Not sure the best way to start this off, But here we go! --

Silence, Filled only by the noise of footsteps. A young woman being led back to her cell by a tall guard. She knew not to fight, This man was a vampire and she had seen them over power much stronger things then herself. It was something that would only lead to punishment. Though perhaps at first glance one might think the woman known as Garter was far more stronger. She was not a large woman. But her teeth were sharp. Her pupils slits much like a predator, Glowing a soft gold. Red scales were scattered across her. Mostly on her limbs, Shoulders and stomach. Perhaps clothing could have hidden such scales. But her clothing was cut in a way to reveal such. To flaunt what she was. It was something she hated. To be viewed like she was some sort of animal at a zoo.

But garter would not fight. She looked frightening. But that was simply her appearance. The nymph's only real ability of strength was to turn into a snake. Yet even that was a harmless creature. But that defense had been taken from her by the gold collar around her neck. Beautiful and covered in magical runes that prevented shapeshifting. Garter was aware of where they were going. Back to her cell. Today had not been a bad trip out. She had even gotten to move freely without her collar. The mistress wanting to show off her plaything to guests. But Garter much preferred such then the usual treatment. Normally it was horrible. She would never speak of what went on. Didn't want to. None of the other 'pets' would dare ask for they likely already knew. Already had suffered the same.

The mistress was the worst. Her husband was not kind either. Yet he seemed gentle compared to that woman. Then her children, The twins. She had not interacted with them much. But they always seemed to watch her... Hungrily. Especially the male. He just seemed like some sort of predator to her. Still, She was away from them. The cell wasn't nice and while it was pretty. It was still such a cold place. But it also ment she was safe from the lady of the house for the moment. That she would not be hurt further for the day.
Thus she was relieved when she finally reached it. The guard didn't touch her. Simply closed the cell door behind her as she walked in. Making sure it was properly locked before leaving Garter alone. Well, Not fully alone. The cell next to her housed another creature. A fairy, Caged much like her. It was a companionship that Garter needed many a day. A friend.

Still she was tired, Ready to curl up somewhere to sleep. Thus she only greeted her companion with a small hum. Beginning to walk towards the corner of her cell. Idly reaching up to scratch at the uncomfortable collar. But well, Such movement caused it to rather suddenly fall from her neck. Causing Garter to completely freeze up. Confusion filling her before she glanced down at her feet. There the gold collar laid. It seemed it had not been fastened correctly. Thus the slightest tug had removed it. It took Garter a few moments for this realization to hit her. Taking a few steps back in alarm. "Mari?" She squeaked out.

Mari had very little to do when left on her own, except dream of a better time and dread what was to come. The girl lay on the floor of her cage, careful not to get close to the bars, made of cold iron, which would burn her should she touch them. Of course that wasn’t the only restriction placed on her, she also had a collar much like Garter which prevented her from using any of her magic, including the ability to hide her wings. She could have passed for human if it weren’t for the colourful wings poking out her back; a glowing greeny blue, tipped in black and tapering off into flowing tails. She wore a dress with a low back so they were fully exposed and of course their owners, and their guests, loved to touch her wings. She hated people touching her wings, they were delicate and sensitive and having people touching them made her feel grimy.

She opened one dark eye as she heard Garter return but soon closed it again as she could tell Garter was tired. So, it was a little bit surprising when Garter then called for her. She frowned before opening her eyes and sitting up, dark brown hair cascading down her back, stopping just after it reached the base of her wings. It took a moment for Mari to fully understand the scene and when she did she jumped to her feet, getting as close to the bars as she dared. “This is your chance” she murmured quietly to her. “You can get out of here Garter” she insisted. “they just put you back, they shouldn’t return for a while, they won’t even know you’re gone until it’s too late” she insisted urgently. They might not be too pleased with Mari not trying to raise any sort of alarm but the fairy cared little for what their masters thought of them. “Go, quick” she insisted, she would miss her friend but she would not let her squander her chance of freedom.

If Garter waited around too long then the twins might come by, Eve was not as often seen amongst the caged, but the twins were a much more common sight. Garter did not want to be caught by them, Mari had seen them play before and it wasn’t a fun game, Johann seemed particularly fond of terrorising the others. Mari could only imagine the sick joy on his face once he found out that Garter needed punishing, no, she wouldn’t let her friend be subject to that, she had to go, now!

Garter stood there, Lingering in a state of almost shock until her friends voice snapped her out of it. Looking up at Mari. The other girl was right, She would never get another chance like this again. She could not afford to wait too long. Thus with a quick nod she was turning. Tensing for a moment before allowing her form to shift. It was unlikely that Mari had ever seen her snake form, Though Garter no doubt had told her plenty times about it. Shifting had always provided her a small form of safety. Small enough to hide easily. Though her captors loved to make her shift in front of others. Instead of being able to hide she was shown off. It was terrifying to her.

Much like her name sake, Garter's snake form very much resembled one of a garter snake. Scales a mixture of blue and red in a lovely pattern. But she was small. Easily capable of slipping threw most small gaps. It would be difficult for anyone to find her. Wasting little time. Garter between the bars. They posed no issue to her in her current form. But once out, She paused. Tongue flicking out as if to scent the air. Then she was shifting forms. She should run. Escape. That would be the smart choice. But that was not even a considered choice to her. She had to free her friend.

Keys, Normally the guards carried them on there person. But Garter knew they forgot occasionally to bring them. There were spares somewhere. She just needed to find them. So, She hurriedly began searching threw any sort of container she could find. She did find some items. Ones made for torture that she'd rather not think about. But one item she did decide to grasp and hold onto was a knife. Perhaps it wouldn't do much. But it made her feel a bit safer.
Time went by and Garter was just beginning to fear she was wrong. No spares existed. Yet finally she found what she was looking for. A key ring filled with multiple keys. One had to work. So she hurriedly grabbed it, Scurrying back towards her friends cage. Beginning to go threw them. It took her a few before she finally found one that fit and then, The door was opening. This was the first time Garter had ever been with Mari without bars between them. Sadly they could not spend time to celebrate. They needed to escape. "C'mon, We need to hurry." She didn't know how they would escape. But they had to hurry. Except, Garter was soon freezing as she heard the sound of footsteps. Garter doubt they guard would already be returning. Which ment it was likely one or both of the twins. Probable both as the two always seemed to be at each others sides.

