Personality:Jace is a brilliant doctor who sees helping people as the most noble of professions. But though he loves helping people he refuses to let himself get close to anyone. He is headstrong, and a bit full of himself. He refuses to trust anyone, believing the closer people get to him the easier it is for him to get hurt. He has a good heart and is the best friend that you could have. That being said he is the last person you want to date, he is selfish and a bit self-centered. Although a lot of this is a front, a major self-defense mechanism keeping his heart protected. Most Importantly Jace can be a bit intense he, lives his life to the fullest and doesnt believe in regrets. His assertive nature can be off-putting to some, while being rather endearing to others. Deep down he wants love, believing it is the medicine that his soul needs.

I N D E P T H
Before High School:Jace's parents were incredibly difficult on him they pushed him to excel but had no regard for how their interactions effected Jace. His father's constant infidelities and his mother's emotionally abusive behavior led him to believe this was how relationships should be. He was sexually active at a young age, and constantly trying to one-up his brother. His family suffered a tragedy which impacted them all when Jace's younger brother was killed in a hit and run accident. It led Jace's hospitalization, a 6-month stay in the town sanitarium.
What kind of childhood did your character have?
During High School:By high school, Jace was released to the public and in that time he reinvented himself. He let himself be more like his father and less like the emotional cripple he felt he had been. He bounced from girl to girl, never taking things as seriously as he should. Jace was intelligent but refused to live up to his potential a fact his father never let him forget. He barely scraped but managed to graduate high school.
What did your character do in high school?
After High School:After high school, Jace's mother died from leukemia, his father was unable to save her. This drove Jace to take his life seriously, he stuck around town for two years at community college. From there he excelled focusing on his studies and attending college on to med school. His drive to save people became everything to him. His attitude towards women did not change but he did manage to buckle down, becoming a surgeon. During that time he met a young boy whose young mom was in need of a heart transplant. He promised the little boy he would return his mom to him, but something went wrong and she died on the table. This deeply impacted Jace, driving him into a deep depression one that led to him trying to hang himself. He was discovered by a close friend who told him to see someone, Jace saw a therapist for awhile but found the one to one interaction was too much for him. He ended up going to a support group, a condition to continuing employment at the hospital. There he met a Drug addict named Sasha who introduced him to a new way of dealing with his stress, she got him hooked on opiates and coke. After a year as an addict Jace, has been told to him come home and run his father's practice as he is preparing to retire. Jace has recentlyc come home with a giant conveyor belt of baggage in tow.

Jace's head was on fire, and it was only matched by the burning he had in his stomach. He rested his head in the palm of his shackled hand, combatting the violent stir that worked its way around his belly. A broad-shouldered man with his Tom Sellick mustache glanced down at the open folder in front of him. His mug chilling with yesterday's coffee, and a cigarette that burned with a mountain of ash burning from its bud.
"So whats it this time kid?" He asked. Holding out a pack of Lucky strikes to him.
Jace took one pressing a cigarette between his lips before leaning into the zippo's open flame that was held in front of him. He sat back letting a trail of smoke escape from his lips, he closed his eyes and then half smiled at him. " I was just trying to get a pack of smokes" He said inhaling sharply. Sheriff Grant nodded "This has to stop, your girl is here for you" He said taking a drag of his own cigarette.
Jace looked over to the glass he could see her, all sense of sarcasm and defiance faded away. His stomach turned a bit more and shame washed over him like a shower.
