's out on his own and trying to become an author, a profession that has made his father distance himself from him, he's been struggling. Only a handful of his stories even get looked at an even less actually get published. Living in an apartment by himself and being hit with heavy writer's block, Suteki Cafe is one of the few places he can sit down at relax.