Mari had never seen Garter’s snake form, a side of her friend that she’d never seen, whereas Mari was unable to hide her own fantastical side. So, when Garter shifted, it was a pleasant surprise to see her snake form, she’d had hints of what it might be like with scales but she was a beautiful creature. Mari didn't think for one second about asking Garter to free her, there was no time to waste, she didn’t want her friend getting caught for her sake. It seemed that Garter had other ideas though and was soon rummaging for keys and Mari wanted to tell her to go, to not bother, but she foolishly had hope in her heart.

And maybe she had been right to hope because Garter was opening her cage and Mari stepped out of it tentatively, not quite believing it as she stared at her fellow prisoner. But the moment was soon to be ruined as footsteps were approaching. Eyes wide in disbelief, soon turned to eyes wide in fear. Mari went to take the keys off of Garter, trying desperately to find the key to her collar, if she could just get it off then she could cast some sort of illusion which might distract the twins. Garter could at least turn into a snake, hide behind a cupboard or something, it was a lot harder to hide as a human sized creature with glowing wings. Maybe luck was on their side though because she managed to get her collar off and she pressed herself into a corner, trying to cast a glamour to make the corner look empty, unsure if it would work, she was a bit rusty and very stressed. Besides, they'd still notice the empty cages.

“we should be allowed to play a little bit more often” Johann was saying to Lucy as he entered the room, not quite complaining but well, in a house that had so many exotic creatures, Johann‘s eyes tended to wander. Maybe he took after his mother because he clearly found the chains amusing although could handle himself as well. He stopped though as he noticed the open cage and the empty once next to it. Well, their mother was not going to like that. Johann snarled at the sight and let his eyes scan the room for clues or the missing prisoners. At least maybe him and Lucy would get to play now.

Garter was panicked. Eyes scanning for a place to hide as Mari struggled with her collar. Sure, Garter herself could easily hide. But Mari was different. Especially if she couldn't get rid of that collar- Luckily. Mari had it under control and as soon as Garter was certain she was relatively safe, She shapeshifted. Slipping underneath some piece of furniture. Safe just in time, As she could just see Johann's feet as he reached the bottom of the stairs. Lucy right behind her. Snickering. "Your n-" But her voice trailed off as she found her sights on the empty cages. Her gaze soon glancing down towards the collars on the floor. Oh, Someone was so going to get punished. But Lucy knew Garter had recently been returned to her cell. Thus neither could have gotten far.

Garter was going to be harder to track. But Mari? She couldn't be difficult and Lucy soon mused. "Well, Seems we get to play cat and mouse. They have to still be around here. " She then walked towards Mari's collar. Picking it up and studying it. The two's scent was everywhere. But the room seemed empty. Maybe they had fled upstairs already? Lucy was then taking a step into Mari's cage. Studying it for a moment.

Garter continued to watch this from her hiding place. Tongue flicking out once more. Before her gaze flickered towards the door to the room. If her and Mari could just slip out now. They could lock the door to the cell. Sure, The vampires probable would be able to break out eventually. But it would give them time. If they waited, Lucy and Johann would alert the entire castle. Thus Garter slowly began slithering towards the stairs. Quiet as she could be. Waiting until she reached it before slowly shifting forms. Johann's and Lucy's back was towards the door, And while Garter couldn't see Mari. She tried to gesture for the woman to follow. Hopeful she would obey.
She could only hope Mari listened on time. For Lucy was then turning around to speak to Johann. Blinking as she quickly spotted Garter. A grin grew on her face as she said. "I think we found one of our mice. " She mused. Garter froze for a moment. Mari's time was up to slip out. One could only hope she listened as Garter slammed the door closed. Struggling to lock it.

Their collars were no use to track them when the whole room was covered in their scents; no they would have to use other means to find them. Johann was scanning the room, dangerous green eyes lingering on the corner Mari was hiding in, and Mari couldn’t help but tremble, hoping her glamour held and didn’t flicker. Luckily it stayed strong enough for Johann’s gaze to move on and she used that time to scramble towards her friend and their, fingers crossed, freedom. Lucy was soon spotting Garter and it was a good thing that Garter acted quickly because Mari knew the vampires would not be slow to hurt them.

”you won’t make it far” Johann warned through the door. “Let us out and maybe I’ll only bruise you” Johann hissed. “Run away and we’ll be forced to resort to more…extreme measures” and there was a curve in his voice that suggested he wouldn’t mind doing so all that much. Still, he’d rather that their mother not have to know about this slip up, he was sure they’d get some of the blame.

Mari did not want to be hurt, they’d suffered enough here, she didnt want to find out what else they could do to break them, but they couldn’t afford to squander this chance. They could be free. And even if it wasn’t for long, it was better than those horrid caged. “We need to go” she insisted with a tug of Garter’s arm. “It won’t take them long to get out, whether they pick the lock of break down the door, we don’t have long before more people will be after us. Come on, let’s go” she was eager to be out of this place, to breath fresh air and see faces other than those that had come here to leer at her.

(I feel Johann is going to be a bit out of character, I need to get back into the swing of playing him again)

(No worries! It'll probable take me a bit of time to get used to playing Lucy again! )

Mari was threw the door and Garter couldn't help but feel some relief. And soon, With the door closed there was some barrier between the two and the vampires. Though Garter knew how strong vampires could be. It wouldn't take them long to break down the door. Still, It was long enough for them to escape. Then Garter heard Johann's voice and she was trembling. A part of her wished to open the door. Plead for forgiveness and hope she would not be harmed too badly. But the feeling of Mari's hand broke such desires. This was the only chance they were going to get.

