View attachment 63968 n the grim, dark future of the 41st millennium there is only war. Humanity is locked in a never-ending conflict with the alien, the mutant, and the heretic. Across the cosmos, the God-Emperor’s Angels of Death, the Space Marines, wage merciless war against these evil forces, aided by the ever-loyal Imperial Guard, but these hostile forces are numerous. As knowledge falls from memory and more and more blood is called to defend the Imperium there is one line of defense that must be ever vigilant, lest all of humanity be swept aside by the hostile tide. The Inquisition.

Standing at the very brink of chaos and destruction the members of the Inquisition root out the most corrupt and vile of the Imperium’s enemies. From corrupted Space Marines, to Deamons of the Gods of Chaos, no failing is beyond the grasp of the Imperial Inquisition.

With suck a task the Inquisition can only accept the strongest, and the smartest for their ranks, but as their need is so great, and their task so important, the Inquisition itself cannot afford to be picky. Criminals, and those less than reputable from across the cosmos are potential recruits, as long as they display themselves above the common man in their abilities. If the recruit manages to preform some feat, the tales of which manages to reach the Inquisition, hundreds of thousands of light years away, the true test begins. Each recruit is subject to training unlike any other. Many say that the rigors of the Inquisition drive most of their recruits mad, but the result cannot be questioned. Inquisitors are cold, calculating, efficient, and above all deadly.

You are one such Inquisitor. Having recently completed your sanctioned training you are still outranked by most within the Inquisition, but your aspirations are limitless, they would not have recruited you otherwise. The time has come for your first mission, and as you stare down at the data slate in your hands, waiting for the information to come through, you can only imagine what darkness you’ll be facing.

In the world of Warhammer 40k there is a near infinitesimal amount of possibilities for a character’s past and future. Feudal Worlds where the Imperium has not seen fit to introduce most modern technology, Feral World defines as planets whose population are composed of nomadic hunter-gathers, where the most hostile environments forge strong warriors and clever survivalists, massive Forge Worlds where the sound of endless production fill the air at all times, day and night, pumping out ammunition and technology for the Imperium, and Hive Worlds where cityscape blots out the sun and countless billions toil and labor in thankless obscurity. There are only some of the birthplaces a member of the Imperium could have originated, and each comes with its own unique set of possibilities and exposures.

One might be a member of the Imperial Guard, the faceless billions, so vast accurate numbers have stopped being kept. They do battle across the galaxy on billions of worlds, fighting every type of monster imaginable. They are the first line of defense, and often the last, when distress signals reach the Space Marines too late.

Or perhaps they are a member of the Cult of Mars, the machine cult responsible for maintaining and upkeep of war machines. These techpriests coax to life ancient machines of war, massive guns capable of destruction on a planetary wide scale. These shadowy, augmented individuals are often the most familiar with technology and treat these technologies with a religious-like reverence .

The possibilities are endless, and your path may be full of its own unique twists and turns.
