Background: Charlie was originally born under the name of Xiao Chen in Mainland China. A few years after he was born, his mother decided to move to Hong Kong to work, in there, little Chen was influenced early on by kung fu cinema and media that was popular at the time. Inheriting the rash behavior of his godly father, Chen was frequently involved in school and street brawls, forcing his mother to find him a proper martial arts Sifu of great renown, in the hopes that he would learn the discipline needed to control his temper.

Sadly for her, this only made him much more able to beat the snot of anyone who crossed his path. With a habit of mocking fellow martial artists that thought to much of themselves, he frequently challenged other students to ridicule and bring their egos down to the ground. Worried about the negative attention he started to draw to himself, he was sent to America to live with his uncle in New York and start a new life from scratch under a new name: Charlie.

Working any jobs he could find and trying his best to stay out of street brawls, Charlie found his way back into trouble when defending an person from being mugged on the street. Catching on the thieves and defeating them with a great display of Martial Art skills, Charlie had taken the first step to greatness. Unknown to him, the whole ordeal was recorded by a passerby and uploaded to the internet. Within minutes the video became a world wide phenomenon and Charlie's life changed upside down. First a movie producer got in touch with him and offered him a role as an extra on a big budget movie, his eyes on the prize of grooming the next great Asian Superstar, and if that wasn't enough, word reached the ears of the Great Monkey King, making him pay a visit to his promising new Scion.