A small spark of bravery filled Garter's chest, Enough to speak up. Saying threw the door. "No, We're escaping. So... So go to hell! " She barked at Johann. Then she was turning. Feeling Mari try to pull her away. She hurriedly scurried after the woman. Soon taking the lead as she scrambled to the top of the steps. Escape. They needed to get out. But Garter certainly did not know what door to leave from. But, Maybe they didn't need a door? Garter soon spotted a window. Looking towards Mari and squeaking. "This way. " If they couldn't open the window. Garter was perfectly happy to smash it. They'd get out. They had to.

Meanwhile. Lucy was staring at the door. Amusement on her face. Oh, Those two weren't going to get far. A nymph and a fairy? They were hardly capable creatures. So Lucy moved closer to her brother. Musing. "Cocky little things. This will be a fun chase. " Perhaps they should draw things out a bit. Let the girls think they could actually escape. Make punishing them more entertaining. Lucy then nodded her head to her brother. "Would you like to do the honors? " She question. Gesturing towards the door. She was fairly certain either of them could probable easily kick the thing down.

Mari didn’t deem the vampires worthy of a reply nor did she wish to further enrage them, she’d rather focus her efforts on escaping. Much like Garter, she didn’t know the manor very well and so the Presence of a window was blessed relief and she ran her fingers over it looking for a latch to open the window. A broken window may alert others and would be a clear sign of their escape route. Luckily she managed to push the window open and was soon climbing out. She tumbled onto soft ground and almost laughed as blessed fresh air passed across her face. They were outside, in a forest by the looks of it, how beautiful, but Mari knew they couldn’t stick about, they probably wouldn’t be able to outrun the vampires but they could hide, get to safety maybe and hide among the humans.

Johann rolled his eyes as he heard Garter’s comment. Lucy was right, they shouldn’t be much challenge, they seemed useless and frankly not that bright. “dibs on The pretty one” Johann said although seemed willing to let Lucy decide which one that meant. “How kind of you” Johann replied with a snarky grin and went to kick the door. The doors were strong though, made to keep people in, keep creatures confined. 1, 2, the door was kicked open and frankly ruined, Eve might not be too happy about that.

He burst into the hallway and now their scents were a bit more useful, however with Garter having just been let out, they were a bit mingled and the proximity to their room didn’t help. Still, he followed the strongest scent, not walking slowly but also happy to take his time. What was a chase if they didn’t get a bit ahead? If they didn’t have a stupid sense of hope for him to rip out of them! They’d be looking for a way outside, that much was clear, so when he reached an unmatched window, he paused. “I’ll let you have a headstart” he offered with a grin, not that Lucy needed one but Johann was probably more the violent out of the two, if he got there first there might be nothing left for Lucy.

Reaching the window provided Garter a view of the outside world that made her pause a bit. Luckily she was allowed such a moment as Mari was opening the door. A mixture of feelings, Mostly anxiety filled her chest. Sure, She had been outside before. But such was mostly with a collar around her neck. Brief memories of a free childhood crossed her mind. But such memories were foggy. So when Mari dropped down, It took Garter a few seconds before she followed. Her own fears holding her back. Still, Her feet were then touching the ground and it made her heart beat faster. They were outside. Swallowing hard. Garter glanced about, They needed to move. Hiding would be difficult with Mari. The girl could not hide as easily as Garter. But she could still appear human and Garter hoped that would be enough to hide her. So grasping Mari's hand. She said. "Stay in the trees, But lets follow the road! " It was there best chance at finding humans to blend in with. So with that she was running. They could not afford to stop.

Lucy couldn't help but raise her eyebrow at her brother. Pretty one? Lucy imagined that was in reference towards Mari, Then again. Garter did have a fairly wild beauty to her. Both girls were lovely thus Lucy wasn't too fussy over who got what. Though she might argue with Johann simply for the fun of it. Patiently she watched her brother kick at the door. Briefly glancing down at her nails before hearing a loud bang as the door broke open. Mother definitely wasn't going to be happy about that. But that was a problem for later!

Following after Johann. It didn't take long before the two tracked the girls to the window. Though Lucy could not see them from there location. Glancing towards her brother. She then grinned. "Well aren't you being a gentlemen today? " She hummed. Before taking Johann up on his offer. Easily hopping out the window and allowing her gaze to scan about. The girls must have reached the treeline by now. But outside Lucy could pinpoint there scent easier. Perhaps not as well as Johann. The man always seemed far more... Predatory then herself. But Lucy was not one to scoff at. Thus she soon took off. Wild grin on her face.

Mari knew the twins would not be far behind them and she was quick to nod her agreement, racing towards the trees so they could help shield them. She made sure to use he magic to hide her wings, they would surely give her away and ran as fast her legs would let her, too nervous to look back. This forest was not as comforting as she would have liked, it felt foul and tainted, nothing like the forests she knew, ones filled with light and animals and laughter, she couldn’t imagine anything much lived out here, and whatever did couldn’t be friendly. Taking a vehicle would’ve been much quicker but Mari knew not where the keys would be or even how to drive, no, they were stuck with running and who knew for how long!

Johann waited a little while before hopping out the window himself and scanning the treeline for any movement. Prey was far more flight than fight and right now he bet their little head were filled with fear, they wouldn’t be coming up with any grand plans, no, they would be thinking of nothing else but running. So, Johann set off at a rather lazy jog in the rather obvious direction they’d gone. They’d be following the road, it was the only sure fire way to get to somewhere. They’d probably get lost in the forest if they strayed from it and surely they weren’t that stupid although perhaps they were.

”I can smell your fear” Johann called and laughed, his voice echoing through the forest. He did enjoy being dramatic. “There’s no where you can hide from us” which was probably true. It’s not like it wasn’t clear they were going to try and get away, or blend in with the humans, maybe the crowds would stop the twins briefly but not forever and well, they were assuming that the two vampires wouldn’t just rip through the humans to get to them. Okay, they probably wouldn’t, not if there were loads, that‘d be too much of a scene but Garter and Mari couldn’t be surrounded forever.

