Realistic or Modern The Towering Inferno

KillGill

Snap out of it
Things at a Christmas party in a high rise building in Seattle go horribly awry when a helicopter accident causes a large fire trapping hundreds of people. Now its up to the fire fighters to fight the 120 story inferno. The poorly made building is destine to collapse in only a few hours, but will they be able to save everyone?

(Based on the movie The Towering Inferno)

So you can rather be a fire fighter or a person trapped in the building. .3.

Kudos for recognising the delight that is The Towering Inferno from 1974. There is potential in adapting it for a RPG.

I love the movie. As well as the remake

A convention game could work nicely. nWoD or FATE systems stand out as candidates. Do you have any in mind?

No not really. Im kind of blank atthe moment >.<

Having six or so survivors, with a range of backgrounds (like the movie or original) would perhaps be more interesting to play than fire-fighters in this circumstance. nWoD would allow for a diverse group of characters/skill sets. Initial premise could be an opening ceremony or other occasion, which is sabotaged, either by a NPC or PC. Loyalty or Trust could be thematically explored, with grievances being exposed; a stilted lover going back for a former partner or betrayed employee risking themselves for their colleague (and the flip side of these, giving 4 characters straight away).