Neither of the two likely used to such running. Garter knew she wasn't. Living in a cell most of her life. She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep up this pace. Did it even matter? No matter how fast they ran a vampire could easily out run them. She could hear them already. Laughing and taunting. Town was not far but Garter could already tell they would not make it in time. Not unless they could slow the vampires down. Thus a plan soon came to her mind. She only needed to distract for a moment. Long enough for Mari to escape. Then she could shapeshift and disappear. She was confident in her ability to escape in her animal form.

Thus she spoke. Voice strained. "Keep running. I'll catch up. Just trust me. " And with that she was letting go of Mari's hand. Praying the other would listen. Slowing and spinning around. Timed well perhaps. Because she could very well see Lucy. The woman had only been a moment away from catching them. But when she saw Garter stop. She slowed. A wide grin on her face. "Oh? Decided to come back home sweetheart? " Perhaps Garter had realized how hopeless her plan was. Decided to give up in hopes of not being punished as harshly. Though Lucy hardly planned to be gentle with her.

Garter was quiet though. Taking a few steps back as Lucy casually approached. Lucy had deemed Garter already caught? So why would she have her guard up. But Garter was hiding something. The knife she had taken. Hidden slightly behind her back. As soon as Lucy got close enough. Garter didn't hesitate. Lunging forward, Relying on surprise to land a hit. Though she figured Lucy would easily heal from whatever Garter did.
Still, Lucy was yelping as she felt the knife go across her face. Hitting her eye. Her hand quickly clasped to cover the bleeding injury. Briefly trying to tend to the injury. But she could not afford to let Garter go. Besides, She was angry now.

So she lunged. Leaping at the other girl. But Garter was shapeshifting. Turning into a small garter snake and disappearing into the foliage. While Lucy landed harshly on the pavement of the road. Wincing a bit. She could hear Johann nearing by now. Knew he'd see her on the ground bleeding. Her face heating up slightly from embarrassment and shame. She should have been quicker. Blocked the attack. But too late now.

Mari was too scared to worry about the way her chest burned or her legs ached, she had not properly run in a long time but she likely had more practice that Garter who had been caged at a younger age than herself. Her wings, although hidden, at least gave her legs some reprieve, although again, underuse meant they could only be used in short bursts. Mari turned in protest as Garter told her to go without her. What? She couldn’t just leave her! They…they had to keep moving. But Garter talked like she had a plan and Mari was frowning, hesitating, she caught a glimpse of blonde hair and ran for it again, hoping her friend would keep her word and eventually catch up. Garter’s plan seemed to work because before long, Mari could see the town, hear the people and suddenly she had a bit more energy. People were probably looking at her strange, the girl with wild eyes and a dress not at all weather appropriate. Mari was panting, her pale face flushed and suddenly she could feel the cold, the wind against her bare back. She was going to need to get some more appropriate clothes, Garter too, something to help them blend in, but right now, she just had to wait and hope her friend made it too. So she waited on the street, pressed close to a building to try and save her warmth and jumping at every little thing, she only hoped she’d see her friend’s face rather than one of the twins’. At least in a crowded place her glamours could help hide them further and their scent would be less noticeable.

Johann turned up at the scene, too late to stop Garter’s departure but just in time to see Lucy’s humiliation. He crouched next to Lucy to see the full extent of her embarrassment; not only had she let Garter get away, she had allowed her to draw blood. He let his index finger draw along wound, gathering the blood before rubbing It between his finger and his thumb disdainfully. “Pathetic” he muttered with bared teeth. He stood back up. “You’re slipping” he told her, clearly her fighting skills were not up to scratch. “Work on it” better she rectify it before their mother did, maybe she should train some more, Johann would be sure to put her to the test. He scanned the forest but he knew that Garter would not be visible, he had not interest in hunting an endless forest for a tiny snake, and by now Mari would be at town. They were bound to rendezvous there, best to make it there in time for their reunion or before they managed to slip away to another town. “Come on” he told Lucy. “Best not to return empty handed” Their mother might not yet know of her missing pets But she would soon, they had better work on catching them. They could at the very least note where the pair were staying and what they were up to, but hopefully they would catch them, give Lucy a chance to redeem herself. He didn’t bother offering his sister a hand to help her up, instead set of at a walk towards the town. Even should they find them, the pair were bound to make a scene in the town, screaming and struggling, it was a shame that Johann had not brought any rope with him, perhaps they would be able to buy some handcuffs or something though, or scope out the place and return later more prepared.

(ooh, I’m remembering all the plot I had sort of planned for the original one. Ellie was gonna be/was being drugged by her cousin George, sort of like a love potion thing, and he was going to basically force her to marry him, maybe even get her pregnant, but I think I sort of planned Johann or Lucy to find out because They’d probably find it weird how Ellie was acting towards him. Anyway, I also, like ages ago really, sort of planned for Johann to propose to Ellie but hadn’t decided whether she’d agree what with the whole him being in a cult and all that. And also obviously we’d planned for Johann and Lucy to kill their parents, and I’d imagined Johann being the one to kill Eve, like had her tied up in the basement and actually emotional about it, like crying and Eve actually being proud of him for doing it cos she’s twisted)

(Oh! Those all sound fun and interesting! I remember I had a lot of plans too, But I can't really recall them. I remember though that I always pictured Lucy having a bit of a crush on Ellie. Though she would never pursue those feelings. I also was planning to bring in Nex's son. (With him being alive in this AU ) I can't really remember what exactly I plan for him to be like. I'll have to think of something and add him at some point. )

Lucy could already tell that Garter was gone, It was no use hunting for her. Mari would be a far easier target. Thus it was easy to decide the next course of action. But that didn't help the embarrassment Lucy felt. She didn't try to defend herself. Though she did not imagine herself slipping. Garter had just taken her by surprise.. Except that was the point. Lucy should not have been surprised at all. Johann was harsh. But her mother would be worse. Lucy knew Johann cared for her, His firmness was likely more from worry then anything else. The two had to be at the top of the game constantly or there would be consequences.

Moving to her feet. Lucy could feel the wound beginning to heal. But it still stung and her sight in that eye was hindered. Lucy could only hope that would not be permanent. She did not need that added to her problems. Lucy then walked to catch up with brother. "They... They won't have gotten far. We'll catch them. " She muttered. No longer finding joy in this hunt, Just annoyance. Her gaze then flickered towards her brother and for a moment she felt worry. Lucy was not weak. She could fight. But her abilities came from training. Her brother had always seemed just... Naturally talented with such things. That was not the case for Lucy. She was sure it was something her mother noticed as well. If she continued to fall behind her brother in skill, What would happen to her? Would her mother see any use for her?
She couldn't afford to think of that. Instead she focused ahead. The town was nearing and they had to catch these runaway pets.

Still, It would take them time to track any sets in the array of people. The same was true for Garter as well. The girl was slower reaching town. Having decided to stay in her snake form with the constant fear that if she shifted she would be spotted. But luckily Lucy and Johann seemed to carry no interest in tracking her. She could only pray she found Mari before them.
Reaching her quickly though was hindered by another thing. Town. The scent of people and the sight of it had not calmed Garter. Strange and new. Comforted only by her ability to remain hidden. She could not bring herself to shape shift. It probable wasn't a good idea anyway. Her human form held only revealing clothing that would reveal her scales. She needed normal clothing to blend in. So she slipped along, It was harder to hide here. No more grass and leaves to hide under. Just pavement and strange smells. It was only by sheer luck that she spotted her companion. Even luckier that Lucy and Johann had yet to find her.

Garter didn't waste any time. Approaching the other, Tongue flicking out as she scented the air. No scent of vampire lingered nearby, Just as the town covered there own scents. It also masked those of Lucy and Johann. But still, Garter moved to her companions side. Nuzzling against the others foot gently. Atleast with Garter in this form it would be harder for Lucy and Johann. One person alone was harder to find then two.

(Yeah I remember Lucy and Ellie sort of getting together in the original. They were cute together but whether any relationship they had would actually be serious or not is another matter. I think you might’ve mentioned him being sort of mean, not the angel Nex made him out to be but he can be whatever you want really.
I feel like in this their mother’s gonna have Had them done some pretty depraved things. Also, what’s the twins relationship in this? Protective of each other I guess. Are we gonna have them be perhaps a bit too close to each other?)

Johann could not coddle Lucy too much, it would not help her, and certainly not in the middle of a hunt. Perhaps once they were done then he may be more relaxed, but right now he was all predator. Whilst Lucy may not be as naturally deadly as him, she certainly had her own skills; it was fair easier to believe lies coming out of the face of a pretty woman. Which wasn’t to say Johann wasn’t a good liar, but he hardly came across as someone up to good, even if he didn’t look lethal at all time, he certainly seemed at the least mischievous. And it was likely far easier for Lucy to fool stupid men through her looks and words. Both of the twins were dangerous but they were most often a unit and that made them something more.

Mari hugged herself as she waited, trying to ignore the strange looks people sent her or the way sometimes a gaze would linger for a touch too long. She almost screamed as she felt something brush against her foot but she felt a flood of relief as she looked down and recognised Garter. She leaned down to see her friend better. “We need to get off the streets before we’re spotted” she murmured, but then came the danger of being more alone. “Theres a hotel or a pub” she scanned the streets “or some shops” they needed better clothes, hopefully ones that smelled human, like a charity shop. They didn’t have any money but Mari was fairly sure she could trick the vendors with some glamour, it wasn’t the nicest but they were in need.

By now, Johann and Lucy had reached the outskirts of the town, Mari spotted them and quickly turned away so they couldn’t see her face. “I need to change” she told Garter, ducking into a nearby shop. A hat would stop her head being so recognisable in the crowd and some new clothes. Hopefully it took a while before Johann and Lucy got to where they were. “We should split up” Johann prompted, eyes roaming the crowds. he let his gaze glance to Lucy briefly “if you think you can handle that?” There was no point splitting up if she wouldn’t be able to handle herself.

(I'll have to think about it for a bit. He could be a pretty fun character to play.
I always imagined them being a bit too close to eachother, They've only ever had eachother to rely on. Though Lucy is probable a bit more normal then Johann. I always imagine people spreading plenty of rumors due to how close they are. )

Lucy had her strengths. Words were them. But it mattered little if she could not match her brothers brutality. Those were fears she often carried and it was difficult for her to be rid of them. But still, She focused on the task at hand. They were reaching town, By now the injury had stopped bleeding and Lucy was so glad for the natural healing vampires carried. Though blood still lingered on her face. She'd need to clean off before returning home. Hopeful her mother would not notice any signs of the injury. Her thoughts were interrupted by Johann's voice. Glancing in his direction. Resisting the urge to bristle at his words.

Lucy then murmured quietly. "Of course I can handle it. " She had to be able to. With that she turned from Johann. Storming in the opposite direction of him. She just wanted this over and done with so she could go home. But scanning the crowd provided no evidence of where either of the two had gone. She couldn't even pick out there scents. Though that didn't mean things were hopeless. They had to be hiding in one of the local stores or something. So she began her search.

Garter's snake form really was helpful to the young girl. Peering up at her friend. Sadly it ment she could not speak. But she still nodded her head in a way to indicate understanding. Then Mari was moving, Quickly Garter figured out why. Freezing for only a moment. Her colors were not that great in this moment. Bright and pretty. They stood out on the dark grey sidewalk. But, Garter decided to follow her companions lead. Moving towards a small alleyway. She shapeshifted. Clothes. She needed clothes to cover her scales. Thats when she spotted it. A man casually talking on the phone. He sat on a bench with his jacket hanging on it. Bingo. With him distracted. Garter found it easy enough to waltz towards him. As casual as she could before swiping the coat. Pulling it on herself and suddenly feeling very pleased with the warmth it provided. Luckily the man did not seem to notice. Garter didn't stop to look back. Instead dipping into the store to once more stay near Mari's side.

(Yeah, Johann is not okay. I can totally see him willing to sleep with Lucy, I don’t even feel like that’s something he’d hide from her, so might not dispel any rumours about them. He’s just a big fan of blondes!)

Johann watched her storm off and smirked at the way he’d clearly ruffled her feathers. Good. Hopefully it’d encourage her not to make any more mistakes. Johann started searching from the other side of the town, ducking into places, but also making sure to keep an eye on the crowd in case they re-emerged. He wasn’t picking up much scent of anything besides human, the town was too busy for him to get a read on where they might’ve gone. So, the old fashioned way it was, turning over every stone until they came scuttling out.

Luckily Mari had ducked into a clothes shop. She was worried when her friend did not immediately follow but she could not afford to go back out and check for her. She managed to find a hat to help cover her head and a pair of fashion glasses, no actual use but should distract from her features. And of course, importantly, more practical clothing, some jeans, a top and a coat. Garter was thankfully back at her side and Mari pressed some extra clothes she’d found for her into her hands. “We’re going to pay, we’re going to change and then we leave immediately“ she told Garter, they needed to keep moving. This shop was too isolated, they needed to move through the crowd, maybe find a bus or something to take them away.

Mari did her best not to let her hands shake as she took their items to their till, hoped her magic would act up as she made some price tags she’d pinched look like money and made sure to walk at a normal pace away from the cashier. She knew time was running out, they’d be searching the shops and there were not that many people here to obstruct the twins’ justice. “Public transport” she murmured to Garter and she wasn’t a human but she knew enough about them, people would be on it, people would keep them safe and hopefully mask their smell.

(I imagine Lucy is probable aware of that. I don't think she'd be interested in that. But I feel like its less because he's her brother, And more that he's just not really her type. )

Mari now seemed to be taking charge. Which was perhaps for the best. Because now that Lucy and Johann were no longer in sight. Garter was allowed a chance to look around more properly and well... Everything was new and odd and it was difficult for her not to be frightened. Pressing close to the other. She looked down at the clothes in her hands. Clutching them a bit tightly as she nodded. Mari's glamour worked like a charm though and it didn't take the two long before they were out of the store and able to find a place to change.

The fabric was nice. Sleeves long and hiding her scales. It was nice. No longer feeling as though she was on display. A feeling she rarely had most of her life. She wasn't given much of a chance to really embrace such things though. Transportation. They needed to leave. Once again this was something that Mari had more experience then her regarding. Thus Garter could do little then remain near her. Watching warily for any signs of the vampires hunting them.

She only really paid attention to where they were going when they were slowing down. Her gaze flickering up and tensing at the sight of a bus. A taxi might have been a less intimidating option for her. But more people ment things would be more difficult for Johann and Lucy. Speaking of those two. Garter soon caught a glimpse of the male vampire. Soon she reached out to nudge Mari. Silently indicating his direction. Perhaps it would have been easier to run into the bus. But he'd surely notice that. That had to take there time and blend in.

(Can you just imagine that conversation? Someone like: oh you two are totally together and Lucy is just: nah, not my type. The brother thing is not a turn off but the whole look? Not my thing)

Mari was pleased to get wrapped up in a coat and stave off the cold but her joy was short lived as it seemed Johann was nearing them. She stiffened as Garter pointed him out and let her eyes flick frantically to the bus. They needed to move, before the bus left and before he spotted them. Mari held her friend’s arm as she weaved their way through the crowd, trying to keep her pace light and the panic of her face. They were just some girls going for a stroll in the town, nothing unusual. Maybe they’d catch a film later and then they’d get home just in time for tea. Yeah, no. She wished that was her life.

The bus, thankfully had not left by the time they reached it and Mari went to slip on and ’pay’ their fare. Just before she entered the bus though, she took one last glance in Johann’s direction to check where he was. She shouldn’t have. He hadn’t moved far but he was looking right there way and they locked eyes. She swear she saw him smile. She ducked quickly inside the bus, going to yank Garter after her and press themselves into the bus. “He saw me” she fretted to Garter. “He saw me, he knows we’re here” she could only hope the bus left before he got there.

The bus rumbled, ready to depart and Mari was ready to breathe a sigh of relief when a dark headed figure stepped into the doorway. Seemed they were not so lucky this time. Johann scanned the bus passengers before his gaze landed on them and he grinned, too many teeth on display for it to be friendly. He sauntered over, Mari practically froze to the spot, and sat down right next to them. He didn’t make a scene though, the bus was too busy. “I don’t think my mother signed a permission slip for you two to go on a little field trip” he commented, his leg pressed right up against Mark’s and he tutted at them. “You’re going to get off at the next stop, and not make a fuss, or I’m going to have to hurt a whole lot of people” he warned with a meaningful glance around the bus. The next stop wasn’t for a while though, maybe they could do something once they were out of the bus. Johann had found him but now he was split for Lucy, without back up, and no doubt still underestimating them.

(Lmao, I feel like Johann would be really offended if he heard that. Like what? Is he not hot enough for her? )

Garder was afraid already. The bus, The noises, The people, The vampires. Ya know, It was all a little bit much. Still, She stayed close to Mari. Let her lead. But things just had to get worse. Her words made Garder tense. He might have seen her. But if they just hurried. They could escape. They got out of that horrid dungeon. That was the hard part! Right? But Garder didn't really believe that. She was already starting to tremble. Falling into the seat next to Mari. Wishing that she still had her knife. But she had long since dropped the thing during her scrap with Lucy. Looking up. Her heart sank further as she spotted Johann. His gaze making her want to squirm in her seat. But instead she shut her eyes tightly. Hoping that when she opened them he'd be gone.

But then he spoke and she couldn't deny his presence. Glancing up. He was going to drag them back to that horrid place. Somewhere that had already been a nightmare. Now, After this little escape Garder knew it would only get worse. "Please... I... We can't go back there. Can't you just look the other way? " She whimpered. Finding herself moving a arm around Mari. Pulling her closer. Half protectively. And half to comfort herself. The sicko would probable enjoy hearing her begging. He always seemed to enjoy suffering.

Garder didn't know how much she'd be able to bargain. Stabbing Lucy in the eye probable hadn't endeared either twin to her. But Garder still continued. "Surely we aren't w-worth all this trouble? " She stuttered. Though really, Garder had always heard Nymphs tended to be difficult to find. Though she knew not if that was because they were rare. Or simply good at hiding. The same probable held for fairies. Besides, It probable didn't matter how much they were worth. The vampires would never allow anyone to think they could escape them.

(haha yeah, like he definitely thinks he should be hot enough for Lucy)

Look the other way? No, Johann didn’t think so. He would not let two….pets get the better of him nor weasel their way out of this. What were they even going to do with their freedom? Not a lot he bet. It was really just best for them to come back where they could be fed and clothed and looked after, they might damage fhemselves out here and well, Eve wouldn’t like that. Johann leaned back in his seat and stretched his arm out along the back of Mari’s chair as the girl leaned into her friend for some form of comfort. “it’s not my decision whether you’re worth it or not” he told them. “In fact, if it were up to me, you’d already be dead….well….maybe i‘d have a little fun first” he conceded and leaned in closer which made Mari squeeze even tighter against Garter.

”but, as I said, it’s not up to me. My mother doesn't like her accessories to wander off although maybe you arent worth it, I’m sure she’ll make an example out of you if that’s the case” Johann gave them another grin and Mari stiffened. She knew they hadn’t been the only prisoners, and they weren’t the first to try And escape, she’d seen an example being made before and it wasn’t pretty. She would very much like to stay in one piece thank you very much.

”we can’t go back” Mari managed to get out. “It’ll be worse than death what she does to us” or maybe actual death as well. She wasn’t suicidal but she would rather Johann carry out his threat than take them back. And it seemed their stop was coming up. The bus lulled to a stop and it seemed they were out of town now, where Mari couldn’t say, but there were no Bustling crowds. Johann looked at them pointedly and Mari licked her lips nervously. She didn’t want to go but she didnt want Johann to hurt all these people either. So she got to her feet and slowly made her way to the exit. It seemed they were the only ones getting off at this stop. Maybe it would give them an opportunity to attack Johann and get away? It certainly might be difficult for him to drag them all the way back now that they’d travelled a fair distance.

Johann had no intentions of letting them go. But that was something both girls knew. It didn't matter how much they begged. Johann was a cruel man. He would give them no sympathy. Garder had no doubt he was perfectly happy to kill everyone on the bus before dragging them off. So when the bus eventually came to a stop, Garder had little choice but to get up alongside Mari. Clinging to the other. She was scared, And things seemed very hopeless. Reaching the ground. All Garder could see around them was forest. Perhaps she would be able to escape. But that would mean abandoning Mari and she wasn't sure she was capable of that.

So she stayed where she was. Turning back to look at Johann. Just in time to watch the bus leave them. It was getting late now. The sun was setting and the shadows did little to help Garder calm down. But she still moved in front of Mari. She knew very well she was the more intimidating of the two. Sharp teeth and snake like eyes helped in that. A part of her hoped such would make Johann hesitate. Give them more time to think up a plan. But even when Garder bared her teeth, She was sure Johann knew it was nothing but show. She was a creature that hid from danger, Not faced it.

Still, If she was going to be dragged back to that hellhole. She was going to go kicking and screaming. Even if they went back willingly they would still be hurt. So if she could cause a little bit of pain in return... Well, She'd do her best. She had hurt Lucy. Caused damage to one of them. She tried to use that to muster more confidence. Though it didn't help that much. Johann was far scarier then Lucy afterall.
But... Perhaps she could use the same tactic to escape? All she needed to do was distract. Keep Johann focused on her long enough for Mari to get to safety. He didn't exactly have a collar to keep her from shifting, And unless he knocked her out? Well, He might have trouble keeping ahold of her. So she glanced back towards Mari for a second. Then lunged. Aiming to punch Johann as hard as she could.

The problem with cornered animals were that they were more predictable than people thought. Fight or flight. That’s what it always came down to and with the way Garter stood in front of Mari it was clear that her decision had been made. Fight was there only choice because flight would get them nowhere. Unfortunately for Garter that meant Johann was expecting her attack. He tilted his body to avoid her hitting him but instead reached out a hand to catch her fist and now the Smile was back and Mari hated the glint in his eyes.

She understood that she was meant to run, that Garter was buying her time but she couldn’t just leave her here, not considering that Johann had reached his other hand out to try and grab Garter by the throat and well, could she still shapeshift when she was having the life squeezed out of her. Her thoughts were only compounded by Johann teasingly calling out: “you have no where to run” and he was right, they didn’t know how far along the next town was and Garter might be okay to slither away but he would no doubt catch up to her. Johann figured his point was made and went to throw Garter to the ground, time to break Mari now.

”what will it take for you to let us go?” Mari asked, dark eyes on Johann as she crossed her arms over her chest. “I’ll do whatever you want,“ Mari promised which was maybe unwise of her but whatever he wanted couldn’t be worse than what would await them back in confinement. Johann did consider the question, Eve didn’t like them playing with her toys, but well, Johann did think he was entitled to some fun. Except…Lucy was not here, it meant he had to watch them both which could be problematic if one did properly distract. “I’m not convinced you could offer anything that would outweigh my mother’s wrath” Johann murmured although he seemed to be testing what they Might suggest. And Mari had spotted a rather large and heavy looking rock on the ground and let her gaze flicker to Garter quickly. Well, someone could distract him and the other could smash Johann over the head with it, hopefully it’d take him down for a while! Mari blinked big eyes at Johann. “Are you sure? You know, fairy dust is a strong aphrodisiac” she breathed. “ and I’ve been trained to serve” dropping to her knees in front of Johann with wide, suggestive eyes. She really hoped Garter had got the message.

Garter was quick to realize things were over as her hand was grabbed. Almost as quickly a hand was around her neck and Garter was soon whimpering. Struggling against his grip. Scratching at his arm in a attempt to free herself. Her instincts already telling her to shapeshift. But she had little chance as Johann was tossing her to the side. As if she was as heavy as a doll. Curse vampire strength. Garter yelped as she hit the ground. Her hand moving to her neck as she took gasping breaths. Closing her eyes tightly for a moment before she gained the courage to look up. It seemed Mari had Johann's attention. Which Garter couldn't help but feel a sort of relief over that. Because it ment Johann's terrible eyes weren't on her.

Garter's plan might have failed. But Mari had another and it didn't take long before Garter caught on. But there was also something else she noticed. The wind carried a scent. Garter barely noticed it. But it reminded Garter of wet dog... Only different. Werewolf perhaps? If they were near a werewolves territory. It would atleast make Johann hesitant to follow. Wolves tended to run in packs afterall and did not take kindly to vampires. Garter could not confirm that was the case. But it was there best option. Any town was too far.

Thus with a direction in her mind to go. Garter stumbled to her feet as quietly as she could. Having regained her breath, She moved towards the stone. Well, It was all or nothing here. She couldn't afford to hesitate. Thus she was picking up the stone and charging. Aiming to slam it against Johann's head. She wasn't sure if it would knock him out. But it might stun him. Garter then barked at Mari. "That way, I smell something. " She gave no more explanation. Weather she hit or missed. She had no choice now but to try and bolt in the direction of the scent. Hoping dearly they could reach the border of a packs territory.

It seemed Johann was at least intrigued by the offer and leaned forwards over Mari. “Well, look who’s full of bright id-“ WHACK! Johann slumped forwards as the rock made contact and Mari made sure to move out of the way of his body, scrambling to her feet and nodding, racing with Garter to what they hoped was safety. Fairy’s didn’t really have such a strong sense of smell, they were better at detecting things like when magic had been used. The werewolf territory should provide them some sort of safe haven, but that didn’t mean the werewolves themselves would be friendly. They were likely to be better received than a vampire, not such threats not such rivals, and maybe the werewolves themselves would offer some form of protection in order to annoy the vampires but well…it might be foolish of them. They’d be putting themselves in danger because Mari didn’t think a few werewolves would stop Eve.

Johann hit the ground, head pounding and vision fuzzy as he tried to regain his bearings. That had hurt like hell. He pressed his hands into the ground, lifting his torso up so he could look around. “F*ck” he hissed as he realised they’d scattered. He climbed to his feet, well aware that his balance was off and pressed a hand to the back of his head. It came away sticky and he growled at the sight of red on his fingers. They were going to pay for that. He took a few stumbling steps forward before he managed to gain control and he sped up into a gentle jog, following their scent until it led him to….

Werewolf territory. He could smell it clear as day. He stopped at the border and gritted his teeth. He had no use killing a few werewolves, the problem was he didn’t know how many lived here. 3 or 4 then yeah, okay, but 20? Johann wasn’t suicidal. He’d need Lucy, someone to watch his back. He didn’t want to call it a defeat because it wasn’t, he’d be back, and if they weren’t here then he’d drag their location out of these dogs. But no, he wasn't walking into a trap. Seemed it was prisoners 1, twins 0. Well, they may have won this battle but Johann didn’t plan of letting them win the war. He contemplated leaving the werewolves a note, warning them that they should hand over the pair or face his wrath but no….he’d rather walk in there and rip them apart, or maybe the wolves would get rid of them as soon as they found out who they belonged to. Worse case scenario really was that the werewolves killed them, but well….he figured it’d serve them right. So Johann, after a while, turned to trek back to the town and find his sister. She was just going to love this.

It seemed the path they took was the right one. After a bit, Garter did not hear Johann hot on there trail. If he had followed he'd surely have pounced by now. Thus she allowed herself to slow down. Resting her hand against a tree and heavily breathing. Uncertain if she had ever run that far in her life. After regaining her breath. She took a moment to explain. "I-I think this is werewolf territory. " She wasn't certain. She had not had much encounters with the creatures. Vampires didn't exactly like them thus they weren't exactly kept around. Besides. Packs could be tough. Any vampire should be wary when in a wolfs territory.

Sadly Garter could not tell the amount of wolves. She did not know the creatures well enough to distinguish the scents between eachother. She also didn't know if they would be friendly. Perhaps they could just lay low for a while? Wait until Johann had likely left then leave the territory? Hopefully no wolves would spot them. But... The werewolves could also provide protection? Garter didn't know. Thus she looked towards Mari, Clearly hoping the other would know what to do. She then was Jumping at the sound of a howl in the distance. Pressing closer towards Mari. Well, Seemed the wolves were awake. Though the noise did not sound near. It did give some indication of what direction they'd be in.

Meanwhile. Lucy in town had come up short on finding the escaped slaves. And that worried her. What made it worse was she soon couldn't even find her brother. A annoying fact. But still she searched until the sun had completely vanished and the stores were closed for the night. The streets mostly empty and it was clear Lucy was getting no where. Her eye by now had healed. But her vision in it remained blurry and Lucy feared it might have healed wrongly. That was dangerous. Her family would not take kindly to any form of weakness. So Lucy planned to try and keep quiet about it. Simply hope it would fix itself.

Lucy, Having no luck then decided to fish her phone out of her pocket. Ready to text her brother when she frowned at the cracked screen. Great. It must have gotten damaged in the fall. How wonderful this day was going. Still, It seemed to work and Lucy was soon texting her brother. "Where you at?" She figured he'd found some sort of trail by now. Following it too who knows where. She could only hope he had succeeded. If not? Well... Facing their mother was going to be a pain.
